A Musical Lottery! First prize 500SP :) winners announced, pg 7!

I'm getting a little addicted to these lottery things...this will be my last one before the christmas sales :)

Basically, I'd like to use you all to update my Spotify playlist! I'm currently training for a half marathon I'm doing in the Spring, and I'm getting bored of my running playlist so I would love you to recommend me a track to add to it!

I enjoy all genres of music so anything is fine, it doesn't even have to be upbeat 'running' type music as I like a good variety - music from any decade and country is fine too. Ideally I'd like to try some songs I've never heard of before, but I don't exactly have my finger on the pulse these days so as long as you avoid Rihanna/One Direction/Adele etc I'm sure I'll be thrilled with your choice :D

So, the rules:
Nominations: Everyone may have 2 nominations, you can include yourself but you don't have to. I won't count multiple nominations so it might be worth checking whether someone has already been nominated first.

Closing Date: Friday 30th November, 8pm GMT

How to enter: Please recommend 1 track you think I should try. I'd love it if you also shared why you like the song, but you don't have to!

Prizes: 1st Prize - 500SP
2nd Prize - 250SP
3rd Prize - 125 SP

Drawing: I'll number the list of entrants, and use random.org to draw the winners.

.... I think that's everything, I'm looking forward to your suggestions!

How fun! Tracks? Well..The beatles are always my favorite.

O-bla-di O-bla-da, and Lady Madonna, always make me so happy and want to dance and get up. It's pretty nice. :)

Mmm, music, one of my favorite things in the world.
    I can suggest/recommend:

Amy May - Real (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxb2Z7fZ8s4). Strongly recommended, because her voice is just amazing AND I think we can all relate to feeling what she sings about.
Sanne Salomonsen - On a night like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ohOnVrz1eI - and I am certain you don't know this, cause she's danish ;))
Culture Club - Karma Chameleon (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmcA9LIIXWw - VERY old song, but uh, still makes me dance. First time I danced with a boy was to THIS song! :D)
Anything with Depeche Mode! Because well, Depeche Mode!
Erasure (anything! but specifically) - Oh L'amour (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyOOYn3A_6I)
John Denver - Leaving on a jetplane (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4hsC0nRvZM - another oldie, but greatie)
And just about anything by Sam Tsui that you can find on youtube. The guy has an AMAZING voice, but his version of "King of anything" is particularly awesome - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hWMuDVdC0Kk

I hope some of these are usable. I'd love to throw my entire music library at you, but 170 CDs and 106 gigs on a harddrive may be a biiiit much :D

Oi. Erh, I guess I should nominate me: http://store.thesims3.com/myWishlist.html?persona=DolphineQ
I'd also like to nominate yabajen: http://mypage.thesims3.com/mypage/yabajen

DolphineQ, thanks! There's a few there I haven't heard of before so I'm looking forward to trying them, and John Denver! I've got Thank God I'm a Coutry Boy, Country Roads, and Montana Sky on my list but you're right, Leaving on a Jet Plane should be on there too!

I figured there'd be at least one you didn't know already ;).
Some of these are from when I was a kid, some from my youth years and some are fairly recent. I just kindda fall in love with a song and then boom, I'll always love it.
And oh, since you're training for a marathon, then you know what it's like to work hard for your dreams. So THIS one is surely for you.
Irene Cara - The Dream (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkbXfPk_bKE - from the movie "DC. Cab" and I looove it)
This song has inspired me to push through so many times, especially when I did dance competitions and such. I hope it'll give you a smile on your lips and a ton of determination.

I've never heard this one either, and I *love* inspirational songs! Cheesy as it is, one of my favourites for running is I'll Make a Man Out of You, from Mulan :P

Oh dear I love modern music so much though!

Hmm.. well there's this one song that I'm currently in love with, which, in my opinion, is an awesome running track. It's called She Wolf by David Guetta and Sia. It's a fairly recent song but it's really good. A million times better than Nicki Minaj and all that... nonsense..

I love it because it just gives me goosebumps every time I hear it, and the lyrics and music video inspired my latest story (writing, not sims)! :P

Not cheesy at all, my boyfriend's favorite movie is Mulan and he sometimes hums it without realizing it *giggles*. It's a good song!

CatherynBlue, I love modern music too! I just wanted songs ive never heard of, so I wanted to avoid the songs that are on the radio all the time, I've haven't heard your suggestion though! David Guetta is always a good bet for running, so I'll definitely add She Wolf to the list, thanks :D

Mkay, one of my favorite artists is Butch Walker. He has been around for a long time, but you don't hear him on main stream, for some reason. He works with Pink a lot and has a fun way with music. One of my absolute favorite songs is "Summer of 89" for so many reasons:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcVekkecpTk

    There is the song.

But, the reason it relate to this song so much is because that was my best summer I ever had with my girlfriends. I was 16. just got my drivers license and car. I lived in a small town, so the thing to do was cruising the main drag, making mixed tapes and just being goofy. Gas was under a buck, the music was fun and everyone loved Bryan Adams!

So, I hope you enjoy this song. =)

Snowmoon - thanks, I haven't heard of him before! Looking forward to listening to him. It's lovely when songs give you such nostalgia.

Blysscia - Great song! It's going on the list.

At this rate I'll have enough new tracks to delete Justin bloomin' Timberlake altogether! His songs are good for my running pace, but my goodness they're getting on my nerves now :P

Some songs that I reccomend are girl on fire by Alicia Keys, it's time by Imagine Dragons, hall of fame by The Script, and finally, if you like rappish type music Eighteen Cool by Hoodie Allen. I think that these all would make great running music. These are all newer songs I love new music not really into older music

Kayla - thanks for those, I haven't heard any of them! I hope you get some inspiration here too, for what it's worth my favourite running songs include:
    Rocks, by Primal Scream
Canned Heat, by Jamiroquai (great pace, and the though of Napoleon Dynamite makes me smile)
Suck My Kiss & Give it Away, by Ret Hot Chilli Peppers

XenaCullen - that's a great list! I always like I Wanna Dance With Somebody at weddings, but it hasn't been on my playlist until now!

Readreadreadread - I've got Speak Now by Taylor, but I haven't heard Red so I will give it a bash, cheers

Rocky - Thanks! I'll definitely try Metronomy. Now That We Found Love is an awesome song to run to, it always gets me going again if I'm flagging :D

I love "Walk the Walk" by Poe anytime I need inspiration (from the album Haunted). I fell in love with her music way back in high school and still listen. The song itself is a great reminder to live authentically and not put off your dreams because one day it might be too late.

Ahh i love music, not too sure you will be very familiar with my genre though :)

Ill suggest a few songs i really like from a few different bands ( ill try to keep it clean, i dont mean to add songs with curse words if i do)

Killing is my business...and business is good- Megadeth
Forty six & two - Tool
Briefcase full of guts - Dethklok

lol they sound like such friendly songs huh :) Tool is really relaxed and chill, the others are far more upbeat and heavy.

I'd like to nominate myself and Joolster please =]

Thanks UnwillingDonor! It isn't my usual genre, but I love variety so it's all good to me. There is a System of a Down song that I love running to (can't say the name on here, too rude!) and I'm looking forward to hearing your suggestions
