Hi Stella, I'm amazed I remembered my origin login! Haven't used it in forever, lol. Anyway, just thought I should pop my head in here to contribute of at least comment on the awesome world ;) Going to fix dinner now then I'm going tomb raiding ;)
@doggal101, just to make sure. Is Star Stable something you downloaded to the Sims, i.e CC, or is it the online game you mean? If it's the game then I don't think that's the problem. I should still try the factory reset though since that's the best way to start.
Of course cc may be the culprit. It's always a possibility :-) but just this thing with the black screen has for many, myself included, been helped by following Crin's tip. IK thought it was worth pointing it out for the OP.
You can also try replacing the RH/workplace with a new copy. I've heard that it sometimes is the routing in to the RH that's faulty, depending on town, try moving them. Another thing to try is to quit the job and start again and see if the problem persist. Remember to backup your save.
It only works with Windows OS. You can use it on a Mac if you Bootcamp it, i.e partition the HD and install windows, check the Mac section, in this forum, for more info on how to bootcamp.
Can't you change that in options in-game? Tick off play in fullscreen and change the resolution in the drop down menu. Haven't played on my Mac side for a while but I think it's possible?
Then I would left the gamed created a new sims 3 filed and slowly ad back stuff to see if there is a save that's corrupt and reinstall your store content. It sounds as bad cc but if you sure you haven't any.... You haven't downloaded any sims from the exhange, they can often have stuff attached that doesn't show.
Well under FAQ it says it's just fort PC..... http://www.thesims.com/the-sims-4#/frequently-asked-questions I guess we have to keep our fingers crossed.....
Yes, you drag or paste. Yes you will have two EA folders, just copy the files you want from the old folder into the new one and save the old one as a backup. Well, I'm guessing the newest version as long as it is compatible to your system.
For the sim to show up like in the picture it has to be packed with those items, clothes, skin and so on, that's not always the case. If certain items not show up it might be because you don't have them installed then you have to DL and install them your self. I can't swear that this is your problem but it seams likely if…
To me that looks like you've DL a sim with a cc skin that you don't have installed. If that's the case try choosing a new skin tone in CAS and see if that helps.
If you read the links provided you may get your answer. Especially the one on how to set the game up in a bootcamp partition. I play in bootcamp and have no problem, but I'm on an iMac..... I can't say if the glitch with NVIDIA continues since I don't have it but it may say in the tread.
