May room challenge:
Construct a room for a home for a jewelry-making family! They are all collectors! Hashtag: #fireflyjewelry Brief: (written by @JojoMOMSTER this month)
Onyx and Ruby are jewelers and gem collectors. They are moving their family to Glimmerbrook where they think they will get good walk-by traffic for their business. Like their parents, the couple’s children are collectors of small items. I don’t know what each child collects, but please choose something and include it in their room décor. It can be an in-game collection like marbles or feathers --- or something totally else.

From a house shell (please use the hashtag for that month which someone will make each month, please choose a room to create from that house shell. Feel free to add landscape and put activities in the yard of the house shell. For the house shell --- any size lot is fine. I was thinking of using a larger lot like a 50X50 lot. Make sure to give yourself credit for creating the house shell with a hashtag. The main areas of the house and outside landscaping/anything outside that isn’t a room could be a collab and will also be in the stream.
Please tell me which room you want to do as soon as possible.
I will keep track of which room types are left. The hashtag for the whole challenge this month: #fireflyjewelry
On stream, I’ll tour the house.
However, I’ll nominate each room in the challenge for a Maxis fave. I’ll also be able to tell who did which room in the finished house.

Creative notes about your room: I thought it would be nice to give Onyx and Ruby a room that reflected both their favorite colors, with some white accents. And then seeing the style of the house and the location, I knew I wanted to keep to that storybook theme. Fortunately, the RoM pack included the perfect red and black bed and rug. The color theme is flipped in the bathroom from mostly red with black furniture and white accents to white and black with red furniture. I went back and forth about a sitting area versus a walk-in closet. Closet won because there's only room for a chest in the bedroom and the other closet's small.
Back Story: I deleted two walls so I could upload the rooms as one, you'll have to replace them. Note there are two tiny changes in the screenshots that I didn't feel llike re-uploading the room a fourth time for. I accidentally got a bathroom tile swatch in the closet at some point, and I moved the artwork in the bathroom a little lower. By the way, the bathroom was play tested and is routable for one sim at a time, but I can't guarantee shower woohoo wouldn't cancel itself.

The bedroom, closet and bathroom is lovely! @SimTresa The red, black and white colours are very nice and pretty wall panelling and floor tiling. The furnishing of each area is lovely. The closet design is great! The canopy bed used in the bedroom is lovely and very nice rug.

Thanks! I love that bed. Oh and that reminds me, the carpet may be off center in the uploaded version - I know I tweaked it when I was taking screenshots.

Thanks! Don't worry about it, it was a fun challenge. I was going to have a shelf in there for clutter, but Ruby kept telling me she couldn't go there, so it got deleted.

Cluttered Country Kitchen is a lovely country kitchen! @AlJay Very nice green and white colors and warm wood textured furniture and flooring The furnishing of the room is very lovely. Very nice waffle maker and microwave area. The school bag, coat rack and bags wall shelves and shoes are a nice touch of a family home.
