Ohhh, that would be so cute if the pack actually include some kind of crush between kids!
Brb as I go to the ladies room
and projectile vomit 🤢
when I was kid my female relatives shipped me with literally every boy I ever talked to for more than 5 minutes insisting that we are dating and it was so disgusting. let kids be kids for watchers sake.
When I was a kid , I sure had a crush to a boy in my class. Might of been different boy in next year
Naturally it was just little puppy-love, or puppy - crush more likely, and one sided, as naturally it was my secret
But totally natural, nothing to vomit about.
On topic again: I hope not all sims in save are automatically added to dating app
It might be natural to some but so are many other things one might find disgusting, personally.
to me childhood just isn't time for crushes and romance it isn't theme I want to associate with that lifestage in any way and it would be very nauseating if i had to keep dodging that stuff when playing my kid sims because i want none of it in my save
theres plenty time in teenage stage to have all the puppy loves people may want
It might be natural to some but so are many other things one might find disgusting, personally.
Totally, I was only talking about myself there. We all our own way, of course
My love, my love, my fearless love, I will not say goodbye..
Sea may rise, sky may fall, My love will never die..
My heart, my heart, My drowning heart, Oh all the tears I've cried
Oh I may weep forevermore, My love will never die..
Personally, I'd like kids to have crushes. Most kids experience crushes and romance, so I consider first it an element of childhood. Especially since kids have such a rudimentary understanding about love and go about it in the silliest of ways. In real life, boy in my niece's first grade class "married" my niece during one recess. Their "relationship" amounted to them sharing toys, pretending stuffed animals are their kids, and making soup with mud and sticks. You won't get such an innocent and comedic take on romance with older life stages.

The Sims 4 hasn't introduced a new musical instrument since 2017

As excited as I am for the pack because it is giving me 3 of my top sim wants (city, cuddling in bed, dating app).
My initial though was this looks small. From the trailer it looks like game pack. I also noticed this is another pack without many gameplay objects. I only noticed the blanket, reskin closet, and cards. I miss those. I really want an EP with no world and just a bunch of gameplay objects.
I'm also disappointed that yet another EP without a new lot type. I wish we had different type of bars in the game. The GT bar nights means that for most of the week bars are unusable for me. Lounges attract mostly elders. I wish we got a new lot type even if it worked similar to others in the game. I don't mind that. I'm going to have to experiment with placing the new lot trait on lounges, maybe I will get less elders.
What we really need are lots that add a lot more gameplay-lots such as game arcades, tennis courts and multi-purpose public lots would bring so much more gameplay to Sims 4,I personally think EA has given us way too many bars/bar types already, seeing as how they like to plunk barss into every new world(except Copperdale,San Sequoiai,Newcrest,Forgotten Hollow and Granite Falls). It's time EA stopped giving us bars and started giving us lots that would give us a lot more gameplay.

They add bars to every world because it’s base game and they are lazy. But they function the same. I would’ve preferred if get together Or Hendred on Bagley came with a pub lot. And then Sims would gravitate towards games while in pubs. They added a bunch of bar food to cottage living, but Sims don’t autonomously eat that maybe at the pub they would. They added nectar making in the horse pack, but Sims don’t really order nectar at the bar there. They could’ve done a wine tasting night. We could have a sports bar. But I don’t just want different bar lots I was just mentioning that because I think it goes with this pack.
I think we need lots in general. The horse pack should’ve had a stable lot. Get together or high school could’ve come with an arcade. The bowling pack a bowling lot. There’s so many packs that should have specific lots and don’t.
I would be pleasantly surprised if kids aren't overlooked in this theme pack but I want them to be able to play hand clapping games like Down by the banks of the Hanky Panky, The M.A.S.H game, Paper Fortune Teller Origami or something together. I just feel games like that would fit the theme of the romantic pack. That's why I'm mentioning it. Kid's were able to play Miss Mary Mack in the Sims 2 together. I would love to see kids playing some of those games autonomously outside, so when your sims are walking down the street, they could notice the children playing. I know they say kids don't play outside anymore but I would love to see more fun social interaction between children.
Ohhh, that would be so cute if the pack actually include some kind of crush between kids! Girl next door comes over while young Sam is in the garden. Walks up to him, and before he has a chance to escape ske kisses him. And poor Sam screams in shock and runs inside to hide. There could be a less-serious romantic relation thing between children. I'd love that, and it would even make it easier for them to find a first love interest when becoming a teenager. So many of us had their first kiss with a childhood pal. Not like my adult Duchess, who had 4 kids and the other night kissed her Duke for the very first time...
I honestly just want children to have more things to do together in general, but I felt since the theme is Lovestruck. They could add those games I mentioned from my childhood, instead of not giving them anything and people are already saying they feel this won't be expansion pack worthy. I need to see if the kids can even play with the future cube alone, the sims usually play with it autonomously but I was thinking of games children could play together.

I thought that bars were updated to function as pubs with Cottage Living. I am fine with sims ordering mostly drinks at the bar instead of food, as it's not a restaurant and you mainly go there for drinks.

