How to locate a graphics card on a laptop?

My laptop have a 4GB RAM and a 500GB hard drive along with 2.3GHz processor. The one thing not good about it is the graphics card. The sims 3 runs smoothly on it but I want it to be even lighter! I was thinking about upgrading it and googled the subject but it got me even more confused, some say that it's impossible to replace the graphics card on a laptop and others say that you can. So my question is how can I locate the physical location of my graphics card to check for my self if it's replaceable.

Click Windows key -> In the box, type dxdiag.exe -> Enter -> run the diagnostic until the green bar on the bottom fills :
1)save the data -> Open the file you just saved.
2) Click on the Display 1 Tab.

Most laptops have the graphics chip on the motherboard and not replaceable. Some have the graphics chip on a socket but the graphics board is unique to that model and an upgrade would probably cost more then the laptop is worth. Laptops are pretty much what you see is all they will ever be.

I've never heard of a laptop with a removable graphics card before, but anything is possible, I guess...

Regardless, you'll find without a doubt that you have an intergrated graphics processing unit...

That means that it's pretty much welded to the thing...

Since this is only an integrated graphics chip that is soldered directly to the motherboard, it is not removable nor replaceable. The ONLY time a GPU may be replaceable on a laptop is if the laptop already has a dedicated graphics card however usually only really high-end laptops have these, or laptops that are over 17" because since graphics cards are very large it takes a large laptop to accommodate them. A graphics card literally wouldn't fit in a regular laptop.

You have a chipset video chip. The north bridge chip that has the video chip and memory manager along with other circuits. With the memory manager being moved to the same chip as the cpu the north bridge has all but disappeared. These chipset video chips are known to be poor for gaming. Intel's flagship products are the I series chips now. It is strange that Toshiba's last video driver would not be WHQL. There are several version of the C650 so I don't know exactly where to look. It you are looking to improve your laptop you'll probably be better off trading up to a gaming laptop.

Even if you can replace a video card on laptop, it'll cost as much as buying a new one.It's not worth it. If you really want to change it, then you might as well consider buying a new desktop or laptop.
