I like it more than I was expecting to, but it still looks to me like a GP rather than EP
I mean, compare what the pack offers to recent good GPs like Werewolves
and then to recent good EPs like Horse Ranch

I want Latino inspired furniture. The trailer used and reused the wicker chairs with painted legs that were a base game freebie. That tells me there's more thematic lovely furniture and not Latino furniture in this EP. I'm disappointed with that.

As excited as I am for the pack because it is giving me 3 of my top sim wants (city, cuddling in bed, dating app).
My initial though was this looks small. From the trailer it looks like game pack. I also noticed this is another pack without many gameplay objects. I only noticed the blanket, reskin closet, and cards. I miss those. I really want an EP with no world and just a bunch of gameplay objects.
I'm also disappointed that yet another EP without a new lot type. I wish we had different type of bars in the game. The GT bar nights means that for most of the week bars are unusable for me. Lounges attract mostly elders. I wish we got a new lot type even if it worked similar to others in the game. I don't mind that. I'm going to have to experiment with placing the new lot trait on lounges, maybe I will get less elders.

If you want and can use mods, you can turn the bar nights of with mccc. I turned them off ages ago and mostly forget bar nights exist. I agree that bar nights are annoying. An official on/off option would be most welcome
The trailer looks better than expected but I still think the love them isn't beefy enough for an EP price tag. But maybe the livestream will prove differently. I think the trailer might not do the pack justice. I do have some concerns.
1. How will the monogamy/polyamory be implemented. What will be the default setting? Do I have to edit all the existing couples to suit my preference. How will it work with the player reward trait from the serial romantic aspiration. If a monogamous sim earns this trait, which one will get priority. How will polyamorous sims with a fated mate (werewolves) behave? I hope the devs looked into all possibilities when they decided to introduce this system in a ten year old game.
2. The attraction system has overlap with the social compatibility system from growing together. We will have two systems that influence behaviour between sims based on traits and likes/dislikes. Why two systems next to each other, it makes things needlessly complicated.
3. What will happen to existing couples? Will they suddenly become idiots in romance because they miss the skill. Will long time married couples risk of suddenly being incompatible because of the attraction system.
4. The blog says 'rent a room' I really really hope this doesn't mean we get rabbit hole hotels. I loved hotels in sims 2 and couldn't care less about rabbit hole resorts in sims 3. I want hotels to be done properly with buildings we can visit. I hope this line refers to a rental property.
5. Gallery sims being used for the dating app. This was in the leak but I don't think I have read about this in the blog. If it is in the game, I really hope for an off switch.

This is what I've been saying for years now,
unless the pack theme absolutely needs to have a new world for gameplay to work
I would rather not have new world and take those efforts to adding new gameplay things
and if the pack is actually about world I would like to see world related gameplay in the pack
rather than something unrelated that can kind of be done in any world
I would like the worlds though, it's one aspect of the game that I look forward to every time. We do have a lot of them though, maybe too many?

Romantically reserved trait is strange to me... We already have Unflirty trait.
Ok, well, Unflirty sims are uncomfortable with romance while Romantically Reserved just want to take it slow but won't react negatively to seeing romantic interactions.

I can't imagine them ever surprising us by putting build mode tools (with the exception of new venue/lot types like Residential Rental) behind a paywall if they affect the core game in ways that locking it into an EP would mean if someone downloads a lot from Gallery, the round pools would be replaced with something else for someone who doesn't have Lovestruck EP, for example. Curved pools will definitely be in an update, hopefully they get confirmed way before the EP drops.
It would've been great if we could create our own (sleazy) motel. Although the for rent system is still in need of patching, its framework has a lot of potential. They can integrate it in other ways, from the opening of luxury resorts (especially with various packs) to cheap motels. So many opportunities - it baffles the mind why the team isn't taking any chances.
I suppose there simply isn't the manpower for it - yet we keep throwing money at them - so what gives? It can't be the lack of funding honestly.
So reading the blog post and with the romance skill we can unlock "new" interactions like neck kiss. But unless they made a new animation (doubtful) teens were already able to do kiss neck. They're just opening it to the other age groups. I'm not mad about that but don't mention it like it's a new feature.
while I remember the old heart bed from the old sims game, this decor style of the build buy is no way shape or form in my dream home decorator's wishlist. I can make a funny club or fun teen room with it, but generally not my cup of tea.
I hope they have a feature where the NPC's can finally autonomously be together with out me having to put them together since that was suppose to be applied as part of story progression (neighbourhood stories) but was never implemented, it can be exhausting having to control em all, SHEESH!
