  • Just because they acknowledge something doesn't mean it's guaranteed to come to the game any time soon, or even at all. I wouldn't take their words as some sort of promise.
  • I don't believe we're going to get fully functioning, driving-down-the-road cars. They'll just be something to click on, select the travel option and the sim(s) might sit in them before going to the map screen. If they aren't willing to edit old worlds to add swimming to bodies of water, they sure aren't going to go back…
  • I've just come across this and it's so frustrating. I wanted to swap one of the rentals with the bathhouse so it's closer to the hills and rock climbing but apparently this can't be done. I understand the requirement of the lot, but instead of locking that particular lot, just give a warning that an Onsen Bathhouse lot…
  • I wanted the llama planter. I got the llama planter. I am happy, I wish there was a larger variety of items though. No curtains? No lighting? No wallpaper?
  • I came up with 24 items while going through the list, and happily added 4 more without feeling like I couldn't vote for anything I would use on a regular basis. The style of this pack is pretty feminine and heavy on pastel colours, which isn't my absolute favorite but I know there will probably be a lot of stuff I don't…
  • I'm not surprised they are trying to push towards this direction again. And if they do end up going online and making the Sims a multi-player experience and all that, I'm out. 4 will continue to be modded and have CC created for it, and continue to have fixes made. It will keep me happy in the wake of a Sims 5 online…
  • Pretty underwhelmed this time around. A couple of things I voted for made it in but for a pack based on knitting I honestly expected almost every CAS item to be craftable and this balance you speak of doesn't exist, or else your definition of balance is different from mine. And why include pet items in the vote if there…
  • I can't help but be excited by this news. I enjoy the game despite it's flaws, even more so than TS3. I just wish the expansions were a bit meatier. But with the game continuing to generate good revenue I can see TS4 lasting another 2+ years, especially if the boost to sales from the free base game helps keep that revenue…
  • I'm thinking late November/early December to take advantage of the holiday sales frenzy. No company in their right mind would miss that opportunity on purpose...especially money-hungry EA. I want to predict University but I really have no idea with this dev team, and I don't mean that in a bad way. They come up with some…
  • The animation is great, but the art style is terrible. I would stick with Sims 4 if we got that.
  • I would prefer a complete life state with a "perk tree" much like Vampires. This tree could either help with improving magical things (spell casting, potion brewing, broom riding, etc) or they could add separate skills for those kinds of things and leave the perk tree for more fun kinds of things!
  • The changes to the menu, pack art and loading screen doesn't bother me. It's a non-issue and not worth complaining about. I'm more miffed at the fact that they didn't add new traits with the new story mode, lol. I'm glad The Sims 5 seems further and further off. I've put so much money into TS4 that I am not even close to…
  • The fact that a dev made a Twitter poll about what players would want to see in a farming pack says it's on the table, at the very least. Expanded off-the-grid living and horses would be my biggest wishes. With the gardening system being overhauled with Seasons I can see them using that to their advantage and adding in…
  • I'm not surprised, but you never know if 2 expansions a year is a guaranteed thing so it's nice to hear this. :) I am personally hoping for University. Wouldn't be angry with Farming, although it sounds like people want ranching more than traditional farming! The addition of chickens and the Off-the-Grid lot trait makes it…
  • This is why I have a mod that allows card trading up to Young Adult. There is also a mod that allows other ages to play the game but their legs clip horribly into it. I wish it could be placed on a table so more ages could play without looking ridiculous.
  • I completely agree that TS4 packs are seriously lacking when compared to TS2 and TS3. Maxis should be up in arms over being forced to push out sub-par content by their evil overlords at EA but it's totally out of their control. I'm not saying TS4 is bad, I really enjoy playing it, but whenever new packs come out there is a…
  • Didn't they say that Realm of Magic was coming this Fall during the EA Play stream? If so, then it would have to be at the very end of September in order to stick within the 6-month thing AND be released in Fall. But I am inclined to believe they scrapped the whole "3 packs in 6 months" thing and will release it later.
  • Canadian here too, also payed just under $55. I will definitely be looking at different websites for purchasing now. It's just way too expensive for a mere expansion pack. I hate how we have to pay for crazy inflated prices for literally everything.
  • EA would never fund the development of console hardware for a single game. That would be a poor business decision. Recouping the costs would be put on the consumer and it would be a couple hundred at least. I don't think they would fund development for ANY sort of hardware, in the first place.
  • At this point after 4 generations of The Sims, I think I can safely say I wouldn't buy Sims 5 day one. I really dislike waiting years for more content. The only reason I jumped ship from 3 to 4 on day one was because I really disliked the graphics of 3 and found 4 to be much more appealing. I hope A fifth generation is a…
  • A spa and restaurant are an absolute must. Probably a celebrity lounge as well. And lastly an outdoor bar and a couple of beaches. Leaves a good number of residential lots. Might throw a nightclub over the water in as well now that I think about it. Those glass floor tiles + glass dance floor are screaming to be used!
  • Definitely a lot over the water at first. There are a few of those though, so it's a hard decision! But the very first thing I will do when I load up the game is renovate all of the pre-existing lots/find some by awesome Simmers on the gallery and shuffle community lot locations around. New worlds are always so exciting. :D
  • Normally I wouldn't care about playing a mermaid myself, although having them around in the world is fantastic. Except for this time. They are so beautiful in this game I just have to play at least one! I don't normally play evil/mean Sims but I would love to play a "Siren" type using their songs to lure Sims into unsavory…
  • Don't count on it. Future worlds may have the possibility of swimmable bodies of water but I wouldn't even count on that. The gameplay is exclusive to this pack, you would need to own it to even use water or beaches in other worlds.
  • Haha, I'm not surprised. The team always try to hype up not-that-interesting stuff. It's not a huge deal for me personally, I don't have trouble decorating with what we have now. Couldn't they have at least included windows too, to match the doors?!
  • There is absolutely no proof of your claims. They may have designed the sliding doors and ceiling fans for the Island expansion and thought it would be a good idea to give them to everyone through an update, just like with the dishwasher. The other assets may have been scrapped ideas from other packs, or maybe a few devs…
  • It would really depend on the traditions included with the expansion, if any. I already have a "Midsummer" holiday that this expansion could integrate very nicely into if they include things like ocean/beach activities and sunbathing. On the other hand, if they have traditions more in-line with the culture of the world…
  • I don't want to go so far as to say they are working on a University pack, but I sure as heck hope they are, haha. There is still plenty of time to release another expansion this winter/fall if they want to continue with 2-expansions per year, even with the magic game pack coming later. Honestly the game pack coming in mid…
  • Based on the poll results so far it sounds like raising animals, having horses and living off the grid could be a great game pack. I don't know if it's enough to be an expansion. But the team could come up with some other fun things to add I'm sure. I think they have so many ideas they would love to try out so giving…
  • Well this confirms that moving solely to 64-bit means nothing. They have no intention of actually using that advantage to its potential for future packs so why bother taking away 32-bit in the first place?
