I am a bit concerned with the age of some of the threads being nominated. I have clicked on a few where images and links were broken or missing from most posts. Eg. The bakeries one was the time before photobucket got rid of free images, all of my images and other simmers on that one is missing because most of us moved to a different host and deleted photobucket. Perhaps older ones should have links and images checked first

@mcrudd I don't know how it was in other's people threads, but in ones I nominated there are still working pictures and links - if not in first post, or first page, they're still there further along. Sometimes not pictures are the most important. Some creators put their stuff on mediafire, which is common for worlds. And those links are nowhere else to be found, so if threads go down, links will be gone too. Even if some links are not working, people should be allowed to nominate them, since answers and solution in those type of threads. CC, patches and mods might change along the years, but game engine is still the same, with all rules it is working on. Beside, it's kinda silly to make new forum elitist and don't allow to move some of older threads because they "don't deserve this", whatever that would mean. All threads created after October 18th 2022 will be migrated. There are surely many not too meritoric threads among that.
I think only threads which sparks controversy and cause argues shouldn't be moved, but others still should have chance.

I'm shocked: I just returned to the forums and came across the news that they are changing. Anyway, it's always good to accept changes. Since Sims 2 I adapted to the changes, we have to move forward. Thanks for so many years with this forums

@mcrudd - I have been cutting and pasting some tutorial posts into Microsoft OneNote so that I will have them as long as I want and not have to rely on a forum. For some of the posts, the photos that don't appear in this forum do appear in my document. The photos may have Photobucket watermarks but I can still see the photos. This is great for tutorial threads. Sadly, links to The Exchange movie pages are no longer of value since all those informative tutorials were lost when Flash Player was discontinued. If the links in the threads are to the previous Sims "jforum", you can still find the page.

So sad to see this plethora of tips, tricks and creative outlets vanish making any bookmark or pin players have made null and void. If it were possible, I’d nominate every single thread on these forums to be preserved on the new ones, alas that probably won’t be possible.
Time is running out for nominating threads and I’m too tired to dig through the many, many pins I’ve made with ideas to remember if ever needed. Fortunately, some threads have already been nominated, but I will just add this one to the lot as well:
Okay here is my first post (unless this thread closes before I can post the rest), a list of important threads from the Mods & CC Technical Discussions section. I had posted too late to get an answer before the weekend so I'm not sure if my "general summary for all links" is going to be allowed or not. If it isn't please let me know and I will do my best to give them all a short description.
Anyhow, I weeded through all 27 pages ( ) for threads that should be preserved either because it's 1) a niche topic with rare info (worlds, animations, etc.), 2) important technical info (limitations/possibilities of the game, resource types, etc.), 3) mini-tutorials, resource lists, and other useful topics for future generations. I apologize profusely if this is a lot of work for whoever is moving the threads, but I just wanted to make sure this info could transfer so it's more visible than a Wayback link. I even got rid of a few before posting because they felt less important or I realized there's a similar post on MTS or S4S.
Will put both lists under a spoiler so it's not so long. Mods & CC Technical Discussions:
In the second list I am also copy/pasting most links from this thread in the possibility that SGMS or SGTL had an AHQ account (or someone on the team can attach those accounts to an AHQ official account(s)) and these can transfer. Some do hold technical convos and of course these important .bts/other files. Just in case the .bts or TDESCs aren't capable of transferring because they are considered uploads, even from a Guru account, I have separated them based on "upload only" and "is info or has a convo included" so that the person moving threads can focus on the info/convo ones. Once the forum is up I'll try to re-upload everything that couldn't transfer.
Thank you a ton if you can move these, the modding community will be super appreciative (and by effect, players)!

Yeah, I'm exhausted. I got started late for several reasons (a couple out of my hands) and underestimated how clean the moderators kept the tech discussion over the years, so there was more to look at than anticipated and it took me several days. It's 4 am but I'm gonna push through and tackle a few more sections if I can squeeze them in.
And I grabbed some threads from the community voted stuff packs, along with additional links in the case of knitting as Luth grabbed some already! Useful info of how behind the scenes stuff worked, and a good idea to preserve these fun events with the community and dev team.

This thread is the prequel story of the iconic Cornelia Goth and her little sister, Agnes. It is my story of how they came to Sunset Valley and became a part of Sims 3 tradition. And then the sequel story of what happened to Bella Goth and why Agnes became a bitter old woman who loved batting lovers on the head with her purse. All of the wonderful comments and feedback inspired parts of the story and encouraged the continued machinima labor of love.

Anyhow, I weeded through all 27 pages (
Will put both lists under a spoiler so it's not so long.
In the second list I am also copy/pasting most links from this thread in the possibility that SGMS or SGTL had an AHQ account (or someone on the team can attach those accounts to an AHQ official account(s)) and these can transfer. Some do hold technical convos and of course these important .bts/other files. Just in case the .bts or TDESCs aren't capable of transferring because they are considered uploads, even from a Guru account, I have separated them based on "upload only" and "is info or has a convo included" so that the person moving threads can focus on the info/convo ones. Once the forum is up I'll try to re-upload everything that couldn't transfer.
Thank you a ton if you can move these, the modding community will be super appreciative (and by effect, players)!
