  • A few questions... 1. What is your favorite hero/profession? --- The Blacksmith first, then Wizard. Together they can create some amazing things for most of the kingdom (Knights, Monarch, etc), especially if you manage to track down some of those harder-to-get materials. Plus they're super easy to level; crafting on the…
  • I mostly use The Sims Resource stuff. There's not a ton for the era, but I've found enough to get by. Finding stuff for the kids was even harder, so I just played through. Also: I'm playing first three Gen's on Short lifespan bc it seems more fitting. Then four Gen's for Med, etc.

  • Update: After posting this comment the *same* parent/toddler seem to be getting along just fine without even exiting the game. o.o Gotta love The Sims. :D
  • I've *never* had this happen until now. Seriously. So I'm thinking it might be parent/toddler angst. IE: Mom's a nice enough Vampire, but she's not going Good, and her baby, though full-blood, is Angelic. She sits next to him while he's sleeping to do homework and the kid gets little negatives. >.< Never happened until…
  • Okay. So I'm currently starting this out after spending *hours* (Like, literally) emptying neighborhoods and then fiddling with them so that all family homes fit the bill of 1890's style, family dress, etc.... And I was wondering if the children could possibly have the Social trait. Cause I don't see why not? Or maybe, to…
  • So. I'm doing this challenge and it's seriously not *that* difficult if you can micro-manage pretty well. Like... for the most part my little tots aren't getting 'enough' attention/fun. But they're always fed, and now that over half of them can go potty on their own it'll free up a lot more time for my Sim to play with…
  • The things you learn by saying 'eh... I'm done watching you.'
  • Oh. I'm doing alright (so far) without nanny's, butler's, or help from anyone else. ProTip: Put them on the potty and then click off and walk away to train another. They'll stay there (and get attention if you're in the room!) until they're doing 'going'
  • I'm trying this with the money is no object theme that James used. And I'm doing alright. I'm not fretting that they're all attention hungry little monsters, and that they don't want to have fun without me. Meh, little boogers. Instead, I'm focusing on teaching them potty skills, being fed, and bath's when needed. The rest…
  • Simder. It's a screenplay I picked up at the old bookstore in Windenburg and it gives me something to do when Melina is napping. (Created through Gen family) Where was your First Kiss?
  • And now it seems that Toddlers came out while I was sleeping, and so now I have to attempt this Challenge with a Teen/Toddler combination bc the idea is too cute to pass up. ~.~ Thankfully I have the first part of the 'P.O.R-S.' Challenge written up so I can test out the method of it. Woohoo!
  • I think you *can* do this, actually. So long as you do an open market and make sure to have at least one cash register, and list it as retail (also make sure to 'own' it at least once to price everything) and it should work however you like, with whatever items you choose. It just won't ever go away and change itself up…
  • btw - sorry for the Spam. I'm just super excited! I might have actually come up with a Challenge I've not seen, that others might enjoy as much as I have!! So after this play through, when I have all the rules, explanations, etc written up, I'm going to do one more test-run with siblings (one teen, one child) and see how…
  • It's totally do-able. :) My Teen Sim continues to not talk to adults unless they're parents of her teen/child friends, and then only at 'events' that she's invited to now that she has access to her phone again. Her apartment is almost furnished minus the pots for the flowers she's going to grow. (Decided if she wants…
  • Hahahaha! After Elyptica finally saved up about 3000 simoleons, she rented her first apartment and then went to the store to get some furniture. By the time she came home, I realized she forgot the stone AND toilet in lieu of a radio and tv plus single stand for both. I'm such a random, "oh shiney" shopper.
  • BTW: Elyptica recently 'faked' her way into the bar and is trying out the Bubble Blower for the first time. She noticed it and decided 'why not' but she went there because she wanted to Dance and her fun was dangerously low. The Clay just wasn't doing it for her anymore.
  • First: SO MUCH FUN!! Second: I hadn't heard that, but I agree about the hybrids. Kinda excited for this generations Vampires in a way I wasn't for the last one. Third: Yeah. I want it to be a play-through where people can pick up the 'rules' or whatever, and just play it. They don't have to test it, because I already have.…
  • After the initial two weeks things seem to be going about as smoothly as the first play-through. I haven't even used the homeless shelter once! Also: Working on a set of 'rules' or guidelines that is a bit more concise and followable for anyone who might want to try this. It's been super, super fun both times.
  • The flow for the challenge was fairly easy. I'm thinking my nice Hotel and Perfect grow-ables played a large part in this, so I've restarted the challenge with a few modifications. First: "Hotel" is really a shack with a camper bed, cheap toilet, cheap bath. Same rules apply -- 30 Simoleon's for a night. Second: She's not…
  • Not yet. o.o And this is odd for me. I've usually got them in a solid relationship by half-way through. So I'm thinking it might be sub-consciously on purpose bc her focus is really on school and upgrades (Apartments/Clothes) so she can 'fit in' better with her peers. Perhaps at the next Romance Festival, when everyone is…
  • Hmmm. I'm thinking like a "Teen: Town to City Orphan" or something like that. In my 'story' my Sim didn't run away. Her father was murdered! As she didn't want to end up in the Social System, she decided to tough it out on her own until she could make it alone. (Hence no adults and no school UNTIL she has her own place.)…
  • Okay. Here's where I'm at so far.... Here’s pretty much *all* of what I’ve done so far in my Teen Challenge that ‘differs’ slightly from the rules. I decided to renovate an apartment (City Living Expansion Required) as all of the Legacy Challenges begin with house creation and I desired something different with my Teen.…
  • ~.~ In all actuality I notice I'm playing it a bit to the formula used in the Sims Playstation versions of the games. Where you had goals you had to complete before moving to the next step of the challenge. (New house, new goals) Ever play that??
  • I will definitely do this! That is -- I'll write down all the stuff I did to make my challenge what it is for me, and once I'm done I'll edit it all to what worked, and figure out how to make it if it doesn't. :) And nothing against families. I love them. I love the Generational Challenges -- I plan on turning this into…
  • Yay! It's 30 and I'm there. Boo. :( You have to have a URL thingy and I'm so computer not savy. Anyhoo- I have written stuff on some of my past plays, but as I'm not really talking to anyone but myself, and I'm full of new, random idea's to interest me more in the game (thanks for the compliment, btw!) it seemed redundant.…
  • Other little type things I'm doing are things like... No make-up until she purchases the little nail kit decoration from one of the shops. No other outfits until she buys them from the stores. (Though one outfit counts for a 'new' PJ/Swimwear combo or it's just too bloody expensive!) etc, etc, etc.
  • I am! I wish, I wish, I wish I could post pics. Because I'm not blogging it, except in my head and through the pic's I take. When do I get to be able to post pic's here?? Or how do I become able? Also: Yes, the furniture is still more expensive by my sim buying it, despite that I knocked the price-up down to 15%. I wasn't…
  • Also note: MOST of my vegetables/fruits are from a park or garden-diner I made for other play-through's. As a matter of fact, all of NewCrest is my creations to help make her life a bit easier to adjust to. Of course she had to wait for them to all vegetate. But still. Now that she has her own place she also has three…
