When will EA make an announcement about the Sims 3 spinoff Medeival game it has developed? Many sim players are into medieval history and have created medieval sims, town, and mods so many, many of us are really wanting some news about the new game series. When will information be formally revealed?

The rumour's been around for a while, but it's currently being talked about at MTS. Rmour has it it'll be a standalone EA Sims game (not an expansion), whereas Space Colony was a sort of Sims-like game developed by Firefly who made the Stronghold series.

    :)

EA has already purchased Domain names for the game's internet site(s) and we believe this is what Humble was alluding to when he spoke of taking the Sims through theme, time, and space at the recent EA event. We didn't see a clip because, as Humble said, of an embargo but supposedly some big game publications did get a peek at it.

The Sims medieval - with the Sims soon in the middle ages?
    written at 5: 59 pm | feedback | comment
It is in the unknown Sims title that you want to appear next year, probably a medieval spinoff the Sims?

This suggests at least a report of superannuation. Therefore, EA has secured among the domains simsmedieval.com and thesimsgetmedieval.com. May is also the title of the third expansion pack for The Sims 3.

What exactly is behind the domain name registration and titled The Sims medieval hides, is still unknown. Once EA itself to do so, we will inform you of.

    RUMOR: The Sims 3 Realm
Posted by simillion on 7 July, 2010 at 11:33 AM22 CommentsThis item was filled under [ News - The Sims 3, Sim News ]
I woke up up to this big, fat unbelievable rumor. We are all curious on the fact of the various domain purchases for The Sims Medieval and this rumor ties into that. Found by SmartSims, there is a listed game called ‘The Sims 3 Realm’ (another word for Kingdom) with a date of March 24th, 2011. Now please, take it as it is – a huge, HUGE rumor. There have been many rumors, not all have been destined to be wrong, but there’s much work and info to get before we call this one confirmed.

I heard about it also. I hope it's real and our sims can become knights, kings, queens, princesses, lords, peasants etc. and have jousts and grand feasts. :)

There was an article on it at TSR today but EA may them pull the piece I heard. There were four screenshots and it was listed here: http://www.thesimsresource.com/news/view-post/post/18586

Something's bound to turn up on one of the other forums though.

It is not an EP. It is a standalone game for PC and Mac and it will be released in the spring 2011. See http://sims.wikia.com/wiki/Medieval

This spinoff offers so many posibilities. I wonder what kind of careers the medieval sims will have. I'm sure instead of having the usual level 1-10 medieval sims have typical guildranks (Aprentice, Journyman, Artisan, and Master). Some careers could be...

    Farmer
    Miller
    Knight
    Blacksmith
    Artist
    Priest
    Rancher
    Inn Keeper
    Trader
    Wizard
    Monarch

Edit: What about all the ages we are used to seeing in TS3, how will they be effected in the Middle Ages...

Baby- Wrapped up in rags rather than the blankets from TS3. Were bottles around in medieval times? If not mabie they should introduce breast feeding.

Toddler- Even medieval folk had to teach their children how to walk an talk. Instead of using a potty, toddler are tought on a chamber pot.

Child- There was no formal schooling in the middle ages (except for the upper class) so i would a imagine medieval sim children would spend their spair time helping their parents or playing with friends.

Teenagers- back then, you were considered an adult at a younger age. Medieval teens don't go to high school, but can get a job as an aprentice. Should they be able to marry and have kids? I doubt it. They are probably too buisy with the apprenticeship.

Young Adult and Adults- grown men and women of the middle ages. They have all privlages available to them.

Elders- The old and wise. A sim who has spent their life in one career should become a master as an elder.

Please Ea don't create Medieval Sims as you did World adventures. Please give us the joy of creating our own families, castles, clothing as in Sims 2 - only 2010 technology. Please bring back memories and weather. Please bring back potions and magic into the game.

Please bring back Body Shop :)

I'm sorry to tell you, but it sounds like it's going to be like WA and even more story-driven. http://kotaku.com/5603171/the-sims-gets-medieval-on-you
Of course, some people like that. Maybe they'll have an option to turn off "story-mode." I guess we'll see when we get more information.

Not only that. It isn't a normal Sims game at all:

"The destiny of the kingdom rests in the players’ hands. Will players build up their kingdom through internal expansion, or perhaps look for a more imperial type of domination, expanding their rule by conquering territories?" (from http://www.ea.com/news/get-medieval-with-new-series-from-the-sims-studio)

When has strategic "conquering territories" has anything to do with a Sims game?

    The announcement also says:

“The Sims Medieval offers a new way for players to experience The Sims which we hope fans will enjoy, and it features gameplay that fans of strategy and role-playing games will find appealing such as controlling an entire kingdom and quest-based gameplay mechanics.”

So it isn't a simulation at all. It is a game with RPG and strategy.
