I think we're going to lose this thread. I don't think @Cinebar has an Answers HQ account, and they haven't had any activity on the Sims Forums since July 2023.
All of the new life simulation games in the works don't have what I feel is missing from the Sims 4, stakes, drama and creepyness, and I also don't have faith in Sims 5 to be any better.
I keep up with all of their productions but remain sceptical. In all likelihood I will stick to Sims 2 and Sims 4 (I enjoy Sims 2 and I am too far sunk into Sims 4 to stop now).
I really like the look of the build/buy items. I'm really fond of the look of Maxis and MM build/buy, but this looks even better.😃 I'm still not a fan of the Paras themselves but it's not a deal breaker.

To me this is a deal breaker At current graphics, I simply refuse to play a game if characters are what I dislike to look at Im glad we have lots of options now

I want to get a better look at the Paras. I'd love it if the Paralives devs put out a 'CAS' demo. Some of it too is just how much I love the look of TS4 sims. I'm kind of down on life sims that don't look like them. But it took some time for TS4 sims to grow on me too.
I tend not to play the newest games that come out until there is a long "burn-in" period of at least a couple of years. On the other hand I'm always pretty current with my computing hardware so when I do pick up the older games at a discount I'm always pretty sure my rig can run them.
After what happened to Life By You, it shows how amazing are the developers of Paralives. It's a very difficult task.
Because of Life By You, many paid members have left and it forced them to announce an early access in 2025.
By being impatient the players could damage all the possible alternative of The Sims.
EA and Maxis have more than 24 years of experience with The Sims, even former employees like Rod Humble struggles to do it after only 5 years of development.
I think we should let them do their job without pressure and support them until they are ready.
