Only if it frees up a significant amount of memory for your computer. Sometimes having too many programs installed slows down your computer in general.
Edit: Is your computer generally laggy when you try to run programs, particularly graphics intensive ones? If yes, then uninstalling should work. If no, then probably not, uninstalling will not make any significant difference.
I'd actually like to know this too...common sense says yes, but its just so hard to hit the uninstall button. Has anyone uninstalled and seen a significant improvement?