I think the solution to this issue would be to create new lot traits instead of new lot types. I think LIttleMsSam has a lot trait mod that have sims gravitate towards certain object's, so I know it can be programed into the game. I don't think we need a new lot type for bowling because the sims do come to the bar dressed for bowling when there's a bowling alley available. I think it could be because they have that bowling skill. They need new lot traits like eating, gaming and swimming for example. Of course these thing's can be achieved with Get Together but I know we don't always like to have our sims come to community lots in groups.
We could use a community lot focus expansion pack instead of downright eliminating world's. The main focus is usually the sims houses instead of what they do at community lots. Then maybe I can get an exercise bike, more arcades, elevator, escalator and waterslide that simmer's have been asking for.
I love playing in new worlds. I want something from the African region before they stop making world's. It's sad that some feel we have to sacrifice that for more content, when Horse Ranch couldn't even animate a rocking horse for children or bring the mechanical bull back. Something is amiss with gameplay but I don't think new world's is the reason we aren't getting enough animated objects. I suppose they would have to come up with more content to justify an expansion pack price if they did release another expansion without a world though. I do feel they tend to shy away from animating objects that could cause a bunch of game breaking bugs. They've release kits that I wish some of the objects were animated.
With all due respect, I can't really think of how to ask this without it sounding like I am being mean when that isn't my intention, what is fun about playing in a dead world exactly? Yeah I think the background scenery is a nice touch when playing, and having more lots is a plus in my book, but there is literally nothing to do in the worlds. I have lots dedicated to being children parks, recreational parks, walking parks, carnivals, water parks, and more b.c the EA worlds/parks don't offer much and I can't add to them so I just have them recreated on lot so my sims can do more than just walk around and sit on a bench all day.
I think you answered your own question with why people would want different worlds. I love the new scenery especially when my sims go jogging around. I wish they could go for a simple walk and tour the city too but I have felt like you when you say you want more to do in the worlds. I just feel like new world's shouldn't come at the expense of other features like having new animated object's. They have given us the same playground equipment for the community park areas, when they could have added a slide, a seesaw or a spinner/merry-go-round. They could even add outdoor workout equipment on hiking trails. As disappointed as I was that we didn't get a rocking horse for the children in Horse Ranch. I said Chestnut Ridge was the world I didn't know I needed. I was able to move my cowboys from Oasis Spring to Chestnut Ridge. So, sometimes having new worlds fit your sims style.
@SnaveXs I honestly don't think the worlds are the resources taking away what would take -programmers- to make an EP interesting. The team has a lot of artists, we're given tons of stuff and hairs and furniture and yes - worlds. These people tend not to work in programming new features, they are -artists-. That's the crux of the matter.
So much hate smh
leave the worlds yea.
Edit: I would want to add that whomever is doing the worlds, has been doing a great job. It's been consistently one of the more joyous things of any sims pack. That they're empty -again- isn't the artists fault. This is an issue that lies with another faculty.

yeah but thats friendly interactions not romance interactions
playing house, sharing toys, forming bond with your stuffed animals, making food out of things that are not food, theatre play
lets put it this way: would you still feel romantic about all the people you kissed as a kid? doubt.
would you even remember everyone who you kissed as kid? doubt x2
kids just mimic adults they don't have romantic relationships and their crushes are more like " i think this kid is cool" less so romantic crush
and we already have sentiment for finding someone cool
Honestly kids would not fit a romance e pansion
This expansion is for adults and it's adult focose. It would be weird and out of place to have anything for kids or teens.
As for crushes honestly I think sims kids are too young for that.If we got preteens than yes.
Aaand the SimGurus go radio silent yet again…yikes
Edit: I am still excited for the EP and what it has to offer, I am just frustrated about the fact the devs either are not excited or cannot talk much about the new packs anymore?

Yes also I am sure there would be controversy about kids romance because the cancel culture would not accept such things in The Sims 4. I am not surprised at all they didn't include crushes for kids in this game as it can be a complicated topic to handle in a video game.
I totally don't understand your objections... I had my first kiss as a child, innocent and not romantic seen as an adult, but still a memorable moment waking up the mystery it is to grow up and longing to become a teen. I'm not saying that a child's first kiss should be anything more than a silly kid's playing, nothing to remember and definitely not something to form one's life. It's just another phase. Most boys would even be less intewrested in these games than girl kids are.
If an innocent kiss between kids - say up in the tree house (growing together) upsets you so much, so let's allow kids to play a tad romantically with their dolls, or to have extreme "ouch" reactiions when seeing their parents kiss.
You guys sound like romance only exists for YA. I will definitley allow my elderly sims experience plenty of romance, even if it might make a few of you feel sick, lol. And the woke culture would probably clasify me as insane if I think a woman aged 75 will enjoy a romantic date.

It might be better to allow Simmers to make their own restrictions on the dating app. or whatever it is. Over certain ages only or between certain ages, young adult to adult or elder if you want that too.
Personally there's too much else for me to do and I'd like to block dating until a time when I want it!

