I’m a bit sceptical about dating sims on the Gallery. I just can’t see how that will work without any issues. Not that it’ll be much of an option for me because I play offline anyway. But presumably the game will have to download that Gallery sim while you’re in game mode? And then there’s the issue of the chosen sim using pack content you don’t have, let alone the CC issue others have mentioned. If they can get this to work smoothly that will be impressive.
On the plus side, if you create a sim self you could use the gallery as a sort of dating service.
Yes or you could switch to that Simself and have them put up a profile. I like the gallery method better.
corner of the picture that has heart bed and bear rug
theres also what I refer to as Goth house sofa in different pictures
I think I saw it in Iron Seagulls new video. It looks like there is a lip sofa in one of the new bars.
Also I wonder if that bear rug will work like the romantic blanket.
It better be another variant of the love blanket
Unless sims can just lay down anywhere... uh yeah, nope.
I think I have to be careful where I place these blankets cause if Fengs find one in a park its gonna be bad (which is ironic cause Lily is unflirty but Fengs always be woohooing each other when I'm just trying to have neighborly visit or something )
Imagine taking this blanket to the romance festival.
Physical attraction confirmed? I think? "Characteristics" sounds like it, so if so, that's cool.
No, it's Sim Characteristics in Growing Together which is considered part of social compatibility. Similarly, Fashion preferences refered are in High School Years. I think this pack just adds the Romance Style category.
Wow 😱😱😱
I'm so excited for this. I was taking a break from playing sims just to focus on other things but it looks like I came back at a good time.
I already have the perfect couples in mind too... I'm super intrigued to see what new animations/interactions we get, and the blanket sounds like something I'd use ALL the time.
I'll probably end up breaking up my couples just to start the whole dating process from the beginning with this pack 😅
I believe we nee to accept that the inflation that just hit the (RL) world also affects gaming industry. It would be crazy that TS4 packs kept the level of content at the same sale price forever. It's been about 10 years and we must either accept increased price or less content. So, it seems the new standard is less content. It's no big deal I think, but it could explain why we might not see GPs in a while, and the return of SP. Any business needs to adjust their strategy to survive, from time to time. That's just how the world works, and it will never ever change
I'm basically happy as long as the EP offers a new world (that is well done) and a theme that adds to most games.
Yes, I agree, inflation has been so high, we can’t expect packs to remain the same, either prices go up or content comes down. It takes time to make content, and time costs money, and we can’t expect Dev’s to work without raises. I just wish they wouldn’t throw so many rabbit holes in the game, Give us one really fleshed out activity rather than 3 rabbit holes. There is just no fun in most rabbit holes. The cave being a rabbit hole I can understand ( they are dark inside anyway ).
But, the Tiger Santuary I was hoping to be like a museum where you could at least see the tigers roaming around, even if you couldn’t interact with them rather like watching tv, or looking at a picture? They could have added an excited moodlet, or a happy moodlet, or a scared moodlet. Also, why couldn’t they have given us a larger boat that would carry more than one person, or one lot out over the water? I personally would have much rather had these things than apartment events. Almost all of my apartments will just be a place for people to live. I could care less for events.
I want to make a sim who likes plus-size dates. That's sexy.
Too many tattoos (even if under clothes) is my IRL turn-off. I'm ok with 2-3 of them, but random pieces all over just are distracting and I feel like I'm kissing a doodle binder.
I want to make a sim who likes plus-size dates. That's sexy.
Oh, it's strictly a "Me being lazy in my gameplay" thing. I'm already short on my sims having enough time in the day for everything I want them to do. I don't want to add "trying to keep their weight/muscle at an apreciated level by their partner" to the list.
Ngl when I'm lazy, I just go cas.fulleditmode and edit my sims into whatever body type I want for them. If they get too fat and I don't want to deal with exercise, I change them into Adonises sculpted out of the finest marble. Too skinny? Now they're putting on the pounds until they're adorably plump and ready to spread some big love. Or maybe a sim just needs to be perfectly svelt to have me swooning.
I'd love body types to be a choice, given how it's a realistic preference. And it'd be a great way to help filter out sims and zone in on someone I want for my sim. I'd also like to make a sim who's incredibly shallow and doesn't care about a lover's personality, but only their outside exterior. Maybe my sim wants to date sims who look exactly like their first love, down to their hair color, weight and butt size. I like redheads and beards, so should my sims. Not only would this be a good way to flesh out a sim's personality, but it could open the door for some chaos.

The Sims 4 hasn't introduced a new musical instrument since 2017
🐲🐲🐲🐲
I used to manually change body types when my Sims weren't "ideal". I'm learning to let that go, and learning to be more body positive in my game actually is kinda cool.
I playing the same save since 2018. As my couples age, usually one of them plumps up. If I don't like it, then they hit the gym.
In LoveStruck, it would be cool to have body type as a preference, and if one partner plumps up and the other is turned-off by that, it would make for interesting play. Could inspire all the middle aged Sims to hit the gym, or for tons of divorce, affairs and chaos.
I would also like body type, fitness, hair color and even skin tone / skin quality to be a preference choice…Let’s not pretend these aren’t one of the first things we take a good gander at IRL. 👀 We’re only human, most of the time. My sims on the other hand…beasts. All of them. One of my guys prefers lactose intolerant skinny green sims with pointy ears and merfolk teeth. Can we have that?
What about voice and walk style?
I have zero interest in dating sims from the gallery. I assume / hope this is going to be an optional feature even when we decide to play online.
The adult costume trunk scares me a little and does it include the hotdog suit? I don’t really require an answer to that to be quite honest. I guess the leaked EP believes it’s time to dial Spooky Day all the way up to 11…
I couldn't have my sims date by hair color because I know the tags don't be properly selected on some of the cc hair. I have too many cc hairs to try correcting them all for turn on/offs purposes but I be trying.
The leaked information sounds interesting. It feels a bit like growing together in the sense that it seems to add several smaller systems that fall into a general theme, this time romance I stead of family of course. It sounds promising, more interesting than I expected.

