A bistro is defined as a small, casual restaurant with a relatively inexpensive, simple menu. Though often a French restaurant, it doesn’t have to be, and not every bistro serves French food. Often, a bistro is described as more of a neighborhood restaurant with community ties, and a warm, cozy, inviting atmosphere.
Since bistros originated in France, it’s essential to talk about what’s on a typical French bistro menu. They will serve casual but traditional French cuisine including soups, salads, breads, and upscale versions of home-cooked meals (think hearty stews or roasted meats).
American bistros have evolved from the bistro’s Parisian origins, and do not always serve French cuisine. Instead, bistros in the United States may offer modern and creative interpretations of European-inspired dishes, or classic regional items based on the locale of the restaurant.

As per usual, no need to enter me. I just want everyone to know what I would order at the bistro, because it’s important:
Anything with steak in it. Medium rare. I’d also like a bowl of that house salad and a glass of Pinot Noir or Cabernet Sauvignon.
For my dessert I’d prefer a black coffee, or cappuccino. Depending on how stuffed I am I might also go for an apple crumble or an amaretto soaked tiramisu. If the tiramisu doesn’t have plenty of alcohol in it, I don’t want it.
Okay that’ll be 45 quid, sir.

The only wine I really like is a Moscato, but I like to live dangerously, so I'd try something recommended by the staff. Although I'd love a house brew, if they have it. Cappuccino with a kick would make a lovely dessert as well. Is that blasphemy? Ah, the heart wants what it wants.

Clearly I'm no wine expert.
I rarely drink wine, it's the only alcoholic beverage that could potentially trigger a headache, unless it's organic, but I do enjoy it with steak or an Italian dish on occassion, especially at a restaurant. I prefer something a little stronger to be honest.
As for Cappucino with a kick, would this be similar to an Irish, Spanish or Calypso coffee i.e. they're also a little "stronger"? Either way, blasphemy can take a back seat. The heart has spoken.
