Bump. Because I see the gurus are active as of 7 minutes ago and Nichaedemus does far too much on here.

Is there any update since Nichaedemus forwarded it to EA yesterday?

You know what's weird? Even though I had taken photos on occasion in my game, I never really had real interest in making a legacy until recently. So of course the one time I'm really into taking photos and everything seems to go right my game decides not to work.
Granted, the problem probably started from that patch that was released while I was at camp. Looking back, I regret not checking the forums before installing it.

Here is an update on the situation. The screenshot issue has been submitted to the game team for investigation. A fix will depend on whether or not they are able to successfully and consistently replicate the issue on their test systems. If a fix is found, it will be included in the next available Mac game update, possibly in time for the Pets release although there are no guarantees.

In the meantime, for those who are experiencing the issue we would appreciate if you could include as much information as possible, such as but not limited to:

    - Basic Mac hardware specifications (including peripherals)
    - Version of OS X
    - Type of OS X user account being used
    - Expansions and/or stuff packs installed
    - Order in which expansions and/or stuff packs were installed
    - Exact version number of base game and each expansion/stuff pack installed
When you need help with The Sims 3 or The Sims 4, be sure to check out the Master Help Thread today!

Okay so I recently (less than a week ago!) bought a brand new iMac, and was looking forward to play the game on a decent system. Only to find out I can't take screenshots or videos for that matter. Here's my info:

    Late 2011 27" iMac
    3.1GHz Intel Core i5
    AMD Radeon HD 6970M 1024MB
    12GB RAM
    Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2

    Administrator User account

All EPs and SPs - from disc.

All installed in order, patched everything after installing.

    Pets - 10.0.96.013001
Call me stupid but I don't have a clue where I can see the rest? I'm a new Mac user so.. If I need to show more info, point me into the right direction.

Taking screenshots with "C" only works in certain areas in the game, such as in CAS, but not in the neighborhood overview. However, although I can hear the camera sound, the screenshots are not saved to my Screenshots folder and I can't see them in the Launcher either. As for the videos, I can't take those at all.

I would really love to see this resolved sometime soon. I know there are other ways to take screenshots but those aren't convenient and I NEED to be able to take a lot of screens and videos for my website. I don't understand there are so many people with this issue and EA isn't fixing this.

    Hi there,

I just installed Late Night about three days ago, and until yesterday, my screenshots were working just fine. I'm so confused! But here is my computer/game info so hopefully I can get the help I need.

    2010 15" Macbook Pro
    2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
    Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2
Admin account (only account on computer)
    500 GB SATA Disk
NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 512 MB Graphics
    8 GB RAM

I only have the base game and Late Night, installed in that order.

    Base Game: 1.27.5.013001
    Late Night: 6.4.5.010037

All patched and up to date. I keep pressing update, just in case, but no luck :[

I really hope someone can help all of us! I'm in the middle of an amazing legacy, and this really sucks!

I haven't heard any updates about this being fixed, so here's my info:

Early 2011 15" Macbook Pro (~2 months old)
    2.2 GHz Intel Core i7
AMD Radeon HD 6750M 1024 MB
    8 GB Ram
    Lion 10.7.2

I have Sims 3 Plus Pets, Ambitions, and Generations - installed in the order: Base, Ambitions, Generations, Pets. They aren't up-to-date, because the last patch made my game crash every time I entered Buy mode.

I just installed The Sims 3 along with Ambitions, Late Night and Pets (I had the base game installed on my older MacBook Pro from 2008 and I had absolutely no problems with the screenshot saving). I now have a 2011 MacBook Pro that I got last month and since I got the EPs for Christmas, I just installed everything (patching and updating after each install). Today I was trying to get a snapshot in-game and found out I'm having the same issue as everyone else here. Screenshots are nowhere to be found even though it tells me they have been saved to the Launcher.

    ABOUT MY MAC

    MacBook Pro: 15-inch, Early 2011
Processor: 2 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory: 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3
    Storage: 500GB SATA Disk
Graphics: AMD Raedon HD 6490M 256 MB
Software: Mac OS X Lion 10.7.2
Accounts: Only one Admin account on computer (mine)

    ABOUT MY GAME & EPs

    Base Game:1.29.55.014001
    Ambitions:4.9.5.010031
    Late Night:6.4.5.010031
    Pets:10.0.96.013001

    WHAT I HAVE TRIED

    1. Looking EVERYWHERE for a folder where in-game snapshots are being stored.
    2. Uninstalling EVERYTHING (because apparently that is all they tell you to do in Costumer Support)
    3. Reinstalling EVERYTHING
    4. Taking screenshots in Window Mode using CMD+Shift+3/4. This one works, of course; I'd really like to not have to do it this way though.

I'd appreciate any help, advise, etc. I will check this for updates.

    XOXO

Has anyone been able to resolve this issue with the screenshots? I am able to save videos, just not screenshots.

    I am running a mid-2011 iMac
    OS X Lion
    intel core i7
    4GB RAM
    Admin
installed in order (base, high end, ambitions, gen., pets)
Version 1.0 (should I be 1.29?) - I tried to update through launcher and says it's up to date. Should I do a manual update? My mac is not giving versions of my expansions/stuff.

    Thank you.

I spoke with EA tonight and I have no new information from them :(

I finally decided to try my hand at making a generation family, and I found out that I can't take screenshots anymore. I checked my screenshots folder, and the last time there is a registered shot was at the end of May '11. I would love to see this resolved soon!
