It's an honor to have you, Anju. And I agree. It's time for a smaller project!

Dieter, cool. I'll have to try that.

So glad you're feeling better, Annie. :)

Congratulations Anjubee! It'll be a lot of fun seeing what you come up for us! And I'm so happy for you too Addict! I know this must get overwhelming, and you do such a fantastic job I'd hate for us to burn you out. lol.

I'm also loving the separate thread for new build. I like the idea of this one for instructions, chat and questions, and a separate for just the submissions.

Oh, and I am so in on this one. Starters are a blast and I've been working on a few anyway! :D Yay!

Oh, and thanks for the grats. /blush. I honestly thought it was a bug on my page that the little falling star was on there at first.

    <==feeling very blonde.

This looks like a fun challenge and I definitely want to enter. I have no idea what level I should be entered at, however. I'm definitely NOT a pro. I just started building in this game, so I have a few months experience?

A couple links (unfortunately, I clean out my studio every so often, so a lot of my builds aren't there anymore):

    Good vs. Evil Castle: http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=490011

Combined rabbit hole lot with hotel I built: http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=680625

Of course.. Yin Yang Town Square: http://www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=735565

Please let me know which one I should enter under. Thanks! :)

Also, thank you, Addict and Anjubee, for running this weekly challenge, it really adds so much to the game for me. I really appreciate it.

I so want to join this one. I hope I get some time this week. Starters are my FAVORITE!

I was wondering about my level. I would guess beginner/intermediate since I have built loads of houses and sort of have the hang of it. But I am still lacking in some areas (dont use cheats except wand from awesomemod - is that allowed?) and have never entered a competition.

What do you think, does beginner/intermediate sound ok for me?

Edit: Failed at spelling and the English language

I will try to take a look at people's builds tonight to guess at levels. Let me know if there are any pics I can check, as those are most helpful.

Off to get some dinner! :D

Special thanks to Builders Boulevard for posting such awesome tutorials. I used this one for this challenge http://mikeinside.modthesims2.com/building/splitlevel/index.html Also special thanks to MoOose69 who tipped me that I could take my house pictures while in terrain paints so that the grid won't show on split level. A very very special thanks to Addict, who did a wonderful tutorial on building starter homes. I did use the roofing floor for this certain build and it saved me. I also didn't know about the placement of the mailbox affecting your picture on upload, awesome. I think I got a pretty good picture when I uploaded so i'm happy!

About the build: It was really hard for me to keep in that budget, wow! However, I was determined to do a split level to get more practice in. It costed more but it was worth it to me. Hope you guys enjoy!

    Wow, Kit10. That was quick!

Will check out that link, too.

EDIT: Ohh, I think you need to take the period off the address to the link. That made it work for me.

Currently working on my starter, hopefully I'll have enough to furnish it.(I'm horrible at starters) But I do have a small tip for everyone. If you cover your foundation with the "Pool Wall" under tile, you can save $2 per foundation edge. Just change the style of it to whatever you want.

Good tip, Yesac. I'll have to remember to add that to my next tutorial!

I might give it a try too. Though I should really take a break. But I love starters. Would be a nice diversion from sim creation, huge homes with lots of landscaping, and tutorial writing (lots of fun but SO Many pics and steps to break down...)

I'm at work right now, but before I left home I started working on my starter ^_^ I love starters probably as much as Addict. I'm watching the clock waiting to go home and finish work on it. It *should be posted sometime tonight (like late tonight) after I get it all worked out. I hope everyone has fun with this weeks challenge...and thanks Addict for choosing to make this week a starter!

Hi Addict,I'm interested in trying the challenge.I usually build on a larger scale, but i am willing to try this.I have a question.Do we have the family in the house or is it just build the house and enter it?I don't have a problem with adding family, just curious.I'm also not sure of my level.I'm thinking Intermidiate, but i havent really entered any contests before(except one this past week for Levine family)but dont know results yet.
    example of my works:

Anyway,i'll get started on house and see how it goes.Thanks.

Hi, Darkside. Using the family is optional. Some like to include them in pictures and stories, so I try to create one each week.

I didn't get a chance to check people's levels tonight, but I will take a look tomorrow.

So exciting to have some new members coming in. And always wonderful to see familiar faces, too.

    Hooray!
It's so fun to see one of my lots populated with sims. I miss the aspect of being able to "visit" my builds in-game. Thanks so much for the pic, and I'm glad you're enjoying the lot!

She is a snob but she seems to really like her little house hehe. I really couldnt stick her in that horrid trailer thingy.

So nice to see so many new people I really think the old thread was quite intimidating u know.

I have a very specific theme for my starter I hope loads of people wont go for it as its pretty obvious from the families background :3
