I rarely download furnished home, but if so every cluttery except lights on wall behind the stove is the first thing which has to go. This is always my 'tell me you don't cook without telling me you don't cook'- moment. It seem practical at first to have it so near to you but when real cooking a lot of stuff you will have oil film on them and it will be disgusting to use them shortly after. So theoretical you would have to clean them after every cooking. Actually you should clean the cooker hoods periodically too to avoid kitchen fire. (Spreading some awareness here :) ) They are filtering the oil from the air and keep it. After I learned that I never place any clutter near the stove anymore.

Most of the clutter, for performance reasons. Houses that look pretty rarely play pretty.

Excessive clutter and cars are usually first to go after I remove trees or bushes that consistently get in the way or clip through the house. I usually turn any 'garage' space into a new room.

I tend to remove cars too and turn the "garage' space into a skill themed room or a hangout spot.

    All of the above.

I'm so very thankful for all the wonderful builders. I'd be lost without them. But I do usually remove all the choices.

And, as a builder, I'm good with that! But I put it in for those who DO like it. So easy to delete, but not something a lot of people want to do on their own. I don't care what folks do with my builds as long as after they've finished they don't claim them as their own.

I was tempted to select the bath mat but then I remembered the bunny . . . you know that bunny. I don't own a lot of the packs, so when I'm feeling brave enough to download off the gallery the builds often have a lot of items that are auto-replaced. In some of the builds there are porcelain bunnies all over every room, ready to stare my sims down.
-No, my almost-elderly mother, I don't think it's a good time for you to try for a baby.
-Yes, person I barely know, you have my blessing to hang out with Johnny Zest.
-No person with the mean, hot-headed and self-absorbed traits, I don't think you should get married.

I don't typically download lots from the gallery, but when I'm renovating a premade home, I'm getting rid of all the kiddie room stuff--if I'm playing with kids, they're getting tasteful, age-neutral furnishings. And unless the residents have some reason to be into those Jazz paintings, those are gone. In fact, most of the basegame kitschy decor goes bye-bye unless it suits the personalities of my Sims.

Some time ago I started to build my lots from scratch only inspired by the builds from the gallery. Now I am sure that everything matches my gameplay, the lot/world I want to place that build and everything. I personally try to not overuse MMO and I am not a fan of custom furnitures.

I normally download things with excessive decor here and there because I like the look or feel of them, and if I want something more simplistic for the family I'm playing then I will just download something that's decorated in a more simplistic way, so I don't tend to delete things unless they specifically start to get in the way of my gameplay.

I watch a lot of youtube decorating videos and I'll download from those links if the house is no-cc and if the site is one I trust or if it's on the gallery, most of the time it will show in the video that the room layouts have been sim-tested, but they aren't always completely detailed. For instance it'll show a sim swimming up to a swim-up bar in a pool and another sim serving them a drink, and there'll be a spectacular outdoor kitchen behind them with a unique grill set-up, so I know it works, but then I get it into my game and the grill is layered a little wonky with some other piece of furniture and the sims can't get to it. In that case I will rearrange or delete that other furniture so that the sims can use the grill, or if I can't bear to change the look of the area then I'll just buy them another grill and set it in some corner nearby.

I'm generally happy with what I do download though. If I don't want it, I just won't download it, and I'll simply take down some ideas and try to build what I do want myself. Because sometimes you just aren't going to ever find what you really want.

I usually build my own lots, but recently I've been finding so much cool stuff on the gallery that I want to download it. Generally I do a big makeover when I download a lot, sometimes change the use entirely.

It depends. If I just want the house I'll delete everything except the kitchen and bathroom fixtures. If I download the house because I don't feel like furnishing, I don't delete anything.
