Why don't we have any waves now?!

I miss the Ikea Stuff pack. It was always my favorite.

Sims 1: I miss some of the scarier elements like the phone calls-sometimes scary but child me didn't mind, the music that actually made it suspenseful when a burgalar showed up, Clair the bear who likes to raid the trashcan, the sometimes dramatic reaction of sims if they got mad at another sim. (although same could be said for 2)

Sims 2; the lore, cutscenes, the sheer amount of personality the sims, the fact that their personality made a real difference to how they acted, and the occasional fourth wall breaking like where theyd look at the screen and complain to you if frustrated, and the fact it was rotational play friendly. Also the hobby system. This game is still my favourite still tbh even though I enjoy the sims 3 too.

Sims 3; this is the sims I currently play, but I love the open world, the amount of activities available, forming bands and being able to go sailing, the park festivals each with its own activities. Also it still has lore.

@Jadeleine It is categorized as a coffee maker, so I tend to forget it's there, but Sims 2 has one. It's called the Perfect Packets Hot Chocolate Maker.

I miss the ability for a Sim to introduce their friend (or what have you) to another Sim. I took the Sim that had moved out of her parents' house, and her new boyfriend over to meet her family. I had to switch households just so I could have the parents and family members introduce themselves to the newcomer. Would have been so much easier were Harmony able to simply introduce Travis to them.

    Face/palm. Oh, it's those little missing things . . .

I miss all those little details from The Sims 2, like the cashier animations, the opening the car doors etc. - it really felt like your Sims were doing something for real.

    Trimming bushes and pulling weeds

In TS2, Gardening was also about taking care of your garden or letting it become wild.

I miss this aspect of gardening. In TS4 it appears we only have the option to garden and take care of vegetables and fruits. While there are flowers we could take care of they don't look much like a pretty flower garden.

I have modded this off... horrible to have big garden. You have no time to do anything else. Totally the feature I personally don't want back.

You don't need to have a big garden or plants that require regular maintenance if you don't like that. In TS2 it was only hedges, topiaries, and rose bushes that needed regular trimming. Even if they don't bring back the trimmable hedges and rose bushes, they could still do so much more to make the current harvestable flower bushes to be more decorative. I mean we take care of them anyway, why not enable us to create also beautiful gardens using them? The TS4 rose bushes don't look anything like roses and you can barely see any flowers on them, and someone had the wild idea to add tulips that grow in bushes. Would it hurt them to make the flowers bigger and more conspicuous if the plants are well cared for and give them proper meshes? This applies to vegetables too, because they also don't all have proper meshes.

This I agree totally. I was not talking about this. :)

I only stated my personal opinion about the bushes needed trimming. This is "Little details you miss- thread". :)

And it's the weeds too what spawn all over the place near flowerbeds. I personally like nice large gardens, why I modded trimming off.

I get that, but in TS4 we still get to tend the garden, gather weeds, water, spray for bugs, fertilize, etc. Would be nice to be able to mix in some of these plants with the decorative ones and have a nice garden that looks like the average back yard garden, mostly flowers with a couple of vegetable and herbs mixed in. The bonus is if you don't collect the harvestable flowers you get a nice garden with extra nice blooms that your sim can enjoy and maybe even show off and earn a gardening award for.

In TS4 Gardening is more about "farming", the sims plant in order to harvest something.

I miss the pulling of weeds and watering indoor plants from Sims 1

How have you taken care of the spraying? Weeding and watering are fine, but spraying takes a ridiculous amount of time.

I'm not talking about vegetable gardening. It's not modded out in my game.

I'm talking about certain bush fences and rosebushes, those only need trimming, not spraying. And random weeds around flowerbeds.

One thing I miss in the Sims 2 is the custom neighborhoods. It gave us the option of multiple houses on the maps we could make. The neighborhoods with the game also gave us that option too, but I always liked making my own. It just felt more lively, because you would see your other Sims around as well as NPCs.
I also miss that green lines that would link Sim families together in the neighborhood mode. Also, even though it wasn't perfect, the family tree kept a pretty good track of family relations to a point. Also the cut scenes for major events.
I also miss when Sims 2 pets could have jobs.
For Sims 3, although my computer couldn't handle it, I do miss the open world. Also, I miss having my Sims being able to work at the cematary. I loved making my vampires working there.

I haven't used the interaction, but I've seen one to introduce Sims to other Sims.

I miss these TS2 cheat codes

    boolprop constrainFloorElevation false
    setHighestAllowedLevel 16
    deleteAllCharacters

Yes, the highest allowed level. Could build some really interesting and impressive buildings back then. I have a set of plans for a Victorian hotel in Bermuda that can be built only in TS2. The central tower is about 12 floors high.
