Did you ever miss playing Sims? And Return to it?

Before this forum to the close I wanted to post this?

Did you ever stoping The Sims and ever miss? Did you get on with your life or play other game? Did you ever return to it? Or play nothing but Sims (that goes to both Sims)

Me? When I return to The Sims 4, the sound of The Sims 4 Theme return to my head, I did found a video on Youtube. Also seeing Sims 4 Characters and Worlds again.
I stop playing The Sims 4 back in 2022 I believe cos it was updating then it screw up my The Sims data, that some of Sims characters I had relationship with are no longer not, I got annoyed and left. It give chance to play other games I wanted to play and would return to to it. That was on Playstation 4. Now, we got Playstation 5, I believe we got it in 2022. This year, I started playing games on Playstation 5 and some games I played on Playstation 4, seem to be saved on Playstation 5. I decide to return to The Sims 4 and fixed the mess. I been playing Genshin since November 2022. Now there seem nothing much happen, I go playing other games and also return to The Sims 4. It seem to take over me as I try to play other games.
Even I stop playing, it's still one of my favourite games.
I'm a British Geek who love Bella Goth, Behr sisters, Liberty Lee, Summer Holidays, Pleasant sisters and other Sims wafius/girlfriends. And like his Sims cats.g8pvk4adgueh.jpg

Have never stopped playing Sims since 2000. Depending on other time priorities (work, school, RL) there have been pause gaps but no stopping.

I have played the Sims since the original Sims, I did stop playing in 2021 or 2022 I think because life got a the way. I've been seeing ads recently on Facebook and missed my game lol, so I just went and bought the expansion packs/game packs and stuff packs I didn't already own, only to find out that they changed the required specs and my computer is no longer compatible 😭 hopefully I'll be getting a new computer tonight.

I stopped in 2021, and didn't even come in here as other things came first, but I did miss it some and (after lengthy past-due upgrades and patches), updated the mods I had, got it up and running again. Everything is as I remembered it, although I don't remember specifics. but it is as it was. I'll play again for a while, usually short sittings to accomplished a certain number of objectives and might mothball it again down the road. "Depends on any number of undefined variables" life throws in my path.

The Sims 3 sadly completely passed me by, because at that point I had stopped playing, but quite early on in the Sims 4's life, I had the urge to play, so bought it and haven't looked back since.

Same! I didn't have time to play Sims 1, Urbz etc. a lot because I had little kids at the time. But I played when I could and I've never stopped.

That said, I did buy Sims 4 in 2014, hated it, and stop playing it again until 2019. I went back to playing 2&3 exclusively during that time. Now I go back and forth between 2&4.

I played since Sims 2, and was aware of Sims 3, but didn't start buying it until they announced the Sims 4. I do have Sims 4 now too.
I never really stopped playing the Sims, majority of it is Sims 4 now, but I have taken long breaks from it. Partly due to RL stuff, and also due to having so many different games. If I end up playing a game, the Sims is pretty low on my list of games to play, but I do come back every few months if I get a fun idea, or see someone online coming up with a fun idea I want to try.

I don't think I really ever stopped since starting with ts1 makin' magic

but I think I was least active 2011-2018
cause I remember ts3 being dumpster fire at the end and I recall I wasn't really into ts4 either before seasons

didn't mean I had more life though :joy:
    I just watched more stuff
and hyperfixated on some other things I no longer like at all which was in retrospect colossal waste of time... oh well at least I'll waste my time with something else now that I'll call colossal waste of time in 2030 or something

I have. I'm in one of those spells now. I have a game I play on FB for free, however it tends to be money hungry too. What really makes me want to get back to playing is Sims 3. The vacation places are huge as are all the worlds in it and they are all open with continuous play in which you can fully control and keep giving your sims cues no matter if they are all over the map separately. I can move or delete stuff in the towns making the towns look the way I want. I can go underwater, live on boats, have unicorns/dragons/ect., collect stuff for free all over the place including animals/gems/plants/bugs/ect. and sell them. There are tons of interactive careers. There are riders for toddlers, stand up video games, and other stuff that the Sims 4 doesn't have even after a ton of years. There are just so many things I can do in the Sims3 that it is the game I miss the most when I quit playing. Sims 4 had improvement such as the roof, moving rooms in building phase on a lot, getting rid of clothes/accessories with ease, finding and arranging households easily, and ease of saving and getting in game from making characters/changing out clothes. Those are all mechanics and not gameplay, so even though I really like those changes, gameplay is what I like. Sims 3 seemed well thought out for those who played it on machines that could handle it and other games out there don't apologize for making games that need good systems to play. They didn't even think of roads for the Sims 4 and after Sims3, there are no excuses for that. One thing that I like about Sims 4 is that I don't become so engrossed in it that I play for many hours. I can stop at any time. With the Sims 3, I played for many hours and didn't even realize it because it was such an incredibly real game. Few rabbit holes and mostly a real experience.

