I hadn't played the Sims for quite some time. Just got tired of constantly finding something wrong no matter how I tried to play it. But I got bored (or stupid) and decided to give the "For Rent" expansion a try, despite it being way over priced. And it took less than an hour to find something uber annoying once again.
In the rentals, all doors stay up no matter what wall hide setting you're using. If you have a small apartment, Sims are constantly hidden behind them. To make matters worse, it turns out it's been like that ever since City Living came out (same thing in those apartments). My guess is that because of the multiple units inside one building, they weren't smart enough to come up with a way to differentiate between the front doors, which probably always need to be seen so you can knock on them, and the inside doors. But seriously. There's a set as front door option already in the game. It wouldn't take a genius to find a way to use that in this situation. But it would take someone who cared about the product they're putting out to take the time to do so. Which is why we're out of luck once again since this will never be fixed.
So off I go again, to try and design every apartment I build with the doors on the walls which you view from the side (bottom to top on the screen) instead of straight on (left to right). Because heaven forbid any attention to detail is ever put into an EA product.

So I'm just going to not update and not buy anything for a while. I didn't update after getting Medieval Castle Kit, so I don't have the bugs that came with the new stuff pack. I'm gonna just play in offline mode for now. Hopefully this mess is fixed by the time Summer Game Sales roll around.
This is too bad, too, because I had exactly $10 leftover from my holiday gift money that I was considering spending on Crystal Creations, because that pack is something that suits my gameplay style (fits well with Realm of Magic). I guess I'll just buy a book instead.
Edit: Both sims 3 and 4 run like butter on hot corn thanks to my new gaming toaster!
Another edit: since you have a folder for mod..work with the Moders...They are making this game sellable.
