I think it’s okay for people to want some realism in a life simulation game haha. Doesn’t hurt to hope!

Imo it'd be fun to have two versions: a permanent one that can be placed on a lot (which would be great for building a themed lot, since you won't need to go into live mode and have a sim make it), and one your sims can make on the go, with chalk. It'd be more versatile and add a bit more unique gameplay.

Heck, imagine if any sim could make a temporary outline for a few Simoleons, letting your Rags to Riches sims gain fun easily without having to use their phones or other sims. Maybe the temp one could fade away/get smudged when you have Seasons and it rains.

If going for realism, evil/mean kids/teens could destroy the hopscotch, or maybe chase the kids away and occupy their game. A little drama in a boring childhood could result in moodlet and negative relation. Aaaand, a chance to be brave and chase off the mean/evil person ;)

Realistically speaking you don't even need chalk. Limestone is everywhere. It's common in a lot of places. We used that to draw on the ground as kids.
Chalk is a fine-grained white limestone or micrite. On average, it consists of calcium carbonate. Clay and quartz are the most common impurities. Most chalk is soft friable rock, easy to mine.

I can imagine an interaction while clicking on the ground being cheap 50 simoleons to draw hopscotch and I can also see a painted permanent version being more expensive. Either is fine for me. Maybe we'll get both! 50 simoleons is pretty easy to come across. Though we hardly see 'free' in the game. I remember thinking those free vampire wall decals were odd pricing only because it's out if the norm but it makes total sense to be free. So does drawing with chalk/rock whatever.
(I'm not just making that up... the vampire decals are free in the catalog, right?)

also I'd really appreciate if we could have more than one lot type on the same place like a rental apartment on top of a dinner, or a spa/coffee shop, etc.

I have been hoping for this, i know they said it won’t be with this pack but i do hope maybe another pack can integrate this system with cross pack compatibility one day, like maybe a Mall pack.

But i do wonder, i use the LMS Auto Employee mod to auto hire vendors on lots that they don’t typically spawn on. I hope that mod can be updated and work with apartments in some aspect. i made a Parisian cafe with the 2nd floor as apartments, so i hope if i can set the cafe as a shared space, then the mod can still work and spawn a barista there.

@Coconut27 where can I find this Mod? I've been wanting the vendors in my game to work properly for a long time now; the only Mod I use is MC Command Center. <3

    Some questions came to mind.
    1. If you are the property owner is there a loading screen to fix a tenant’s sink? Or do you only get issues in shared spaces to fix?
    2. If you use the demand for rent, does this call the tenant out for you to ask, wait for them to come out to ask or you follow a loading screen to go to them and ask them?
    3. Will random Sims still be able to enter your rental lot?

    🤔🤷🏼‍♂️.

Making a pack that is all about apartments and other multi-residence lots and not giving us any really large lots in the world included is a real darn shame.

Completely agree this world is pretty useless for me 9 lots and more than half of them are 20/20 or smaller. Seriously counting the days till March so tired of not being able to build on the lot sizes I want and not being able to design the worlds.

I am also disappointed by the amount of lots and the size of the lots. There should have been one or two big ones. And 9 lots is the size of a game pack world like tartosa or strangerville. Hang on, strangerville has 11 lots + one special lot. So we have a game pack with a bigger world. I hope we get a lot of gameplay on top of the landlord shown in the gameplay trailer to make up for the small world.

I used to love Little Miss Sam's mods, but after cottage living, all of her mods broke for me and I can't fix it. If I put them in not only do they not work, but new pack interactions freeze, like home chef hustle, when the sale starts everyone stays frozen - I mean literally sun up sun down, and no one does anything.

I loved autoemployee so much as this one makes community lots come to life. I have a Art center that was a ballet lesson hall, music clubs with strings met at other rooms, and some many other activities with a working cafe on the first floor. I have even had music concert arenas, (but nearly no one was there). with autofill employees.

IF only they would introduce multi- functional lots to the game already. I would like,(have) a pizzeria with an apartment above- Thats the kind of liveliness I would really enjoy in game.

