@EA_Cade made that announcement yesterday as an announcement in A Importen Update on the Future of These Forums

Oops, I missed that one! I was probably still trying to work out internal server error to be able to access the new forum!!

It may also not be a completely logical placement since that thread is closed to new comments and thus does not have a lot of traffic ;)
I really hope you get your access issue resolved.

NB: The announcement can also be found in the pink bar at the top of the page.

Giving your users three days to get accustomed to your new forums when you haven't ironed out all of the bugs and issues is a bad choice. I'm seeing a lot of "we care about your feedback", but this short transition time feels like the opposite.

It doesn't feel conducive to a conversation if you're forcing people immediately to use the new forums to discuss why don't want to use the new forums. Especially when some people are experiencing issues with even accessing the forums at all.

Also i noticed i am earning badges that i didnt do, aays i created 250 topics. I hope my old threads werent sent over

@GraceyManor, if your threads met the migration requirements that EA set out, then they got transferred over as I saw some of yours just by searching your name. Yeah, I was a bit confused on why I already had some badges already until I realized that it's from the comments that we've made in the threads as well.

    Here is one your yours.

Well, since I can only access the new forum on my phone, I have started two old game threads that didn't get migrated for my own amusement on my phone, since I can't do anything else there!

Where are your game threads located? The new forum is such a mess. I don't even know where the so called off topic threads are supposed to go to.

@DeKay, right now whatever nominated threads that got migrated over are all located in The Sims Franchise section. I'm hoping that the threads over there get sorted to their proper locations and not kept in the section they got transferred they migrated them back in March.

Is anyone else clicking on the link to the new forums and getting redirected to a post about cars in the new Creative Corner?

for some reason I didn't get any badges for logging in, received/given likes (and yes, someone liked my one of my posts after migration), new threads or replies - is it because I haven't posted anything new?

I’m not happy with that decision, either. I’m sure the idea is to push us to switch over as soon as possible so they don’t have to maintain two sites. But, they should have made sure they had a usable, functioning alternative before they did that. We should have been able to make the switch from one functional board to another, and the issue with migrated topics should not exist. They should have already been moved to categories and ready to access. As it is, we’re moving from a cozy cottage to a fixer upper, and it’s discouraging. Everything is still in boxes, some of the rooms are missing, and things keep falling apart.

I know forums aren’t hip and new, and EA has been laser focused on social media. In the past, I’ve complained that the Sim Gurus are all over Twitter/X, but completely ignore the official forum. But, X has become a toxic wasteland, and Discord is not functional for good conversation. The only format that allows for real community development and creative collaboration is a forum. Unfortunately, the new one doesn’t meet those expectations.

This One Size Fits All forum isn’t working for this particular community, at least right now. Unfortunately, by pushing things before the forum is ready for us, I think they will only push people to bail altogether or to find other alternatives.

    I finally made it!

I had to remove all the links for it to publish.

Why doesn't it trust me? I mean no harm and I don't want to hurt anyone. I just want to show where I got the info from...

Edit. Wait... Why does it disappear when I refresh the page? Why does it say 0 replies?

My username isn't the same over there as it is over here. How do I change it?

    Nevermind. I found it.

Ugh. I'm gonna have to have them locked. I don't want people commenting on it.

These work normally I see. I wanted to include them all into one post, but editing won't go through. There are no links in spoilers posts there.

I require further testing when I get home. If it is less buggy back home, then the conclusion is that bad internet makes that site more buggy, which I'm going to dislike to say the least...

This is a small thing, but to me it's indicative of how low-quality and counterintuitive the new forum is. This

    e9NuKji.png

is the universal symbol for "Settings." But in the new forum, this button is actually for reporting a post. Everywhere else you go on the internet, a FLAG is the symbol for reporting or flagging a post. It's like they decided that universally recognized symbols should mean nothing anymore.

I know right. I was trying to change my username on the new forum. I actually clicked on that and got so confused when it said report member. The new forums are a hot mess.

Why are posts from other game forums showing up in our sidebar? I really don’t care what’s going on in Star Warsville, and it clutters up my page.

I'm not getting any notifications there. I would like to know about replies instead of having to go through and spot what MIGHT be one, but is it?

So I just decided to start from scratch on the new forum and I made a new thread for my story, but after it was published and showed up on the forum page one time, even getting a like, it's disappeared completely. It's not on my page, not anywhere. Was it blocked by anti-spam or was it deleted automatically for some reason? I want to give the new forums a chance but this whole transition is a big, hot mess. This is so frustrating :(

Check your settings, by default the option is

"When I'm following a Forum Discussion, notify me about" : New topics only

The other option is "New topics and replies"
