Okay, I just have to be a troublemaker for a second, and wonder why they use the term "grab drink"? Now, I don't know about anyone else, but being how I am, I had to give this a try. I just tried to "grab" my drink and successfully doused myself and all nearby surfaces with water. I wonder if I practice "grabbing" my drink, if I could get better at it like a Sim?

Makes me wish there was an appropriate animation for this in the game. :D

    Okay, carry on.

Clumsy Sims should definitely get an animation for this! 😝

I don’t mean to sound sexist but I’d say a dude named that interaction. Me personally, I’d grab that drink firmly in order to move it to my face. Come to think of it, I unintentionally break stuff all the time. Makes me wonder…

Yes, many men are rather grabby, so you might be right about that. :p

Perhaps it's the way I interpret what a "grab" is...like a quick, snatching action. Doing such would no doubt spill my libations or foam up a bottle of ale (had that happen more than once) even with a firm hand, and t'would be such a shame to waste good drink. But maybe others don't interpret a "grab" that way. So Grabby Grabbington Sim can drink their water or juice or nectar just fine.

Yeah, personally I would take a drink, not grab. I get what they're saying, but take makes more sense in most instances of "grab" - servings, for example lol.

I got this by combining the small and large pool waterfall rocks together with moveobjects on cheat.
    05-30-24_9-50-49_PM.png?width=960&height=720&fit=bounds

Added a Pool Waterfall to the Windenburg Pool

    05-30-24_9-22-52_PM.png?width=960&height=720&fit=bounds

Pool Waterfalls work good in Splash Pads
    05-30-24_9-56-04_PM.png?width=960&height=720&fit=bounds

Note I forgot to turn on the splashpads in this pic but when all of them are going with the pool waterfall it's really beautiful. The lot is from SimCubezz.

    05-30-24_9-55-07_PM.png?width=960&height=720&fit=bounds

Maxis uploaded the lot from the teaser. It's a lot bigger then this. I didn't take a pic of the whole lot but it has several pools and several pool waterfalls along with fountains.

    Thanks @Simmerville @CAPTAIN_NXR7

I don't know much about bistros so it seemed like best option to look into some existing sim bistros :sunglasses:

Also made it restaurant so I wonder what I should put on the menu since I can't seem to find ts3 bistro menu anywhere and I really don't feel like installing ts3 just to see that

I wonder if someone has ts3 installed and could get me screenshot or something?
probably should have asked in ts3 section πŸ€”

I imagine they should work anywhere you put them, but they might interfere with sims routing if you put them in a hot tub. I put them in a fountain and added some ducks some of the ducks moved through it.

In other news, I hear bears are fairly popular at the moment...

I love both kits. I’m not sure what to think about one particular missing object though, πŸ’’β€ΌοΈ, but it doesn’t seem to bother many others so I won’t make a big deal out of it.
Luckily I’m off today, sort of - … - and Iβ€˜ve finally made the decision to replace the Karaoke bar in the San Myshuno spice district with a traditional Irish pub that I’m currently building. Fun galore, pints for all! 🍻
What did I miss? What missing object?

Okay hear me out. The Riviera Boxart Firepit is missing. I bought the kit just to prove I'm right. That was a joke. I bought the kit because the items are gorgeous and extremely useful for my type of builds. But I do want to bring the missing pit to people's attention. The in-game pit is a different pit. Still nice, but different. Because I'm a difficult person and I care so much, below is my analysis:

Here's my attempt to recreate the shot, for comparison purposes. I completely understand that the boxart is supposed to be a stylized, 2D render of the actual items. Of course it can't look exactly the same. In this case however, the model is utterly different.

