Yeah, I get that they aim for different things. But a gameplay trailer could have still given more information and explained things better. It's weird to rely on a livestream that will be much less accessible to people, especially since the livestreams are infamous for accidentally exposing bugs, glitches, and even features that might be broken on release. But I guess showing off those bugs is a benefit for players too.

Nothing I saw in that trailer makes me think differently than I did when I first heard about the pack. A game pack content that should have been included in MWS (with the picknick blanket in Cottage living where the picknick basket is). The new world feels uninteresting to me, and while an attractive system and dating app is interesting, it's just not enough for me to pay that much for it.
Moreover, I advise that the cart button must be destroyed!

I think the problem is that since this not strictly game play objects or activitise. It hard to make a trailer.
I'm somewhat concerned about the romance skill. Are our sims who have been married to each other for years suddenly going to be bad at romance stuff because they don't have the new skill?

I agree. Most of this new EP could have been fused with MWS, Cottage living and Get Together( people hanging out).
Counseling is not the kind of gameplay I'm looking for. I can create that with my building and imagination in game already.
Tartosa gave me a beautiful mediterranean/ European beach set with a lush romantic landscape but no snorkeling or boating .
The base game was butchered and they are still trying to add more meat( gameplay) to it. If the beginning is trash, sometimes you have to start over in this case expect a lot of reruns with animations and old gamplay in general. Can we get past the older games?
If the pack had included a real hotel system, it might have been EP-worthy. But what I saw yesterday was only a GP’s worth of content, on par with MWS (which I don’t own), for example.
Even some of the new features were reskins, like choosing date activities.
I don’t think I want to change how bg dates work in my game. I like how it’s a goaled event with rewards.
I’ve been trying to appreciate the cas and bb, but I have to admit I really don’t like either. I can’t see myself using much of the cas besides the hairs and accessories, and I’m sorry but the bb is just… I mean, what even IS it? I’m not above buying an EP at 50% off just for the cas and bb (like I did with HSY), but setting aside the fact that I’m not buying packs for the foreseeable future as a form of feedback, I can’t see myself doing that with this one.
Speaking of bb, isn’t it weird that they haven’t played up the heart bed more? You’d think they’d put it front and centre for us longtime players to get all nostalgic over. But they’re not. I can’t figure out why it seems like they’re almost hiding it. It’s sus.
Lastly, I’m leery of the fact that the laundry list doesn’t include any gallery fixes. Favourites don’t even work properly, and yet they’re integrating them into Cupid’s Corner, which is supposed to be a main feature of this pack? I’ll be watching the existing gallery bug reports with interest after the pack comes out.

Yeah, this fills me with trepidation as well. I play over 200 Sims, many of who are already in relationships and have been for a while. Are they suddenly going to lose interest in each other because I'm not manually maintaining them every minute? I don't want this to bring a relationship apocalypse to my game. They rarely consider rotational and population players wen they develop these systems. 😒

Maybe it affects new interactions only (just like sims don't get bad at baking cakes because you installed GTW).
There are not many activities that sims can do together in the base game so they have addressed some of that in this new pack with new games, cloudgazing, cuddling, and eating chocolate together. But that's about it, so it doesn't feel encouraging that their demonstration of a date for the voiceover girl was her just taking selphies. I assume that part of the date will be to discover turn offs and turn ons but they didn't show it here, they just display them at the end.
I agree, new lots like an actual motel, a movie lot or an aquarium lot would have worked well here. This pack seems to be focused a little more on the more intimate parts of romance but the way leading up to it seems to be left up to the base game.
yeah but those are very small activities and most if not all can be done at your sims residential location. I mean fun dates. Like actually going to do things. And it seems to only come with one new game? which I mean things you can do on a date that are something you have to go to a community lot to do, a reason for your sim to leave the house and spend time with someone!
Perhaps there is some cross pack stuff here, like you can go for a bowling, Mt Komorebi bath, restaurant date, spa date etc, if you own those packs needed. I guess in the trailer they could only show Lovestruck + basegame activities.

It will be possible to go to all those venues because you choose a location. Even if there isn't a specific date event you can form a group with your date and do stuff together. But still it would have been nice if they added some new activity or a new type of venue.

