How do you trigger the 'long lost cousin' event from Growing Together? I have had my sims research genealogy via the computer and so far no event has triggered.

I play with custom content and mods. I usually reset the parents of each household's age back to the start if they are near the end of the life stage if i'm not ready for them to age up yet. Or i play until all the kids in the household have aged up if their birthdays are close to each others.

I held my sim self's first family reunion event and the description said you can invite everyone on the family tree and close friends yet the invite count was still up to 15 or do those related to those invited sims come along anyway?

You can turn off wants and fears by gameplay settings and they all go away. I play with these off as I always have even when wants and fears were known as whims.

Since my sim self's family has grown over time, i like to rotate his children's houses. Most of his kids are married with their own kids now and what ever household i'm playing become the main stars of the show for a while.

I'll give this a try and see if it improves. The column in the downstairs toilet doesn't really need to be there in the game, if i'm building a house from real life i just like to add these details for accuracy if anything.