Thats also what I was hoping, that maybe, just maybe *fingers crossed* the reason the world is the way it is was due to spending less budget on the world and more on gameplay/building mechanic and hopefully making the world itself more interactive.

There are 9 lots and I think because we can have multiple families to one lot, we should be able to suffice, but the lots are way too small for my intentions and not enough lots for community spaces. I guess with the "animal sanctuary" and "night market" we should have the community spaces satisfied, but I want to see how good they make these. I want to see real wildlife with interactions to make up for this lack.

This night market by the water, looks alright, looks nice. Sort of like the spicy festival in City Living and not too innovative and new from an expansion pack. I imagine a fisherman's dwarf style bustling eating area for Brindleton Bay and San Sequoia, which left my heart disappointed, but at least they check it off here. I hope it's good and I wish they could have these in all the worlds, as places like this exist in all worlds.

oh thats interesting, i wonder if maybe you have a mod conflict? it seems to work fine for me so I am not sure. I have every EP,GP, and SP except for Batuu, so I don't know if that means anything here :D But yes, I totally agree that the game needs multi-function lots! the builds simmers could make :'( If only. Hopefully one day soon!

I have every ep gp and sp but only some of the kits, I am lacking. I would imagine it has to do with me on a mac. So me to troubleshoot my mods folder, it would be entirely impossible. Until I find a utility that helps me edit my mods folder efficiently, it's just too big. I have a few majors mods, but mostly cc. MAybe try to troubleshoot the gameplay mods. Thanks for the idea @Coconut27

I am just patiently awaiting they introduce it to the game proper.

Slightly off the topic, but still in the tread's conversation:
Has anyone seen the fruit stand in front of the equestrian center that came with the game open? It is always closed and not sure it's it just me or that's how it is. A smoothie stand would be nice in the game.

I think that's a seasonal stand and will only be open during autumn season. There is one in game for each season.

She changed a lot of her mods to use the XML Injector which means she doesn't need to include a script file for each one. There's a link to download it on the left side of her Tumblr page.

So....that twitter Q&A lol. I am not surprised by the pentouse/san myschuno lots and the vacay world limitation, but the Sulani waterfronts? A huge let down. I am not surprised that the sanctuary is a rabbithole, but at least our sims can win or find stuff in it.

My biggest let down, even tho i saw it coming--was the boats. I am not surprised because they seem to refuse to make anymore boats or water activities that are new for this game, will probably save if for an entirely new pack and make you spend $20 on it. All i want is ONE new boat that fits two sims so you can sail around or fish on it. I feel like they are done with boats and never want to make them again. This world is SURROUNDED by ocean and not a single new thing to do in said ocean. Again, I am disappointed, but not surprised.

Welp, that Q&A introduced a limit for units per save. It's 99. They really left an impression that it's unlimited.

As an author of Residential Rental preparation thread, of course I have made a lot of builds. And some of them have more than 6 units. I've decided to count all the units, and guess what, they all are over 99.

This mixture of dying inside and internal screaming envelopes me knowing that this prevents me from bringing over every lot to my main save and I may have to rebuild some of my buildings...

Please don't use the word 'Unlimited'. Noone reads "limit per save is 99" from that and I get grand ideas.

    Rant over. Please proceed.

PS. All that build info should have been shared earlier. I like to plan ahead a lot.

I am also disappointed by the Q&A. Why do they not allow residential rentals on penthouses. These penthouses were our best option to build apartments on high buildings and now we are not allowed to do so? This restriction makes no sense. Penthouses can support different kinds of residential (regular residentials, tiny homes, haunted houses and dorms) and owned lots like restaurants and retail. Why not the new apartments? I really don't like that they gave the impression that we could build everywhere when in reality we can't. I know we can build on the regular lot next to the sky scrapers but that's just not the same.

About the 99 per save : would have been nice to know a bit sooner. But I never planned on having units everywhere so no big deal for me.

Let's recap all the info gathered this week: no penthouses, tiny world with small lots, animal sanctuary... Not sure if this is worth 40€. I am reconsidering buying in December and wait for a sale after all.

At least maintenence trouble and mold are optional.
