    1 day create a world, pass it on, updated page 18-19 +

    in The Sims 3 Game Tools


    The .world file is held by one person each day, each person adds their own contribution to it, terrain painting, sculpting whatever, then on the last week lots are added and so forth ... So it could be a little tiny hill sculpted, or massive plots of land, and we shall see where we end up! :D

    I have made the simple basic of the map... However you can change it however you like!

    You can add whatever you like, change it however you like, so long as you re-upload it as a .world file by the end of the day so someone else can add to it. As for themes or styles... well just sim-ish, nothing in paticular just a sim-ish style world. 8)

    This started on the 11/07

    (note: its best to leave lots until after terrain painting is done)

    after downloading ...open up CAW .. open up the downloaded file ..

      no doubt i will wish i would of reserved some space for future use, so i shall do so 8)

      or because of other reasons, please just say so and i will change it the date :)

      p.s it would be good if you can confirm the day before or morning of if you are able to do it, as i would like to stick to the 1 day rule :lol:

      yeah i guess :)!

      you can do whatever you want to the map, as much or as little, if you like you can just focus on your favourite things, just because say a part isn't painted doesn't mean you have to do it :) just work on whatever you feel your best at and most happy about,

      I'd like to do this. So, I get it on the 14th, right? Maybe, to make it a little clearer, you could have a calender at the top of this thread and put people's names down on it once they sign up.

      good idea :)! glad i saved that bit of space now,

      atm im taking 5 to look through the packages, think iv found something quite interesting .. but we'll see about that,

      i will add an overview photo and the file at the top of the page, will be great to see a progressing over-view photo for each day of the month :)

      well if you like i could put you down for a slightly later date? so you have some time to pick up some stuff, and then it'll be mostly touch ups and things ? :)

      How do you get the map into CAW? I've wondered about that. Does it upload as a Sims3pack file? If so, how do you convert it?

      noooo upload the .world file, then you just go to "open .. and find the file"

      someone else can do a distant terrain if they like :shock: just spent an hour with that nightmare,

      going to add a river then its upload time :)

      but its obviously not finished so dont expect too much :)
      atm its sort of like rolling hills, river, one side, and slight beach,
      but anyone can change it :)! guna be great to see how it ends up

      Sorry to bother, but which file do you upload? I always export(because I don't know which file to upload) and it turns into a Sims3pack file for downloads.

      ok ! im just going to upload, i need a break from the pc before i get too angry with CAW :roll: seems alot of the things i try dont turn out right, need to re-learn some CAW skills, lets just say the river didnt turn out right

      anyway pic of it atm, sorry for the messy appearance, but remember this was done in 5 or so hours,

      the next person may change it completely, who knows ... :)

      @ zanysazy if you like keep a eye on it and perhaps when it gets abit more complete you might want to join in to decorate or something simpler :)!

      @roxs if its in that location and has the right file name with .world at the end it is :? once the file is packaged though the .world file within can not be open

      no its fine, what i could do is wait till tonight just to see if EgmondvonSchitzel will confirm if they are doing it otherwise i will swap the dates i guess ?

      the sculpting did my head in :shock: think iv earned myself a coffee 8)

      BTW ... if your not taking part but want to download the .world file and use it, im ok with that, but further down the line once more people have worked on it, i would say probably best to mention that you used it as a template as im not quite sure how others would feel about it being re-uploaded without any recognition for their work, as for personal use, go for it :wink:
