@Karnzter: Are you still in need of help ? If you are at 1.31 and have the collections folder, you can use any patch you want to go to 1.33. If you don't, you need to make the decision if you want them or not. The only important thing is to get the incremental from 1.29 to 1.31. If you are at 1.31, it does not matter anymore.
@erinmblair19: If you are at 1.32, super patch is the only option. There is no incremental. If you patches with incremental from 1.29 to 1.31 you're fine.
@NovaTerrian: No idea. You can use the crash log analyzer from ModTheSims to analyze that and see what it says

My game is working! But there is one problem. I can't reinstall any of my CC. A message will all of a sudden pop up saying that sims 3 has stopped working. I have nopw clue why since I believe my game has been fixed.
Are those Mods/CCS up-to-date with w/e official patch you have installed?

*facepalm* I did not think of that. No none of them are. I will get the updated versions.
EDIT: Itried and still won't work. And also before with updates I have never had to update all of my CC. And now my game isn't working.
Try removing your TS3 folder out to desktop -> Launch the game -> Create new game and play it for a bit(the game should recreate new TS3 folder,don't worry)
See if you can play the game at all.
If not, put the folder back...

And any one else helping with this fix. My Sims game is updated to 1.33 and seems to be working just fine. In fact, it is working better than it has since I bought it. That hasn't been too long ago, so I wasn't hampered by any extra content. I only played it for about an hour or so but I've not seen any flaws in my game play yet. No stuttering, no freezing, no game stopped responding. Its just smooth and seems very much like the game I imagined I would get when I bought it.
I did add the game to my DEP file just for GP. Then I followed your patching instructions exactly. All the while checking that I had a contents folder with 17 files in it. When I started the game, it just worked. On high graphics settings, no less.
Now if I can just summon up the courage to attempt to install Ambitions.
I have to admit I don't fully understand all this but as ellacharm3d at MTS found, the super patch and the incremental patch don't put your game in the same state. There are differences between them, especially the creation of the showtime collections folder.
The Collections folder is not created if you use the super patch and there might be other issues:

Actually this is false. I was on 1.32, then restarted my computer. Once i opened up my launcher it updated my base game to 1.33.
So no, the super patcher is not the only option
I can't find direct link to the Super Patcher version 1.33 :S
