Game Won't Update?

Mac os x, version 10.5.8, 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 duo, NVIDIA graphics card... I have pets, and yes I do still have the horse crashing problem, but I'm trying to update my game and it keeps saying:
"Please re-install"
does that mean re-install the game? It WILL NOT update.. anyone have any suggestions?