They're friendly interactions, but that's what romance means for most kids. This is a time where they're only starting to interpret these feelings. Like I said, it's very innocent and different from what older people would view as romantic. Like you said, they're largely mimicking what adults do. But that's part of the experience. They discover love and engage with it through familiar ways.
As for those questions, I don't feel still feel romantic with all the people I kissed in my youth, though I remember most of the people I've kissed. I didn't give up these kisses to just anybody. But I don't see why that matters. Child romances aren't meant to be some long-lasting thing that shapes their very core. They're youthful experiences, like your first vacation, first soccer game, first school play.
No one here is asking for make-out sessions or anything serious. At least, I hope they're not. But this is the period where the vast, vast majority of people discover their feelings. It's natural and healthy for children to try and navigate through crushes and love, in their own (bizarre and comedic) ways. Interactions don't even have to involve physical contact, and at most that would amount to a kiss on the cheek, followed by pushing your crush into the mud and running away.
My ideal is for child sims to have optional crushes on other child sims. They can confess their feelings and share a crush sentiment with that person, which will allow them to kiss each other on the cheek and have a unique "play house" game or something. They wouldn't even need to have official designations like boyfriend/girlfriend. Sometimes, one kid might tease another about a crush, or react with disgust when they see two sims (of any age group) kissing. If we really want to get wild, they could have short-lived "broken up" sentiments whenever they fight, because kids are fickle and will fight/make-up at the drop of a hat. They think their relationship is real and dramatic, when really it's just kids arguing over which Voidcritter is the best.

I remember my first crush in preschool he had black hair and liked me. 5th grade was different. He punched me in the stomach and knocked the wind out of me..I was on top of him tickling him, he had no choice. I learned not to pick on boys after 5th grade especially if I liked them. With that said I think this EP Should be left to adults and they can create something for kids later.
I definitely had romantic crushes as a kid. Although my ideas about romance grew over time.
But then, I was growing into an adult with the Romantic trait, so, ymmv
That said, I don't really know that as an adult I would want to role-play little kids having crushes in a game. That's a bit icky somehow.
Considering the 'naughty' nature of the pack, I wish that we had a pole-dancing activity come with it.
That would honestly even be cool for hobbies xD i've tried a class before as a safe space. it's not always about *naughty* stuff. It can feel empowering to learn to dance and gain strength etc and feel confident in yourself haha!

I know, off topic, but..
I tried once, brilliant idea atr my cousin's 30 year old party... not at *naughty* way.
Result was so embarrassing it made Bridget Jones landing from firepole in the movie look super stylish

Lots of people learn pole dancing strictly for fitness not because they want to dance in bars. If it weren't for the heels and some suggestive bending, for most part is not much different from acrobatics or trapeze artists.
Surely we can’t equate romantic feelings with sexual feelings? I’ve always been “romantically” attracted to beautiful things and energies. I had a crush on two anthropomorphic Disney characters, a teenage girl and a young adult male, all at the tender age of five.
Absolutely nothing about it was sexual, but everything I felt for these characters and people was in some way or another “romantic”. If it wasn’t, I wouldn’t have felt “The Crush”. It was instant love and appreciation for everything that was different about them and I felt it deep in my heart as young as I was. Of course every kid is different, but this is how I experienced it. Romance or “love” as I understand it has in itself nothing to do with sex. Romance can lead to sexual desires, but it isn’t sexual in nature. It’s the same the other way around. Or am I misunderstanding something here?
Although I’d have zero problem with the implementation of childhood crushes, this pack is unsuitable for a feature like that. There’s an obvious reason we didn’t see children in the reveal trailer and I doubt we’ll see them in the gameplay trailer. Lovestruck’s theme is Romance with a capital R that stands for “Rrrrawrr” and “Raunchy”. It’s packed with vibromatics and other sexual innuendo and as soon as that’s present, kids have no place in it in my opinion. Adults can be adults, aye, they can shake their peaches and eggplants whichever way they see fit- children don’t need to be part of that nonsense. Ye gotta keep it separated, let kids be weird in another pack. They can have their own EP or they can just make friendship bracelets instead.

The Sims 4 hasn't introduced a new musical instrument since 2017

But then, I was growing into an adult with the Romantic trait, so, ymmv
That said, I don't really know that as an adult I would want to role-play little kids having crushes in a game. That's a bit icky somehow.
This!! Completely agree with everything you wrote!
That would honestly even be cool for hobbies xD i've tried a class before as a safe space. it's not always about *naughty* stuff. It can feel empowering to learn to dance and gain strength etc and feel confident in yourself haha!
I know, off topic, but..
Result was so embarrassing it made Bridget Jones landing from firepole in the movie look super stylish
Sea may rise, sky may fall, My love will never die..
My heart, my heart, My drowning heart, Oh all the tears I've cried
Oh I may weep forevermore, My love will never die..
Lots of people learn pole dancing strictly for fitness not because they want to dance in bars. If it weren't for the heels and some suggestive bending, for most part is not much different from acrobatics or trapeze artists.