Exactly.I agree! Brand new shiny activities like beach volleyball and surfing or boating.
Edit: I wish they had added a romantic beach that you can swim or go snorkeling in at the very least like in Sulani.
@simgraphy I see hotels as something different than lot rentals because of what you get. Fist of all, in an hotel, you are waited on - there is room cleaning, usually food and restaurants on offer, and depending on prise level different kind of amenities. There are also other guests around, for good or bad. That's very different from renting a house for a week and having it too yourself.
Secondly, as @Horrorgirl6 pointed out, a hotel is a business you can own and run, like a restaurant or retail shop. Are your guests happy or displeased? How about your employees? Is this a good hotel or a dump? For long time rental or just for a few nights? Granted some of this I can simulate with apartment rentals, but to use that people will have to move out of their homes to go on vacation, rather than just renting a place for a few nights. Seems a bit drastic.
Moreover, I advise that the cart button must be destroyed!
While watching the trailer I also was looking out for new activities. Then when it was over I started thinking about all the fun activities they could've added with themes we already have...
- paint n'sip
- group dates(are we getting these?)
-a tapas bar lot type with little plates of foods to be shared
-a hibachi table
-an actual food truck lot type that works better than the marketplace from EcoLiv
-a swim up bar, super soaker fight, water slide for pool dates activities
-a new hiking path with animations for a cute outdoorsy date, perfect opportunity for a hand holding + walking animation
-couples cooking class using the cook together function with a new station
-new functional workout equipment with a workout together circuit (unsure if the new weight rack is only decorative)
Annnnnd the fashions are still dreadfully dull Now there are a couple of nice fits, but not really different from what we already have. I know this CAS needed a range of styles to represent different types of singles, I think I'm overall disappointed by the lack of new new with the outfits. Like where are the trending silhouettes (hairs included in this),have the devs been to a Zara or been on Revolve? A lot of it looked flat to me, especially the two dresses the main characters are wearing (jade backless and yellow flower),so friggin lackluster. Compared to the last kits/couple of packs I am genuinely shocked it's this bad for me. There was one sage green dress that's silky textured w/ flutter cap sleeves, now that dress is cute! If only the whole CAS could feel as refreshing. Keeping my fingers crossed when I see it all together I'll be happy with the majority of the clothing.
Regarding hotels, the thing that gets me is that players have been begging EA for hotels in TS4 for years. Now they finally give it to us... as a single rabbithole locked behind a pack? I'm not even one of the people who wants hotels, and even I felt the slap in my face when I saw the love hotel in the trailer. If you ever needed evidence that they don't actually care what we want... well, there you have it.

That hotel is just the larger version of the pee bush. As it's a rabbit hole it will be interesting for a couple of times then it will be forgotten. Even the hotel in Batuu, where it was supposed to be the place to sleep and shower, didn't get much use in my game as I made playable living quarters under the cantina, in the forest, and in the empire headquarters as well. If you want a sort of hotel, you can build your own above a restaurant or a spa, as long as you don't add a TV, a vanity table or other item that might attract other sims in the room, other sims won't enter it and you can stay there undisturbed. Also, a rental with a butler feels a lot like a hotel, especially if you change the butler's uniform to one more typical of a hotel butler.
Perhaps there is some cross pack stuff here, like you can go for a bowling, Mt Komorebi bath, restaurant date, spa date etc, if you own those packs needed. I guess in the trailer they could only show Lovestruck + basegame activities.
Speaking of cross-pack things, would be a really missed opportunity to not have Agnes Crumpebottom be a menace on your dates if you have Cottage Living.
I don't mind that the hotel feature is kinda limited (for now). But I am disappointed that they did not rather give us a "hotel room box" object that would function with various builds in *any* world. I'm not so much a fan of stuff that is limited to a new world. I'm fine with traveling to Sulani for a tropical beach feel, but whatever could add to our building experience and creativity, should be added as objects to use anywhere. Like a hotel-room-box, would not need to be more than a Windenburg closet with a visible door cutting into the corridor wall and a "pay to sleep" function.

Yeah, outside of money I don't see why this is an EP at all. I'm just not seeing the content.. And people here may disagree with me, but I don't personally feel that traits are impactful in sims 4, so the new traits don't really mean much to me either. The cupid's corner pulling sims off the gallery is maybe the only thing I'm actually interested in and don't feel my mods can do better. I hope the attraction system will be actually interesting and not whatever we had in sims 3. I adore sims 3 but sheesh that system is awful. Also, the world is a bit disappointing to me, which is sad to say. From the apartment view it just looks like san myshuno.. I don't know if they just reused the buildings from there (it really looks like it, but I don't want to say that without knowing) or what but it doesn't feel like a south american city to me. It's sad since I was so excited about a new city world and I hope I'm wrong and it feels more unique in game

Maybe it's the sims 3 player in me but I'd like more rabbitholes in sims 4. The alternative is a map filled with decorative buildings that do nothing, so I prefer them at least being usable for something like in tartosa. I'd like more, like that little cafe in tartosa being used like the bistro or diner rabbit hole in s3 would be neat, but maybe that's just me.
@Breazona I agree about the new world. It's pretty disappointing. I wish sims 4 could alter the rabbit holes like in 3 so the lots can be playable and filled with purchased DLC without using a mod like a rug. I would love to see your game if your playing sims 4.
Edit: The ability to alter a rabbit hole into a playable lot is worth it for gameplay and storytelling.
For me, I'd be fine with rabbit holes if the execution was strong. Like the Werewolves pack made their rabbit holes portals to fast travel around the lot, added some lore to the world, lead to secret areas, and felt like an extension of what's already available. I'd prefer to have the option to actively experience the tunnels, but you get a lot to work with for what you have. It's a good addition on top of a pack that already offers a lot of stuff you can actively participate in. As opposed to Tomarang, where the world was mostly dead outside of beaches and the night market (which was just a bunch of glorified stalls, and we get those all the time.) We didn't have much options beyond the rabbit hole tiger sanctuary, and the tiger sanctuary feels like a substitute for something that could have been way better.
I don't need to play my sims every second of the day. I'd be fine with a rabbit hole hotel I could send my sims to. But I would want Enamorada to have other stuff my sims could still actively participate in. I doubt we will though, since 90% of worlds these days are empty spaces and non-interactable set dressing.

Back to the base...most likely car toys is all I get.

Personally, why do you need hotel ??
Lot rentals are like air bnbs .There not like renting rooms in hotels
Simmers also want to run one.
