I love Bridgeport. It's is my absolute and only favorite world in the sims 3. But, every time I start a new game, I always find myself editing the world before I play it. Then I wanted all my edits saved,so i saved my edited Bridgeport into one non-played save. So when I want to start a new game in a Bridgeport I liked instead of the boring EA Bridgeport, I go into the un-played save, and click Save As. Once that's done, I made a new game in my version of Bridgeport without having to do all the edits all over again. So I have edited this save for years by adding new lots, new neighbors, and new objects as expansion packs are released so I can still play my Bridgeport with new EP content. Then, I thought "What if I can upload this version of Bridgeport? Would this version change people's perspective on Bridgeport?" But seeing that my version is a save and not a packaged file and I don't know how to use CAW, I disregarded it.

But, thanks to a fellow simmer, I found out that I can upload my saved world just as a save, and other people can download it.

This is my version of Bridgeport!
Screenshot-629.jpg"width=600"

First off, The Hills. I've added 3 more houses and a fishing spot(for unicorns to appear) on the left hand side. there are celebrity families that live in each, except the smallest one. there are sims that live in the small one, but they're not celebrities.
Screenshot-666.jpg"width=600"

As we go up the Hills, there were 2 parks here which i removed. That white house was built by me. Its a party mansion, like the rest of the houses, but it has a lot more bedrooms and bathrooms, and the best views. This is the only thing that is entirely made by me. the celebrity that lives here is not mine though :P . near that is the Equestrian Center, conveniently located for celebrities who want a horse. Some celebrities who live on the Hills do already have horses. You might occasionally see them running up and down the Hills :-)
Screenshot-668.jpg"width=600"

This is a close up on the house I built. This is actually my first Sims 3 house.
Screenshot-669.jpg"width=600"

Some changes to the houses behind the school.
Screenshot-672.jpg"width=600"

I removed those God-awful color houses and put these here. These houses are from alexspoom13's world Metrotopia. I thought these would be perfect here.
Screenshot-670.jpg"width=600"

I upgraded this pre-exsisting house.
Screenshot-671.jpg"width=600"

Now we move at the Bridgeport Acres park in front of the school and the street next to it. I added GEN objects and a wedding spot. Next to it is the grocery store, the fire station, and the Red Rendezvous from Twinbrook, which I made into a coffeehouse.
Screenshot-673.jpg"width=600"

I made big changes to the R.R.
Screenshot-685.jpg"width=600"

Added ST objects and buffet table, in case your sims are hungry.
Screenshot-682.jpg"width=600"

Turned the empty second floor into an arcade mixed with LN and ST objects.
Screenshot-683.jpg"width=600"

Put dual stages on the third floor. One for ST performers, other for LN bands. The R.R. is best of both worlds! :-)
Screenshot-684.jpg"width=600"

In Mariana Field, I put the ST park stage, and GEN objects.
Screenshot-675.jpg"width=600"

All the LN venues are still here in my version, and there are two extra clubs I squeezed in for more variety. One of them is located behind the library called the Cobra, the dance club from Coasterboi's world Los Aneigos.
Screenshot-674.jpg"width=600"

The other one is located near the business complex. It's a disco club called The Metro. This was supposedly a Late Night pre-order item for those who are from Europe.
Screenshot-676.jpg"width=600"

I replaced the Llama Co stadium with the Binder Clips Center, for Big Show performances
Screenshot-680.jpg"width=600"

Speaking of ST venues, over to the industrial district behind Waylon's Haunt, there is MN8 the Live Show venue, and P.U.R.E. Warehouse the Private Show venue. I added LN objects and buffet tables for both.
Screenshot-677.jpg"width=600"

I redid the layout for the Banzai Lounge. added ST objects, of course.
Screenshot-681.jpg"width=600"

At the Butterfly Dome, I saw a little altar that I thought would be perfect for weddings.
Screenshot-678.jpg"width=600"

***Supernatural Update***

Next to the Butterfly Dome, I placed the Fae Ray Arboretum
Screenshot-967.jpg"width=600"

Inside the dome, I added 4 fairy houses, and put the Fountain of Youth (store item) in the center.
Screenshot-1389_zpse6baf3b4.jpg"width=600"

At the Bridgeport Eternal Rest Cemetery, I added 2 fairy houses, a broom arena, and the Vault of Antiquity.
Screenshot-955.jpg"width=600"

Not a lot of people know this, but under the cemetery was a secret vampire hideout, which I upgraded.
Screenshot-968.jpg"width=600"

Across the street from the cemetery, I put the Elixir Shop.
Screenshot-1151_zps76e14a6a.jpg"width=600"

As you go up the hill past the cemetery, there is a wooded area with a huge lake where I placed the Supernatural Hangout named "Moon" I downloaded this lot from the exchange from a simmer named Antonouza.
Screenshot-1085.jpg"width=600"
Screenshot-1086.jpg"width=600"

