more family options in CAS please

so, I noticed the choices for making family members is sort of limited in CAS, example it contains the basic options being mother, father, sister and brother yet if you wanted to make someone a grandparent without making the mother or father that isn't directly possible. Same goes for aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. So let's say I wanted to play a storyline that involves aunts and uncles carinf for their niece/nephew because their parents passed away or something, only way to do this is you'd have create the parents then kill them off in game, for some that might be preferable but sometimes it would be nice to just make the grandparents, and uncles, aunts without having to make parents just to kill them off. There should be a cousins option too, and also adding in an adopted son/daughter and foster parent option would be great for storytelling too. These are just tiny features I think would be neat to add stories.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one that wanted this!!

Please, add to our possible ways of being related. I'd love to be able to say if someone is a grandparent, uncle/aunt, cousin, foster relative, or adoptive relative.

You could turn it into two different drop-down menus, one where you select from all sorts of ways of being family, a couple, or friends/housemates; and, a second that lets us pick if a family relation is genetic, foster, or adoption.

Agreed. It's actually obscene how household relationship options were pretty much lobotomized going from Sims 3 to Sims 4. It was only recently (i.e. with the game pack that shall not be named) that they've expanded upon them, adding the option to make Sims engaged from new. That's all!

I hadn't thought much about the other relations, but I have always wanted the ability to make a grandparent and grandchild without having to make a parent and kill them.

The problem is the Family Tree will be incomplete. The game seems to need direct links to build the tree.

Generally I use skeleton ghosts to fill these roles.