Same here. I like to choose which sims are added to the game, not some random gallery sim. What if I don't own a specific kit that was used? What about cc? Most of all, some of those gallery sims have unlocked outfits, completed aspirations or maxed skills which takes away the fun of doing these things myself. I hope there is an option to turn this off.
As some predicted it sounds like Turn Ons and Turn Offs won't actually include physical characteristics such as hair/eye colour, facial hair, glasses etc like in TS2:
"Categories for these include Activities, Characteristics, Fashion, and Romance Style."
Disappointing if true.
Don't the characteristics refer to physical characteristics?
I hope some physical characteristics are included. I relied on them a lot in sims 2 and didn't mind changing them to internationally make couples more into each other. Preferring haircolor is a bit more complicated because we have more colours than the sims 2 did.
I'm a little worried about Turn On / Turn Off because I don't know yet if "Characteristics" or "Fashion" will include it.
Some people likes or dislikes :
Makeup
Piercing (excluding earring)
Tattoo
Body hair
Facial hair
Short hairstyle
Long hairstyle
Interesting list. I hope these will come true. A lot of them make sense. I wouldn't mind adding fitness levels as well. The only no- go would be skin color and possibly eye colour.
I hope we can also set a preference for occult lifestates. Have a sim be totally attracted (or turned off) by magic or werewolves would be fun.

There are not that many colours, still the basic ones, blond, brown, red and black or grey/white and coloured. All the shades of blond or brown could fit one colour, it doesn't need to be overcomplicated.

What's wrong with skin or eyecolour? If you don't want your sims to have such likes/dislikes, you simply don't choose them. But they should be there for those who want them.

I can almost guarantee that they will not have turn off/on based on skin color. That would lead to so much backlash. There’s plenty wrong with that. If you don’t want your Sim to date a sim of a specific skin color, you just don’t choose. The game does not need that to be a feature.

It's not about who they date, but about what they like or find attractive. Having more options is simply useful to narrow down the possible matches. If the option is make-up then maybe almost all female sims wear make-up. If the option is facial or body hair, then almost all male sims have facial and body hair. Same thing with hair length. If the option is tattoo or piercings, well most of my sims don't have those so it doesn't even make sense to give them that turn on. Skin and eye colour is as much a physical attribute as fitness or big boobs and bottoms, there's nothing wrong with having personal preferences when it comes to choosing a partner. Also, the turn ons and off will most probably be stacked, so eye or skin colour will just be one option out of many others, so you could still end up with higher attraction with a sim based on the other options.
I don't want too politically correct turn-on/offs. I want them to be realistic. Weight, skin color, eyecolor should be in the list of options. Anyone don't liking them can simply avoid using them, easy peasy. However, there are many skin/eye colors that I reckon would be difficult for the game to categorize, simmer#1 might see skin #x as light, while simmer#2 might see it as medium. So, maybe just the very light or very dark options should be listed? Perhaps the same for eye color, maybe just the clearly bright options should be listed, while the "mixes" would not need to. I'm sure the RL mix between brown/green would not be important on such a list anyway. If I saw blue eyes as a turn-off, I might be happy if I could avoid the brightest blue, while blue-to-grey would be less important when looking for a perfect partner. If I wanted green eyes, I'd be super happy with clear green, while green-to-grey or green-to-brown would be okay but not be triggering the same.
We all know this is just a game. We also know that quite often we learn that such turn-ons/offs are there to surprise us, because a person attracted by brown eyes might end up as the happiest married person in the world with a green-eyed partner. These "rules" I think of as a teen/ya thing, while mature (mentally or biologically) know that the physical attributes are of less importance in the bigger picture. I just hope that nobody choose a partner based on political correctness.
Someone mentioned hair color might be difficult because a sim could have dyed their heir, but a person attracted by pink hair would probably not care that much whether it is natural or not. I don't think turn-ons/offs is about hunting DNA for your future kids, but more a "here-and-now desire" thing. It might be even more important for an impulsive one-night-stand, than for a long life marriage.
So, I'd like to add glasses, freckles and teeth to the list. Even if you are turned off by glasses, you can't know whether your chosen partner will need glasses later in life. If you prefer a partner without glasses, your life would probably not get ruined if s/he needs glasses to read. It could still be an here-and-now factor.
Talking about glasses - how will the game know if the glasses are sun glasses or "I need these to find my mug of coffee" glasses? I'm quite sure that a bimbo attracted by a hunk not wearing glasses, would like to get noticed by the same hunk wearing sunglasses... or?
Btw... why not hand us a long list of options, and then each of us can decide construct the list we want to be valid for our game, to please everyone's idea of what the turn on/off system should include? It would be easy to program technically. It would also help us to narrow down/up the random turn-on/offs of NPCs. Let's have our sandbox back, please!
About matching with single sims from the Gallery, I don't remember if I posted this request but it give me the feeling of sims living in the off-screen cities.
The sims should look better than the weird random generated NPC townies and it will also be a new way to discover new creators.

To me, it sounds like an alternative way to bring back Sexy/Party Dancer (TS1/TS3).

The Sims 4 General DiscussionIdeally things like Tattoos (if included) should only apply if said tattoo is visible, but I don't think the game engine can handle that.
Suntan doesn't count as a skin color, right ?
Eye Color and Hair Color are probably excluded too.
The game can't tell if Pink Hair is a natural color for aliens or dyed hair.