Next to Moon, I placed the 🐸🐸🐸🐸 Wagon.
Screenshot-1392_zps44d92bc8.jpg"width=600"

***Seasons Update***

Updated the Prosper Room by adding two slot machines and a Blackjack table(Store Items)
Screenshot-1714.jpg"width=600"

Upgraded the top floor of the gym by adding a Sauna Room with two saunas(store), another room with 3 massage tables(store) and a hot tub, and two diving boards to the pool. Also added 3 pull-up bars and a professional bar to the workout floor. Turns out gyms have their own set of drinks, some help you build skills quicker.
Screenshot-1778.jpg"width=600"

Updated the poolside club Aquarius with a diving board to the rooftop pool, and a dance floor in the inside bar, for when it's too cold to go on the rooftop.
Screenshot-1780.jpg"width=600"
Screenshot-1848.jpg"width=600"

Made the schoolyard a real schoolyard by adding 2 basketball hoops(store) hopscotch court, jungle gym, and spring riders.
Screenshot-1847.jpg"width=600"

Update the Red Rendezvous by adding 2 arcade basketball hoops, 2 pinball machines to the arcade floor, and a gumball machine on the main floor(Store Items)

Screenshot-2_zpsb488e609.jpg"width=600"Screenshot_zps8fc000d5.jpg"width=600"

Built a new house on the bottom of the hills using blueprints. It's called the Urban Mansion. It's also in my studio: http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=7431358

Screenshot-3_zpsdba20da7.jpg"width=600"

Deleted the hospital and science lab and added a combo rabbithole instead, in place of where the old science lab was. It's the one from Starlight Shores called Holy Cow Memorial Hospital. (In case you're wondering, all the premades from both workplaces had their jobs transferred here)

Club Aquarius has been updated with a pool bar, waterfall, & pool slide
Screenshot_zpsd14a8e52.jpg"width=600"

Screenshot-274_zpsa844a15b.jpg"width=600"

Some other changes I made:

As of 10/14/13

- Added 2 empty lots for you guys! One next to the film studio, other behind the Festival Lot.

- Added the Barrier to Entry System store item to the Big Show venue, Private Club venue, and the Live show venue.

- Deleted one of the hidden islands due to routing/lag problems

- Removed the 4 ports in front of the Butterfly Dome (the area is barely routable for houseboats to dock, still can pass through, but cant dock)

-Added Surf Station store item to the beach and the fishing spot.

-Deleted parking spaces on all community lots and replaced them with decorative one with fake cars for realism & to reduce lag.

-Added the comic book register to the Consignment store.

-Added LN objects to ST venues and vice versa. there's a nice mix of objects to each venue. LN & ST are better together!

-Your sims will not be denied access to any LN clubs, except Plasma 501. To me vampire lounges are unique, and access should be limited. You have to be a vampire, or a celebrity (any level) to get in. Other than that, all the other clubs welcome anyone. there are bouncers at some clubs, but don't worry, there just there for realism :P

-Added a LOT of residents! None of the new residents are made by me. These are sims from other worlds. they're are sims from Los Aniegos, Appaloosa Plains, Hidden Springs, and Starlight Shores. I added this many to have more variety of sims, and to have that crowded city feeling. You will never see the same group of sims at a venue, which is what I tried to achieve. The original Bridgeport residents are still here.

- Several households, both new and preexisting, now have pets.

- Added several premium content items from the Store. You don't need to have all the Store items in order for the save to work. Any items you don't have will simply won't be there.

- No Custom Content.

Just so you won't confuse this save with another, I named it Hollyweird. Very fitting

This is NOT a package file. This is a save!
When you download it, put the Hollywierd.sims3 folder into your Saves folder.

If there are any glitches, please post them here.

Hope you enjoy a Better Bridgeport! :-)

This is awesome! I loved Bridgeport and even had a save updated to pets a while ago. Sadly my computer got a virus and I lost the save. I've been too lazy to do it all over. Thank you for sharing this!

A better Bridgeport? Yay providing that means you got rid of those gosh awful, lag creating, dizzy headed high rises with their bad elevator shafts. Then it is a better Bridgeport a little bit.

But anyway looks like a good job considering you had to work with Bridgeport.

Thats a little harsh Writen_Reg. I enjoy city style worlds as long as the world itself is really well made and the layout of the city and it's streets are easy for sims to walk/drive around in and on a grid. And the world has to have character. I know city vs. suburban vs. country is all a matter of preferance, and thats fine, but some of us really do love BP for it's uniqueness and for "what it is" for better or worse. BP is what I like to think of as a beautiful disaster as far as it's faults go. Lovely to look at, but a pain to play. Overwatch solves the lemons and other issues and the highrises don't bother me if there is at least two elevators in them.

To each their own. But the high rises are faulty - no fault of the players, and unless you rebuild all the shafts in every one the world does not hold up for very long. Never mind they affect as many players that like cities as those that don't when they bounce. So unfortunately people who use these in their worlds rarely get those players no matter how much they like cities.

