    Sul Sul Simmers!

Welcome to this month’s Laundry List, where we share the top community concerns we’re currently investigating and aim to resolve in an upcoming patch.

You may notice we’re investigating more issues than previous months; this is because we’ve assembled a team to invest in the core game experience, including tackling technical issues within The Sims 4. We have continued to review reported concerns that have interrupted your The Sims 4 gameplay over time, and we recognize that this has caused much frustration. It’s why we have set out to form this focused team, which will be able to increase both the number of fixes we can address and how often we ship these batched updates. Our goal is to fix more reported concerns, both big and small, over the next six months and beyond to check off more boxes on our Laundry List. This is our first release, with others following roughly every two months. Keep an eye out for future Laundry List announcements for the latest run down of fixes.

We genuinely value your input so please continue to report any issues you experience via Answers HQ. This remains our primary source for information on player experiences. Any and all details are helpful, especially those surrounding where the issue was encountered so we can reproduce it as a part of our investigation. As is the case with any patch, please remember to remove any external game mods and custom content as they may conflict with the updates.

For our next patch, read below for the list of the community concerns we’re investigating and aiming to resolve.
Note, this is only a list of topics from AnswersHQ and community-sourced feedback with upcoming fixes; there are more improvements to the game and topics reported by players that are not listed here but still being worked on.
Additionally, we hope you can understand that some topics can be tricky and may require an extended investigation on our end, so even though we are actively reviewing, it’s not a guarantee that we’ll have an immediate total fix in the upcoming patch.
Thank you for all your patience and valuable help in reporting!

We’ll continue to check in, and together we can make this game the best it can be.
    Happy Simming!

I really appreciate the lists they give us, but whoever wrote this needs to stick with either listing the solutions OR the problems. When I read "Skills Won't Stay in Alphabetical Order" I was saying "WHAT? Why? They need to be in alphabetical order. It's cleaner and easier to read that way." Then I realized it must be the issue that is stated. That wasn't they only one that made me have to pause to think.

I noticed that too, lol. I'm an editor, and I kept thinking, "These list items aren't parallel! 😭" They should have just listed the problems IMO because that would help people find those bug threads on AHQ if they were reading a version of the laundry list without links.

I'm very happy about the fixes that are coming up; especially for the Aliens, Mermaids & Plants. :p I'm hoping that sometime soon the Aliens & Mermaids will have a full refresh with power book. ;)

I’m hesitantly hopeful, but the real test will be whether this patch needs an emergency patch right after. I think that will be real the signal that things are moving in the right direction.

Nooo! How are my precocious high school student and his hot young teacher supposed to continue their secret relationship when they can no longer send each other inappropriate texts during class? 🙈

I am happy to see so many fixes. Especially improvements to plants.

I hope the toddler top notch trait gets adressed soon as well.

I honestly don't know why that one is taking so long, considering that Bienchen has already fixed it with a mod.

I wish I could ask someone at EA why it often seems to take ages to fix a bug even when a modder has already done it.

This makes for a very happy mightysprite

Thanks @EA_Cade for sharing the news about the new team

I'm especially happy to see the household split/merge bug on the list, that's a huge one.

Emmeline Sterling-Rico would like to share her personal appreciation for the improvement of her Summon Grilled Cheese powers.

Very happy for the improvement of grammar in various notifications that include custom pronouns. (Hope it appears in time for Pride month)

    Waffle restaurants!!

Bugs that I found small and annoying, that other people found huge and infuriating: the alien face bug, the high school grade promotion bug, the Dine Out order queue bug, the hatchable egg bug... so many! yay!

Unfortunately, the only bug fixes for For Rent are rather minor, but I'm sure the big bugs are going to take a long time to fix.
(If only they had waited to release this pack until it was actually working... but at least we can wait to buy it)

    Don't buy broken stuff

I wonder if this will fix it for sims that didn't get the milestone previously
or if its like fixed for next time someone has a nooboo
also if this fixes it not counting for aspirations

I remember being confused why it didn't count as having a baby
when I played Patina and gave her and Penny science baby

oh and yeah the list was bit confusing
I think should stick to listing problems that will be fixed
rather than listing fixes to problems that exist
...even this sentence make me do brain gymnastics

but yeah I'm just happy to see they have proper team for keeping the game running now
and I am cautiously excited about performance fixes
cause uh yeah I don't swim in memory capacity
so even little improvement goes long way

With the new Bistro coming out, it is no surprise to see fixes for Dine out. I am very interested to see any changes with food.

I am playing on console. I have a fixed limit to what can run on my hardware and I think I am at my max. It has worried me that soon I might not be able to play with all the packs installed. Or that a forced update would just break the console game entirely. I am cautiously hopeful about the game being optimized.

I think the bugs that annoy us the most are often the hardest to fix. This list is missing most of the bugs that are the most immersion-breaking, so I am more interested in the future plans than this current list.

I wish they'd finally fix the Finchwick Fair issue where contest submissions (especially cows, chickens) aren't being returned to our inventories... every time I submit an entry, and the fair ends, I NEVER get my animals back! They're not in the personal OR household inventories... even with debug or hidden objects cheats turned on!

The fairs are supposed to be a main part of Cottage Living, but can't be properly used... and while it's not entirely game breaking, it's still extremely frustrating!

You are supposed to take your animals back before the fair ends. After you find out your prize, you take your animal back, don't wait for the fair to end.

There's no option to take the animal(s) back before the fair ends, though... and they don't even announce the prize until after the fair ends.

I am pretty sure I once entered in the competition a golden egg bought from the vegetable stall, won something like third place and got the egg back and was upset the vegetable stall closed for the night and I couldn't sell it back to them. 🤣 I will check in my game and see how it plays out.

@EA_Cade Pretty sure this is a typo and might need fixed.
    Eco Lifestyle

Unless people do want nose rings to break when worn with brow piercings. Maybe I'm misunderstanding.

@crocobaura, lusianicia, my sim submitted a pie and I didn't get the pie back and the results were never announced. No ribbon and no pie! :s

The fair submission not returning to inventory is a bug. May not be happening for everyone but 334 simmers have checked me too.

    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-CoL-Finchwick-Fair-Submission-Not-Returning-to-Inventory/m-p/10533665#M191161

Hopefully with the new technical issues team it'll be resolved soon.

Promises promises. The proof will be in the pudding, I suppose.... EA doesn't exactly have a sterling reputation in that department.

But nonetheless, fingers crossed and I wish the team all the best even though I'll be keeping my hopes and expectations for a better gaming experience in 6 months from now... at a realistically low level.

    ......

And since I'm here, might I make a wee humble suggestion for the new team while they're busily fixing 10 years worth of game issues over the next 6 months?

Please replace the utterly useless shopping cart button with something that's much more needed during gameplay:
A button that takes us directly to the AHQ bug reporting forum. :|

Goodbye, and thanks for all the fish!

Maybe by Copy/Paste it would be easier and faster.

I mean modders already fixed a lot of them so it requires to validate these mods and add them to the game.

Happy for people who still play the Sims 4. But this is 5 years too late for me.

Me too! Except about 3 years for me, but I completely understand!

Thank you! I'm glad you'll soon have some other choices for life simulation games. 🙂

    That remains to be seen.

It would be difficult to promote "Women's Leadership and Inclusivity in The Sims Studio" if the game is completely broken at the end.
