I've always played the same Sunset Valley game for about 12 years now on and off, but every few years I transfer everyone to a brand new Sunset Valley just to see if it'll help with save file bloat and load times. I'm on Week 35, Day 9 of my current Sunset Valley from 2018.
Just read this morning that EA has signed a deal to include video ads in some of their PC and console games, similar to the ads in mobile games. https://www.pcgamer.com/this-company-is-putting-video-ads-in-games-and-ea-has-already-signed-up/ So... Break: * video ads in my game * the possibility of EA adding video ads later…
For sharing with others, I'll photoshop screenshots from my game into a comic like the one below and post it on the forums or on my blog. These comics are usually pretty light on story and more for humor. A lot of the time the captions have little or nothing to do with what was happening in the actual story I was playing…
I don't trust EA to know how to balance developing for multiplayer and single-player at the same time. I barely trust them to know how to develop the single-player game in any satisfying way. I do trust them to cut costs by cutting features players love and then telling us those features no longer fit the core gameplay…
Make * those weird accents from The Sims 1 * open world that doesn't crumble to desktop if you move the camera slightly too fast or exhale once out of rhythm at the center of your monitor * Create-a-Style, color wheel thingy, etc. * single-player only, but your Sims of all ages can play The Sims Social together to remind…
I can already imagine being half-way into building a lovely house when two 64x64 four-story mansions spawn to the left and right of my lot, my frame rate plummeting to oblivion as two families of 8 swarm my front door, each holding a fruitcake, and I only have a split second to read "Simmerbornin2014 says: lol sul sul…
I usually enjoy simming the most when I'm feeling socially exhausted and want to immerse myself in an activity alone, completely inaccessible to other people. So this game doesn't appeal to me at all so far. I don't want to be serenely watching my Sim eat birthday cake for 12 meals in a row when someone's…
I'm usually okay with accepting the game's limitations when playing a realistic storyline. But I do get the sense that some of those limitations are in place for different reasons. For example, it's more for the player's convenience to have some forward momentum in the gameplay, so in-game time passes faster, we don't have…
This sounds like a problem I had last year while playing in fullscreen mode. I was taking screenshots to compare different antialiasing options (the game's edge smoothing, NVIDIA Control Panel's antialiasing, and Reshade's antialiasing), but not even the game's own edge smoothing would show up when I took the pictures in…
