I'm seeing online that these items are stored locally. Does that mean we lose them if we switch computers? I know mine is due for an update soon.
Locally probably means they are in your the sims 4 user data, and you can easily copy them to any new computer. These files you should also copy to a back up device regularly, but that is a different story
I mean, I’m not gonna say no to free stuff, it’s just the way we’re getting it that feels like a mobile game.
The thing I’m looking forward to the most is the cushion, I have Modern Luxe kit, but I was really missing plain swatches for the cushion. I think I’m gonna use it a lot.
Also the trashcan, It looks like a recolor of the ugliest trashcan in the game. I like it because you can get money from it but I could never use it because of how ugly it is. Well, now I’ll be able to use it!
Same for the hair : I never ever use it because it has an ombre, but not a pretty one. And also because it sometimes clips with your sim’s face. Now I might use it more.

That's what I would assume too. I hope that's correct. So much misunderstanding gets passed around on Twitter.
Playing in Germany and no Event Notification on my start page. Is Germany excluded (like with the family portrait)?
Same here. Well, by June 13 we will get it as @EA_Cade has mentioned.
I just don't know if I'll find the time to log in so often then. So, it's free stuff, sure it is, but it's neither something "new", nor causing much excitement. The only real new thing is the mobile game vibes which surely are not appreciated by me (as I usually don't play mobile games). And somehow I think it has been quite predictable that a lot of players won't like this kind of stuff, so why didn't EA just stick with the normal SDX drops everyone likes? I don't understand this.
And anyways... the big announcement that was made before had me thinking of something real exciting ... a new free (big) update (like the curved walls for example if I remember correctly). Definitely not a kind of SDX drop where you first have to reach some goals to get them. What I want to say is that this feels disappointing. They should have told us it is going to be some variation of a drop.
Still not showing in my game either and I'm in the US. I saw the EA response that everyone should have it by June 13th. So that means there will be players that have to log in every single day for 2 weeks just to see if the event pops up?? Really unfortunate this is what they think is "fun and exciting".
Unfortunately, this did not meet my expectations of “Something Fun, Something New, and Something Awesome” that was in the tweet. All I can say at this point —it is what it is.
I’ll continue to do my usual which is play off-line, go online only for updates (after waiting awhile) and SDX drops. At this stage of the game for me, it is all about gameplay and continual improvement of the Sim's personalities and behaviors.
I still don't have them {Australia}. Looking forward to getting them.
This is a little stressful, as we have just turned the house upside down painting it. And I am trying to get it back to normal. Moving furniture was much easier in my younger days. Mind you we did donate so much stuff to charities we have a lot less to put back.
The start menu had a quiz where I could give feedback on the rewards. The survey mentioned if I was interested in rewards tied to gameplay challenges or if I felt more interested in playing the game because of these rewards.
I politely responded that if you don't add any new gameplay like they do with packs then there is nothing new to play. And also that I had bought for rent and the main feature was broken...so...yeah.
And I could also vote on which item that was my favorite, I voted on the mini bar.

I got the survey as well. I politely explained why I dislike timed events. It's more to do with the principles of being tied to real time, not the quality of the objects. The mini bar is also my favourite because it's something we don't have yet.

If they would add timed events with challenges tied to rewards then I would probably just be annoyed because I would have to consider if I really wanted to spend the time to get the item. I played Forza Horizon 4 for two years and I did every weekly "Forzathon" event. Which was a bunch of different races and challenges and you got rewarded with new cars for it.
It was fun to do the challenges, but it also turned playing the game into almost work as I had to log in and do these things every week, I had to plan my free time so I could do them all because they took something like 4-6 hours to do.
So no, I don't want the sims to go that route, I like that I can just boot the game up whenever I want to, I don't want to feel forced to do it because there is a reward for an item that I have to work towards, that kills the fun.

Now that's exactly how I feel. I have been in situations where I was planning my free time around a game. I had to stop that game for my own mental health and life balance. I hope sims 4 won't go that way because then I would have to quit playing.

Everyone should get the content by June 13th.

Good to know
Good to know what to backup
If it's the case then the players who play on several devices (PC/Mac/Console) will have to claim these items several times.

Yep, nothing at all here, too.