I'll admit I don't like cities - and why I live in the Mountains. They don't bounce.

I did like the design of the Bridgeport map, and when I think of a better Bridgeport it is without the high rises. Harsh or not - I have every right to feel that as you guys feel as you do. Sorry you find that offensive, but I don't download worlds with highrises because of their problems. No body can fix the bounce even if they fix the elevator shafts. I have yet to see anyone go more than a couple generations in BP before it glitches out.

I've not encountered issues with the highrises yet, Writin_Reg. Is that a problem limited to Bridgeport, or any lot with an elevator? Maybe there is some error with the Bridgeport lots, I know ellacharm3d on MTS corrected the Bridgeport routing so I wonder if it would be possible to make a fix for the apartments?

I do know when Geminiagree and elmawa made their worlds that both had to redo all the elevator shafts as all the testers had problems with all the highrises. So to my knowledge the only way to fix the highrises is good old fashioned rebuilding of all the shafts in the world.

There is nothing you can do about the bounce. It is especially bad if a person has vertigo (I do) or epilepsy or prone to migranes with aura. It makes us instantly nauseous the second that bounces. It bounces when you try and redecorate or if while playing the camera slides a millisecond outside the apartment. It's like somebody hitting you with a cloud of the worst case of nausua possible. I cannot see how it is possible to make it stop that.

Anything over two floors has always bounced in the sims, but it was never as severe as it is with high rises.

It's a shame too as I love the vamps and the clubs, but can't play BP unless I remove every highrise in it. Sort of silly to have it a city then.

Between those two problems though has to be the cause Bridgeport does not hold up. I actually played an altered Bridgeport where all the holes were fixed on the map some time ago - it was before Pets came out I believe - I used Overwatch and the world still deteriorates and gets very unplayable even before you can raise up one generation of sims.( I am not sure if that was hers or not.) The only way I could play that map was to stay on housing side and only use the lower clubs. I can't see how they can fix it myself.

There's a camera fix that works up to patch 1.33 that may help with the 'bounciness' of the camera:
    http://modthesims.info/d/423537
I've not tried it myself, so not sure if it fixes the issue you're talking about.

But for the elevators, the world I'm currently playing has elevators in several shell buildings (residential and community), and I'm not having any issues after 5 generations. So maybe it's a problem specific to Bridgeport. It is cited as being one of the more buggy EA worlds!

You are probably right. I'll have to check into that camera thing and see. Thanks.

I'm not sure but I believe both Gem and Elmawa solved the problem by rebuilding the elevator shafts in their worlds.

So I do know it is fixable anyway. Did you use the shells and build your own? It seems that is the ticket.

You would know if you have the problem as it happens right off the bat. I do not believe it is the elevators theirselves, but it seems if they are built outside the world then moved into the world - it's like the shafts shift. It's very weird - but once it is fixed it seems to stay fixed in at least CAW worlds. I had nothing but trouble though trying to use some user built ones that worked perfectly in the worlds they were in, but fouled up when I moved them from my library into my own save file. It is true though the Bridgeport high rises are the very worse.

But anyway, thanks for the info. I would love to at least have a few brownstone type apts in a town if that camera fix helps that anyway. I know several simmers just like me who will also appreciate knowing that if it fixes it.

@Writin_Reg I see what you mean. I've had problems with the elevators in The Prosper Room and the Plasma 501, so I replaced those elevator shafts with new ones at those places in this version. Other buildings seem fine to me.

One thing I didn't like was the speed of the elevators. I use this mod to fix that: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=433745

@MATZ Thanks! Glad you love it!

Yes, I built my own from scratch. Maybe it's a lot level issue, like when you sometimes have windows leap out of their wallmask when you place a library lot on uneven ground.

Simsample, just wanted to let you know it slows it down some, which might help some people but not enough for me to handle it - besides it has the disadvantage of making the camera view awkward and a bit hard to manipulate. Probably a lot to do with not being used to it.

I just think for now I will go back to the regular way the camera works and continue to avoid the high rises. It is not enough just to slow it down for me anyway - but thank you for the info, as it may help a couple of my simming relatives who don't have vertigo - as their chief complaint was the speed at which the camera drops, and it does seem to help that a lot.

    Hey simsfan. :)

It looks really great. I recognised the houses immediately, although it looks like you made some changes to them. I'm glad you liked them. :)

Sorry it didn't completely solve your problem, but it's good to know it helps a little. Maybe it's possible to manipulate the figures a little more to make high rises playable for you. :)

Thanks! When I first saw those houses in Metrotopoia, I fell in love with them. They look exactly like the houses I live by!

Thank you so much for bringing my favourite world to the next level! :D
I was concerned about my lack of CAW skills in conjunction with the ST and LN incongruence, and I'm so happy that you made this!

Thank again, and it's awesome to see more Simmers that started out young (like myself  , haha!)