@davina1221 So much agree with you. Thank you for describing the game I love so well. My words become a mess when I feel strongly about something. <3

This is how I feel and nobody has to agree:

Sims 3 was always good enough to take sims 4 when it comes to DLC. The sims 3 gave the community more than they could ask for on old PC's and laptops that couldn't handel the DLC after 3 worlds or more. The Sims 3 won GAME OF THE YEAR, not 2 or 4. Sims 3 broke the boundaries. Should gamers be aware of the RAM their PC'S need to play with or the DLC That is offered? YES . Should they update their PC to accommodate the DLC, YES. 10 years ago I couldn't play the sims 3 or any game the way I wanted on my computer ( Soo laagy). Today my sims 3 is liquid play thanks to (Nraas 15 mods <3 ) and a new gaming computer. These games will never be perfect and will always have bugs. Your PC should be ready for the bugs.... :o

I've played sims since I was 7 years old (back then I first played Sims Bustin Out for xbox) and loved sims 2 throughout my teenage years. I briefly played sims 3 but not for long as I was stubborn and played sims 2 for years after it ended :D I loved sims 4 tho and played on and off. I have just returned to it tonight after a 2 year gap. I now live in my own house with my husband, I literally bought this laptop just to start playing again. This is my 20th year anniversary of sims! I hope to still be playing when I'm 80 lol

I know how you feel. I never got to play before Sims3 except some minor stuff, but on a computer that can handle the Sims 3, there is no contest for me. There are just so many ways to go in the Sims 3 and I feel excited. With Sims 4, even though there are options like building a store or the doctor career(I liked it after I built my own hospital with loads of beds close together and the machines to test close by), I just feel bla about starting a game on it. It is super to know that there is someone who is excited about the Sims 3. I think it got a bad wrap because of other people's bad content, people not upgrading their mods/ect., and not having good computers to run it on. I had loads of content, but not mods(I couldn't handle upgrading them after each content drop) and right before Supernatural came out, I got fed up with bad content and went vanilla. I had an Asus back then and it was a pretty good gaming computer, so once I went vanilla, I didn't have hardly any of the problems that people reported, not even problems vanilla players had. Personally, I think they are keeping Sims 4 for people who refuse/can't afford to upgrade and kids playing while moving on to games with higher specs on the 2 new platforms they are working on. Don't get me wrong, I do like some Sims 4 stuff. I love the PARANORMAL pack, making stores, I like the beaches(miss living on Sims 3 boats and going underwater).

I also miss Gunther Goth. I loved that sim.

Yeah. Sims 3 was a game that should have been made today, it was way ahead of it's years in gameplay. Most of us that had 6-8 GB pushed our machines to the limit with the multitude of DLC we received. :)

Sims 3 won game of the year..I think it was the Teen Choice Awads..which matters cause they play these games.

Ditto! The only long breaks have been when I was having computer issues. Sims 1 from 2000 to 2006 or so, Sims 2 from 2004 to 2016, Sims 4 from 2018 until now. I'd probably still play TS2 sometimes if it didn't run so oddly on my Win 10 system.

Yes, I've definitely had moments where I missed playing The Sims and ended up returning to it. It's such a classic game with endless possibilities! On a related note, I recently discovered the Relax Gaming slot, Ancient Tumble, and I'm loving it. Have you heard of DiceGirl Egle? She's a professional slots streamer on Twitch and is really passionate about these games. Trainwreckstv and Ac7ionMan are also worth watching. Do you have any recommendations for other streamers who play Ancient Tumble or similar slots?
