I see right away that you didn't change your cover picture. If you read through the first 5 posts you will find out a lot of information. You will see what is available for you. Changing your cover picture is one thing you will find will increase your downloads. People seem to be attracted to the custom picture more than they do the TS3 default picture. I have recommended your lot and downloaded it. I will take a closer look in game and get back to you with my comments.
I'm going to state this in point form. Please understand I'm just pointing these things out to help you grow as a builder.
- There are no parking spaces in the garages.
- Mansard roofs are unfinished.
- Garbage can and mailbox not CAS'd.
- Garbage can not hidden.
- The roofs of the dormers should blend into the rest of the roof.
- Too many gullys on the roof.
- Three boxes on the side of the house; I'm not sure what purpose they served. They had no roof and nothing in them.
- The layout of the pool is great with the 'islands', although, not really enough room around the pool itself.
- The overall layout of the interior of the floor plan is good.
- The layout of the one kitchen is good, however, the cupboards over the island bar in the second kitchen were hanging in mid air with no support. Why 2 kitchens?
- The furniture was minimal. Only the first floor. I liked the Living room with the TV, however, it seems unfinished. I believe it could have benefited by an area rug, more plants, curtains and artwork.
- The dining room area rug was too small. I should be large enough that when the chairs are pulled back they stay on the rug. Again it seems unfinished.
- Your landscaping looked very nice. I would like to have seen more terrain paint to give the impression of more natural grasses.
I liked the exterior finish you have chosen. I think your bigest problem area is the roof. I'm sure you will have fun and learn from the homework.
Here are a couple of links to houses with dormers. You can download and take a closer look.
I will definitely take note and progress off of what you said. I agree--I have no clue what the boxes serve either. I built them, and realized I didn't need them.
Great job Pinklady. I've left you a comment on 4Shared and downloaded the lot. I love what you have done with this one. I love the double staircase and the wicker furniture.
love all the builds that i've looked at today (thats from pg 360- present) and the this threads moving at a good pace (for me at least) it means i haven't got pages and pages to catch up with!
Lauren Ruth, i'm an amateur picture uploader/ file changer, even though i no a lot about computers.
I found tinypic.com the safest and easiest to use site as u didn't need to register, or give out personal details to upload pics.

Happy belated birthday Jack. Your Victorian looks great. Just a couple of things that bother me are the red shower and the garbage can. The red shower doesn't seem to fit in the bathroom. It stood out to me because nothing else in the house was as red. The garbage can could have been hidden. In real life the garbage can is hidden in the garage or the back yard until garbage day not left out on the curb.
The interiors are beautiful. I love the zebra rug in the bathroom. The rug placement under the beds seems a little too high to me. I mean when your get out of bed it's nice having the rug under your feet not under the side table. I would, myself, have probably used larger rugs in the bedrooms. I love the living room, but again, I think it would benefit from a rug. You furniture placement is great. I love the colours you have chosen for the interiors.
The landscaping is great. I love everything about it, except the garbage can. LOL! I do nit pick about that. The exterior entertainment area is a great idea. If it had rain in TS3, you would be able to move the party indoors. Great job all over. Love it. Looking forward to the upload.
Edit: I just noticed the lighting in the bedrooms. Those modern floor lamps don't really go with the other lighting you have in the room and not with the Victorian theme. I thought you might have forgotten to take out your working lights.
Hey Ya'll~ Never posted here before but thought I would say hello. I look forward to checking this thread to see what kind of builds people are working on. I am working on a Learn to build over at the new forum site http://builders.forumotion.net/forum.htm
Very kind people over there, but not to kind, they tell ya the truth...REDO THE ROOF! Just messing around! So I am working on landscaping my house and I'll post some pictures here when I get it done! Or come by the site and see the WIP. No building for me today though, I was busy chasing my child around! He was in rare form! Hopefully tomorrow...I can landscape!
Hi everybody, I've been busy trying to finish a lot for build n share this week, and then the snow hit and my 3 kids have been home all week, driving me crazy! LOL Anyway, I finally finished it, hopefully in time, so I thought I would post it here to share. I was on a budget and ran out of money toward the end, so no curtains in the kitchen, and there could be a little more decor, especially upstairs. So here it is:
Suburban Garden Home.
This is my entry for week #35 Build-n-Share. It is called "Suburban Garden Home". It includes 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 bathrooms, sunroom, hot tub, pergola, patio area, and even a white picket fence! I hope you enjoy it!

Wow Sherry, it's beautiful. I love that fireplace. You have done wonders with the budget. I love this build. I especially love the colours you used. The landscaping is wonderful too. The house looks so inviting. I've recommended and downloaded.
Thank you very much, Merry. If you have time, will you check and see if the hot tub is still a hot tub? I was told they revert to pools once you upload them and I wondered if that is true for everyone. :?
I'm brand new to Builders101 although I've seen it around and been intrigued.
Brand new to building, landscaping and pretty much decorating too. However, I figure it's about time I learnt to create nice spaces for my Sims to live in (I consider myself more a gameplayer and storywriter you see).
So I'm deciding right now if I'm better of to make some Sims first and build them a house or a house first and create some Sims to live there?
It will actually be my first ever TS3 build :!:
I might add that the 300+ pages is a little daunting and a cheery welcome and some reassurance would be most appreciated

Yes, same palette indoors too

I'm replying to your house again. First time round I only saw the first 2 pic's. So i couldn't really form and opinion.
I agree with MW and i noticed that some windows have curtains and others not. Was that a slip or on Purpose?
The carpet?Rug under the Flower Bed looks a bit small to me.
The rest looks very nice and a job well done!
I Love my CC toooooo.....
