Move Camera With Mouse!

Okay, I saw that one other person mentioned this under the "needed patches" thread, and I didn't find any other mentions of it, so I'm mentioning it AGAIN here, because like that other person, it is my MOST HATED part of the new game.

It is, in fact, driving me utterly crazy in what is otherwise a truly delightful game. Having to use the arrow keys on the keyboard to move the camera around is a HUGE pain in the neck. "The Sims" is not supposed to be a two-handed game. Simming should be doable with a mug, a sandwich, a phone, whatever in one's non-dominant hand. I don't mind having to use the keyboard occasionally for rare events like rotating floortiles, typing in commands at the cheat console, etc., but one has to move the camera about every two seconds, and I CANNOT STAND IT. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE fix it in the very first patch.

What is it exactly that you cannot do with your mouse?

I believe you might be having the same problem I was, which was easily solved when I found that there was an option for enabling 'Edge Scrolling' in the Options panel. This allows you to move your viewpoint around by keep your mouse near the edge of the screen that you want to move towards.

Edge scrolling seems to only work in fullscreen games - I run mine windowed and have edge scrolling checked and it doesn't work. Maybe this is the issue preventing mouse movement?

check this thread for a mouse navigation method involving zoom, like how google maps works !!!

lend your support / idea's to the above thread, keep it live.

BLESS YOU!! You've just improved my simming experience by miles, megaWatts, and decibels. That solved the problem.

And blast EA for not mentioning it in the camera controls. Based on the instruction manual, it looks like they want to get our hands on the keyboard more, and I'm not going that way, thank you.