If I was an art director and the firepit shown on the boxart was say, approved concept art and I gave the 3D artist the green light to model it I wouldn't be too happy with the current in-game result. I'd tell the artist to adjust the model.
I appreciate it's not exactly the same thing in this particular instance, but instead of the firepit advertised on the boxart we get a completely different pit in our game. No, I never claimed to be the most easy going guy. πŸ•΅πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

    RIVIERA-KIT-BOXART-ANALYSIS.jpg

Basically, it's as though a meteor crashed into the box art fire pit and the result = in-game firepit. It's kinda cute, but a wee bit flat looking. I don't know what else to say. πŸ”₯

Irish Pub pics to follow soon-ish because I don't want to be a Negative Nick. I'm actually enjoying myself with these kits believe it or not.

    Yup. Ran a quick test.
Waterfalls can only be placed with MOO. It works in Hottubs AND Hot Springs.
Routing doesn't seem to be an issue, although I only tested with one sim, but I had her move to different spots. My test sim was very collaborative, despite her being in a fierce mood.

    Tomarang Hottub:

    HotSpring:

Note that Waterfalls can't really be placed in the water, re-positioning remains limited.

Yeah, this is really unacceptable. It is as blatant a bait and switch as the window from Industrial Loft. You may remember that they started with these rendered images after that fiasco as if it somehow excuses giving us different (less attractive) items in the kit. I really cannot stress enough now thoroughly sick I am of EA at this point.

Oh yes, bears have become quite the desirables, so they say. But only when in the deep woods, I hear? I'm guessing the hills and glens and Bistros are rather bearless. Swimming pools, I'm sure, are right out. But I suppose it depends on the bear...

Speaking of pools, would you happen to know if those rocky waterfalls in the Riviera pack are enlargeable and if the water works appropriately with them when they are?

I have seen videos of bears in swimming pools and hot tubs left unattended and I gotta say living in the woods I'd prefer that to finding strange human in my hot tub/pool

it could for example be this guy which would simply be terrifying

Hmmm...It being 2024...I believe it's a lot easier to find a bear in a swimming pool rather than in the deep woods. They're high in demand and they know it!

I meant to share my findings about this earlier! There's Good News and there's Bad News. And then there's Not So Bad News:

    Good News: Rocks are enlargeable:
    CASCADE-Comparison.jpg
Bad News: Waterfalls don't change size.

Perhaps not so ideal for non-builders, but here's the Not So Bad News : With MOO activated the cascades are stackable. I used a combo of enlarged cascades, normal sized cascades and basegame rocks to create this waterfall. Eventhough I didn't put a huge amount of effort in building this rock, it still looks natural in my opinion, including the cascade animation. You could stack 'em up as high as you want! ⬇️
    Cascade-Combo.jpg
I will most definitely create at least one lot with a lake and waterfall using this technique. There are so many splendid things that can be build with these grotto cascades. I love 'em!πŸ’š

@CAPTAIN_NXR7 Your stacked waterfall looks amazing! Definitely some creative build potential there.

I'm seeing a lot that I like in both these kits, so I may end up getting them. Though, I agree about the fire pit. That's annoying. I like the one in the drawing a lot better.

I said I'd share my Irish pub WIP, since this is the Screenshot Thread after all!

It's by no means finished. The weather outside has been delightful - I've been spending most of my weekend outdoors...roaming the woods. Don't worry ladies, I'd never do anything a bear wouldn't do.

This is Grace O'Malley's, a pub named after the great Irish Pirate Queen!
No CC. I took inspiration from many different Irish pub designs, this is something you'd typically find in a city.

Well, ladies and gentlemen, I think it's settled. A gathering for a jolly night out at Grace O'Malley's is in order with Brian, The Bear and The Captain. Who's going? (I sense a story coming on...)

Also, thanks much, @CAPTAIN_NXR7 for the rock experiments. That's good enough for me! I may not be much of a builder, but I can MOO with some skill.

Hold up. Now there's a cow at the pub as well? Getting crowded in here.

I like this. It looks so much like Paris. What I notice with many of those builds is that the bistro is on the ground floor and the upper floors look like appartements. How can we make that work in game. Either we get people living in the appartement upstairs and the bistro is unusable or we have a working bistro but nobody can live upstairs.
