The gurus posted a picture stating Sims 4 sold more than 10m though. It definitely sold more than 5m back in 2016. To this day I have no idea how Sims 2 was such a decline from Sims 1.
I'd prefer to keep the stuff packs system of Sims 4 instead of an online store. In 4 years, Sims 3 store had content with a total price of over $1,000. Sims 4 stuff packs in 4 years in total cost $140.
I assume this means the next GP and EP both have a new world. Or he is talking about the next 2 EPs. At least we know at least 2 more worlds will arrive for Sims 4 :)
One of the Sims 4 surveys had "Magic University" as an option so it's funny you mentioned this. A Hogwarts pack is something they really thought about.
I hope it's something they plan to update in the future. I'd also love the option to have secret meals that you unlock by mixing and matching ingredients.
Yes, the Sims is the kind of game where it's too easy for things to go wrong. So many variables that it's simply impossible to fix everything. I'm happy the team is taking an effort with monthly patches. There are many games left to rot with bugs the moment they hit the store shelfs.
I would also prefer more normal worlds. Vacation worlds are flawed by design because it's not something you can use every day unless you use money cheats.
2022 sounds possible. Maybe 2023 if a console part will also arrive at launch. That would be great for PlayStation 5's early years. I doubt VR will be supported though. The market for that is too small and with the PlayStation 5 coming out possibly soon, consoles and PC will continue to be the biggest gaming systems.
Whatever this project is we won't see it for at least 3 more years. Every Sims era had a spin off console/pc game so it might be just that. Whatever it is hopefully it's fun.
With the success of Sims 4, I honestly don't see EA attempting to cater to Sims 2 and 3 fan bases anymore. I know it sounds harsh but it's just not feasible for many reasons. It's the natural process of a long running franchise.
Get to Work: - retail system is just inferior in almost every way to Sims 2's - the 3 active careers were an underwhelming main feature. Now, if every career became active, this would have been great - the promenade was too small - not making Sixam a regular neighborhood for aliens only, was a missed opportunity - locking…
Sims 3's Island Paradise seems to have started the trend of packs that seem as if no one play tested them. Every sims game suffers the faith of needing mods to fix bugs, it's just part of the deal at this point. I'm not happy with it, but I'm just used to it at this point. If the Sims had a competition with another life…
