Im not sure if I understand you correctly.
You mean to say post both links, the one from Unbound and the one from TS3 site?
If that is what you meant, Id prefer not to. Not only will the index become overlinked with just random reposted tutorial links, but the original creators will not get much credit for their tutorial, or be able to answer questions one has about the tutorial.
I prefer to post the one and only original link from where the creator posted. It really does not matter where the tutorial is located since all is required is clicking a link to be taken to the tutorial.
Thanks so so so much DustyDreamer! I personally like slightly retouched in-game shots better than crazy photoshopped ones, so I'm glad that's common practice. You've really helped me start figuring out how these comps kind of work, and I sooo appreciate it.
I use Photoshop and Lineform, as well as sometimes just the simple tools that come with Photobucket. I've edited for stories before, but never to any serious extent.
Oh well, even if I lose right away I'm glad I'm trying it - my New Year's resolution was to not be so intimidated by the Sim modelers. :shock:
And we all have to start somewhere. Try not to be intimidated, and know that you are a newcomer to the editing world, whereas others are seasoned or have competed before. As well as try not to put your entries down! I have no idea why some do this, but never put your own entry down. You know how much work you did, and should be proud. :}
I really recommend LadyEm's school for you, try it out. ;}
For photoshop new users I suggest the following tutorials:
There is surprisingly not much for newcomers not wanting to draw hair or cut sims out for background replacements. ><
Once again I suggest LadyEm's school (linked in my above post) for you.
here is my tut on image changer and poseplayer its simple and easy, i don't know if it would fit here but you can decide as it is a frequently asked question
- Added a subcategory to the Skin's tutorial. 'TC04-2 Skin Editing: Gore Effects'. Found an awesome new tutorial compilation by Vana on Unbound about creating bruises, cuts, blood, etc onto your sims. :}
- Added a whole new category called 'Drawing Jewelry' to accommodate three tutorials: Bliss's creating & Applying pearls, and LE's creating rhinestones for body art.
- Two new tutorials added to 'Adding Shadows / Effects / Objects / Text'. Both are about adding transparent background to your text work.
- New hair Drawing Tutorials from Vana at Unbound added.
- Three new tutorials added to the Makeup & Eye Enhancement categories: Reiya's thread of makeup tuts, Rey's eye brightener, and Bliss's adding eyelashes tutorial.
- Added Bliss's Hosting 101 tutorial to the Hosting a Modeling Comp category.
do you know if there is a tut for teaching beginners about using the color curves. I have gimp but could probably translate it from something else.
I'm told curves is a good way to edit picks, but i wouldn't know where to start.
Like not drawing it on the picture, but having it so you can use it on sims?
Making CC hair is a long and difficult process that requires prior knowledge to meshing. I would try over at mod the sims. They have tuts there as well as what programs you need.
