Petition to put simpoints on 50% off sale for 24 hours so everyone can buy them...

«1
I have been thinking that it would be good for public relations if EA put all simpoint bundles on sale at 50% off for 24 hours for the following reasons. I am not trying to start anything negative, just point on why it would benefit both EA & us their customers.

1. Who doesn't like a sale and I for one tend to buy things when they are on sale that I don't otherwise buy at full price (simpoints being one of those items).

2. With the changes of not being able to gift the Daily Deals there have been a lot of customers that are not happy with this including me. Having the simpoints on sale and more affordable gives us back the option to gift our friends.

3. There have been lots of bugs, items not working well and reasons for some of us to have legitimate complaints. A big sale on the simpoints will smooth over most of those frustrations. I don't want to give the impression that we should not get a bug free product from EA but everyone is human and mistakes are made. I do think there should be much more testing and faster patches to correct errors in game and store stuff. That said I know I would take a 24 hour 50% off simpoint sale and feel better about past poor customer service.

4. Most of us I would think are on tight budgets and will be for the foreseeable future. Putting the simpoints on sale will make them affordable for more of us. I for one like to take a break from a busy and sometimes stressful week to enjoy a few hours of playing sims 3. Having new items keeps me interested in the game so I love being able to download new items from the store.

5. Personally I feel that most of the the store items are overpriced for what you get. If I can stock up on simpoints because they are on sale then it balances out the overpriced store items.

6. EA will make a ton of money during that 24 hours that all the simpoint sets are on sale. Many of us will stock up since we know great sales are few are far between. EA will be happy because they will get more of our hard earned money and we will be happy because we can once again have simpoints and be able to buy some extra to use for gifting items to our friends.

So I am hoping that everyone will sign this and that EA will realize that it will make money for them and it will make us as customers happy :) I realize it is a long shot but nothing ventured nothing gained! So lets put our voices together and let EA know we are ready for a 24 hour no restrictions 50% off all simpoint packages.

There was a great sale on simpoints at Christmastime. I bought some then but they didn't last long.

At any rate, they DO put them on sale from time to time -- I once got them at 60% off on Origin (in other words, $4 for 1000 simpoints, a total steal.)

Another sale on points WOULD be nice, though, Store Team! Consider me a signer of the petition.

Isn't this kind of like asking for EA to just give away money? They already put things up for sale everyday so that you don't have to spend as many simpoints. Giving you simpoints at 50% off and then selling items that are 30-50% off - might as well ask them to just give stuff away for free for a day.

They have put them on sale before....

    That would be cool.

And I'll sign this petition--but I personally don't like the terms: 50% off for 24 hours. EA needs to have 1-week monthly simpoint blowouts, I feel, where simpoints can be anywhere from 40-75% off for one week. So one month simpoints will be 50% off for a week, and the next month they might be 40% of or a week, and the next month they might be 75, and the next month they might be 60....

    That would be terrific.

So every month, during a 1-week window, everyone has the chance to save at least SOMETHING and get some simpoints. It would only be for a week at a time, so that'd still leave 21 days of other simmers out there getting simpoints at full price, so it's not like having this sort of deal would KILL EA's already-fat wallets.

Come on, EA--give a little!

    I've only got 22 simpoints left~!

Just thought a sale would be fun and it has been awhile since they have had a big one. I know that I would like to stock back up on simpoints and be able to gift others once I have more simpoints again. This was only meant to be a fun suggestion not get people upset.

I for one really like sales and it is easier to spend hard earned money when I know I am getting a good deal. :)

Yes! Yes! I would love a 24hr simpoint sale! I would definitely partake of this sale if it were to occur. I would pout and pout to my hubby to get to spend more money at this sale. I cannot resist a good deal :D

Actually, July is coming soon and the 4th of July is almost near, meaning they will have sales on multiple sets in a matter of 1 week, and hopefully they will have a simpoint sale code for it.

But it doesn't hurt to ask right? ;)

    I've got 14!

If they had a simpoint sale I would buy some more, but as it stands I will have to wait. I just hope if they ever have a sale that it is not restricted to the US only or something like that.

    I'm signing!

Even though EA has allowed for six point sales in the past, it has been a long time since I have gotten a bundle on sale. It also helps justify the purchase when I tell my husband how much content I'm able to get when the points are on sale.

Peaches327 - I am right there with you  It is much easier to explain a purchase if it is on a great sale. The simpoints very rarely go on sale so I just use that logic to explain making a larger purchase. Right now I am almost out and it would be a great start to summer to have a big sale so I can get more stuff for my game and gift others.

If they do have a sale I hope it is soon since I like some of the new sets that have been coming out.

    I will sign this.

I really wish we could just buy SP in increments of 100 - THEN I would be purchasing in small amounts all the time because it wouldn't feel like I'm spending so much.

As of right now, I will ONLY ever spend SP on sale items, and I fear the sets I like will never go on sale.

I agree. I got a 50% off coupon in my email a few days ago (and customer "service" said that it was randomly generated, so not everyone got the email) but their stupid website won't let many people including myself purchase simpoints, and now the coupon is expired and it's THEIR FAULT and they tried to act like it was mine. I'm so sick of this, EA. JUST DO SOMETHING RIGHT FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE, PLEASE!

Sign me up! I think it's a great Idea. I get all my sim points via my phone and there are almost no deals for purchasing points that way and it's one of the most expensive.
That said.... i need to get myself a credit/visa card at some point.

^ ^ this and if they were on sale, I'd be able to convince the husband to let me buy more than usual (and the usual is not very much or very often  )

I think a simpoint sale here at the store is better than EA sending out emails to a select few and from what I hear the codes don't work some of the time.

    I would love this. :)
In my opinion some of their sets are over prices anyway and a 50% off sale would make up for some of their lesser quality releases.

Can't argue with that. :) Plus, I think it would actually be a huge revenue generator--when sales happen, people are likely to spend more than they normally would. Come on, EA--give a little, and I'm guessing the returns will actually be HUGE!

I'd love a sale, I've already spent $50-$60 on simpoints in the last month getting a buinch of stuff I wanted, it would be nice to pick some up on sale too so I don't feel like such a fool buying a bunch of silly little thins for the price of a whole expansion :)

I know I only buy simpoints when they're on sale, so it would be nice for them to have a good sale. I need more so that I can buy some of the neat sets that have come out lately!
