I hate that the hotel is a rabbit hole because I just kind of hate rabbit hole venues in general and don't use them. It's not gameplay.

BUT. Since Sims 4 always has a bunch of shell buildings smacked down in the center of each town and city, I think that making them rabbit hole activities actually gives them a purpose. As long as they're not taking shortcuts from using real community lots, developing lot types, and lot traits, though. Never at the expense of actual gameplay features, but in addition to them. It does help to flesh out a neighborhood.

That said, I'm noticing that these EPs are definitely skimping on content. It's no wonder Game Packs have been pushed to the side, I think EA has decided to sell us GPs with slightly larger worlds. GPs are supposed to be the deep-focused and niche themes, where EPs were more expansive to a theme. If this was an actual EP, it would have had Wedding Stories plus this content plus Romantic Garden, plus hotels or something. But Weddings were one GP theme and romance is an EP alone without functional hotels, honeymoons, or a new getaway world? Just doesn't add up.

@Breazona I agree about the new world. It's pretty disappointing. I wish sims 4 could alter the rabbit holes like in 3 so the lots can be playable and filled with purchased DLC without using a mod like a rug. :) I would love to see your game if your playing sims 4. :)

Edit: The ability to alter a rabbit hole into a playable lot is worth it for gameplay and storytelling.

My computer glitched out and deleted my entire cc folder so I'm dreading starting that up again to play  But my household is Hinata and his hs sweetheart living in san myshuno as well as his grandma Zhilan (his mom died when he was a kid. i didnt even plan that i just thought surely she won't freeze to death so quickly! and then she did..oops!) I haven't played in a while because I kinda want the gf to leave him since he's so work focused but I love her so I also don't want her to so i'm stuck!

For me, I'd be fine with rabbit holes if the execution was strong. Like the Werewolves pack made their rabbit holes portals to fast travel around the lot, added some lore to the world, lead to secret areas, and felt like an extension of what's already available. I'd prefer to have the option to actively experience the tunnels, but you get a lot to work with for what you have. It's a good addition on top of a pack that already offers a lot of stuff you can actively participate in. As opposed to Tomarang, where the world was mostly dead outside of beaches and the night market (which was just a bunch of glorified stalls, and we get those all the time.) We didn't have much options beyond the rabbit hole tiger sanctuary, and the tiger sanctuary feels like a substitute for something that could have been way better.

I don't need to play my sims every second of the day. I'd be fine with a rabbit hole hotel I could send my sims to. But I would want Enamorada to have other stuff my sims could still actively participate in. I doubt we will though, since 90% of worlds these days are empty spaces and non-interactable set dressing.

Oh gosh, tomarang.. The night market is so depressing. Those places are so lively irl with such variety! Such a let down :( The tiger sanctuary felt so random as well, would make sense if it was originally meant to be something else. Such a shame since I think that was the first SEA rep we got in the sims and they gave us that. Yeah, I want rabbit holes that enhance the worlds we get, not replace other things like in the case of tomarang.

Personally I feel that rabbit holes don't add a lot to the sims 4. I only see them good for something that you could use to have your sims do something when you are not playing them which worked well in the sims 3 because you had a whole world to play with, now we just have one neighborhood. But you don't want to send away both of your sims and then just sit and wait.

Rabbit holes was never supposed to be the focus, the focus of the game is the actual lot that you are playing, all sims will visit and focus on that lot with sims and cars passing by to create the impression that you are somewhere in that world, unique buildings and landmarks creates the impression that you are somewhere in a specific neighborhood.

The hotel that they visit in the end of the trailer might add something to the neighborhood, but connecting it to a romantic repair date feels like it adds very little to actual gameplay, you want to see and experience the dates, not have them fade away into nothing and sit and watch them by the side...

I guess you add a lot in the neighborhood to that date and then Bob and Eliza can visit that lot and then go off and run to that hotel in the end to... end the date romantically I guess... because it's a new woohoo spot...

After some sleep and some more thinking, I will consider the hotel to be nothing more than another woohoo location. And, maybe that is also the intention. It will come in handy for visiting sims to be able to woohoo (with more style than in a closet) without needing to travel all the way back home to Willow Creek. It will of course be perfect for sims that are cheating on a spouse and can not bring home a secret lover... Along those lines it seems like a perfect new feature. I just wish it was done in a way that we could add it to more worlds than Ciudad Enamorada.

And - I would like to learn what options the hotel comes with. I assume the energy bar will be refilled, maybe hotel breakfast will add to hunger. But will there be various grades of risky woohoo, like a certain chance of getting pregnant without "try for baby"? That would be fun :)

Aaaand - I take it for granted that sims can stay at the hotel as regular hotel guests, even alone. It would be a let down if they would need to bring a romantic interest for fun. More of my sims would stay there if they can be hotel guests just for the sleep, shower and breakfast.

As a Mexican world, I'm little disappointed that the pack doesn't include new braid hair

There's suppose to be a new braided male hair in the base game update. I remember them showing us a sneak peek.

After watching the gameplay trailer I can only repeat my initial sentiment: is this a joke?

Like if you wanna sell a GP, sell a GP. There is not world in which this "content" is worth 40 bucks and I'm pretty sure they're aware of this too.
