I'm a bit confused, but only read headlines. The soft start of the new forum will obviously not mean that we all can use it from the first day. To me it sounds like EA hopes it will be ready shortly after July 15th. I find nothing about an exact date, so it is quite unclear to me when the old forum closes. They can't close this old place before we all can use the new platform? I recall it being said when the "Screenshot thread" for Crystal Creation (?) was posted, it was said that it was the last such thread on the old forum. Meaning the new forum must be up for everyone before Lovestruck release. Feels a bit strange to make such a huge transfer the same week they release a new EP, but hey ho. Hopefully they already tested the new place well. There should dover with.
Its all semantics really (that was a word-help for remembering the Koine Greek word for sign! ... how that gets related I dunno, I imagined saying that phrase with my hands and then a traffic coordinator, I'm studying for an ancient Greek exam).
Anyway, they said that when it happens it would redirect you to the new site. Which means that even if you miss the official Dr Doom finger point HERE IS THE NEW SITE GO NOW!!!!! and click on your old browser favourite or whatever to come here, it would automatically take you there. Maybe.
The Google says your Lovestruck gets released on the 25th. That's after the 15th. Wouldn't a stuff pack or expansion pack be a download on the launcher/Store? Not the forum? I don't think I've seen any been downloadable from the forum before. If the forum stays, I imagine it would still not have a download for it. Yeah I think it might be separate. You're safe!

Sounds like you need the new launcher, otherwise use your old disks. Unless your problem-brother sold them. There's a tonne of threads and posts about the EA launcher which replaced the Origin one. You're not missing out on much without the online login. Sims 3 right? I wouldn't have any idea about 4. I suppose the friends thing helps with new games and the gifts and happiness points. Gotta get that bladder control! There's always the load screen game. And want fulfillment.

I can't believe it, today I got my 7th anniversary badge. A bit weird to get an anniversary badge so close before it get totally worthless when the forum will cease to exist.
Thanks for the info. I don't care if the avatars are circular or square, as long as we can choose our own picture. It is really annoying that this is not available on answer HQ for all members.
Maybe you could take a screenshot of the notification and put it in your signature on the new forum. 🤔
This is what I did myself, I used my snipping tool app on my PC to take a screenshot of all the badges that I had earned over the years being on this forum.

@February11 true! Not that I'll be able to do anything about it really, I'll be too busy cramming for my Koine (ancient) Greek exam which is the next day. I should be doing that now. @Atreya33 I hadn't heard anything email-notification from EA, except for the odd friend request, since 2016 and all of a sudden in February I got a notification that I'd earned a 3rd and 9th anniversary badge in Answers HQ ... I reckon they're squaring up. My dad used to love saying "you're a day late and a dollar short!". I wonder if we can cash them in for anything.

Yuck! I didn't like circle avatars when Twitter came out with it, when Microsoft did it, and any others. I never understood the appeal in circular images.

Yeah, same. I can't stand how one company does a thing and suddenly other companies follow suit. No individuality, only "trends".
You can hardly see anything in round pictures, they cut off too much, especially if you want more than one subject in them. They seem to be designed solely to display a big, moony face, lol.
I guess its the mobile chat format taking over everything
yes big square profile pictures doesn't make sense if your average post is like 10 letters but on forums if you take out the beautiful and funny pictures it starts looking like paperwork
I also really prefer square to circle profile because I like adding background and details to my pictures that can't really show in small circular picture
and I like off setting my pictures rather than having all my pictures perfectly centered and it tends to look bad in circles
also makes taking profile picture 10 times harder cause you have to think alignment and whats too far apart to fit in the circle square is easier to eyeball
