I will be staying with Sims3 and 4. I made the decision to leave the Sims franchise behind two years ago and won't be making the jump to Sims5/Project Renee. There are so many new life simulation games coming our way, I feel the need to move away from my comfort zone and try a few of them. Sims4 has so many issues that may never be addressed by the EA teams that I am using far too many mods just to tweak the game into not glitching every few minutes. As well as a handful of gameplay mods that add a bit of zing I feel is missing from the core game.
I am so sad LBY has been cancelled. That one was at the top of my list of new games to try first. Paralives held my interest for a few months, but I just don't see myself bonding with the paras who don't seem to fit in with their environment. If the paras were less cartoony and flat looking, I would be more interested in trying it. VivaLand looks very promising and closer to what I expect characters and environments to look like in this day and age of high tech. The best part of VivaLand is it can be played in single player or multi player mode. And Inzoi. OMG That game is gorgeous. It will probably be hard to play on anything other than high-end systems, but it will give me a good excuse to custom build a new desktop for myself. It's been a few years since my last build, but I think I'm up to the challenge if the game is even half as good as it looks.
I'm sad about LBY as well,Paige....I wish people didn't keep harassing them about the graphics, because the gameplay looked AMAZING. I may try Paralives, and I may try Sims 5 if it's more like sims 1-3. I haven't decided about VivaLand yet.
InZoi's graphics are realistic I have a feeling it's going to be a resource/memory hog, plus it may turn out to be another "Anthem"(that game has beautiful graphics but the gameplay was just abysmal).
I probably will not buy anything from EA again. Since Life By You was cancelled, there's nothing new for me. I'll be depressed but continuing to create in CAW and probably play some Sims 3. I'll have plenty more time for Sims 3, now.

I was never that* interested in Life By You but so many others were and it now has been canceled. https://youtu.be/f5MB_CRuvQA?si=lL0sLisx5fiB8SYn
I am really interested in Vivaland and I believe Rene is free to play for starters, as well as Inzoi, so they much really be on quality control for these games because now competition will depend on the best performing and quality game.
I think and hope they should focus their energy on being different from one another to offer the player new experiences.
Inzoi looks incredible to be graphics wise, but what they invested in graphics, there are drawback. I believe you can not edit the worlds, as in community lots, as you can with the Sims. It focus is also on occupation game play like get to work right away from base game. The world is open but it's really small.
VivaLand is really incredible in art style and you can build and play with others. I think Rene is doing the same thing, but Vivaland said they will have the option to have kids with other players which is opening up a whole new level of complex gameplay. Sharing a family with multiplayers seems different. I never played Sims online so I don't know if this is a new feature or now.
They have discuss anything more on Rene since their initial reveals. I am curious fi they will share anymore. I am sure with the competition, it doesn't help them to be too transparent, considering.
I have been a fan of The Sims since 2002. I own every pack and DLC EA released for Sims1,2 and 3. So, walking away from the franchise was not an easy choice by any means. But Sims4 has been a challenge since it was released. That doesn't mean I don't love it; it just means I am tired of the glitches every new pack and update brings into the game. That's why my game hasn't been updated in over a year.
No game is perfect. But Sims4 is showing its age as it nears its 10th birthday. There are things I haven't tried from past packs I'd like to try. I have multi-generational families living in save files that are four or five years old. I cannot take the chance of losing even one of them. I have too many hours invested in those saves. I'll continue to play Sims3 and 4 for many more years just because of my fondness for those Sims I created.
But having a choice in the type of game one wants to play is always a good thing. I'm ready for a life simulator that looks more realistic and has a new way for me to be creative in how I tell my stories. These new life simulation games that will be available soon may or may not meet my expectations upon their release, but I'm looking forward to playing and seeing what they have to offer. We will be seeing a base game that will be expanded upon in the future. Not unlike our experience with the Sims franchise. And if the new games are free upon release, we have nothing to lose in just seeing what they're like.
I'm very saddened by the cancellation of LBY. That was a game I looked forward to most and was getting myself prepare to buy and install by clearing out space on my PC
I do also have an interest in Paralives though! I am not too bothered by the art style, I am just curious how much gameplay it will actually offer since they don't release alot of footage.
InZoi I am holding off on really having opinions on it. Even with my gaming PC, I wonder how that game would run with it's ultra-realistic graphics. Plus it seems it uses AI that can take images from anything online which worries me about the moral of the game itself.
**Editing because I literally forgot to talk about Project Rene
Idk how I feel about the sims franchise right now. I have mixed feelings about buying any new games from EA. I feel like we don't even know if it is actually TS5, as it may not even be a main title, but could be a spin off.
I mostly play TS3, sometimes play TS4 (HEAVILY modded), but I never feel satisfied with TS4, which worries me about how any other new The Sims projects may turn out.

I'm so sad, too. AND I had already bought a new graphics card and processor before it was canceled. That, itself, is so upsetting!!
I have extremely low interest in Paralives and I dislike the art style. I no longer think it's a scam but I still think they're focusing too much on flashy stuff for social media and not much on quality game play; it's concerning.
I don't yet know nearly enough about InZOI but I am highly skeptical. It looks too good to be true, plus I heard some questionable things. There's no official FAQ or news to clear things up!
For a while now, I expect anything from EA to be a low-budget cash grab, so I'm not interested in Project René.

With Life by You being cancelled which was my favorite in every way the only other one I'm interested in is Paralives.
From what I've seen Project Rene looks horrible and there absolutely nothing I like about Inzoi the worlds are not what I want at all and the character editor is just way to limited no way could I make a character the way I want especially with how the face animates.
Sims 4 went from "You Rule" to "One of the stories we want you to tell"
