Actually I like all the above. However, I mostly play Young Adult sims. I even make some of them look like a mature Middle-Ager instead of aging them up to full Adult because I don't like that their cheeks turn a greyish-brown no matter what the cheeks are. That being said, I do play some Adult sims that I make into Seniors thanks to the new age spots in the game. I don't like the Elder because they are always chewing on their own mouth gums & giving their own back whiplash. Ouch. When I do play my few families, I do like the new cute playable babies & I'm happy that the child sims can finally do more things. I do still wish that there was young teens of 13 to 15 instead of only the very tall 17 to 18 year old teens.
I like the adult stage of my own life more than the young adult stage, personally, as young adulthood is full of embarrassing mistakes and near disasters, and I am happy being settled down now, but for my game it's fun to kind of have my sims live the life of a young adult where - if a friend asked you to go somewhere, you went, even spur of the moment trips to different states for the weekend; if there was a party, you were down; if there was a chance to hook up, there was a good chance you would do it. Could someone possibly die? Ok, let's do it! (Young adult mentality.) Would your boyfriend be mad? Hm, maybe, butttt....all your friends and your family hated him anyway. It is just this time of life where it feels like nothing matters and life will never end and nothing bad will ever happen. That's the way I like to play my game. I'm glad I got to experience that in my twenties. Would not do it again now lol, but I wouldn't change the past.
All my daily trances, and all my nightly dreams, are where thy grey eye glances, and where thy footstep gleams.
I dance to the beat of my own drum, no matter how measured or far away.
I do love a road. You can always be wondering what is at the end of it.
Young adults are unsurprisingly my go-to for any playthrough, but I really like what they did for toddlers in TS4. They just have more freedom than in the previous games and are just walking, immortal creatures of destruction that not even werewolves can mess with.

I love all of them, except babies, but I love playing adults the most. Toddlers are my second favorites.
Adults have usually mastered their careers and several skills and I can concentrate on other things in their life. Toddlers are just simply funny and cute and I especially love their temper tantrums.
I love all the life stages but enjoy playing young adults most because they have more they can do and also because I'm in that age group in RL and I generally play as my Simself in my games. I like the toddlers and infants life stage as well they are really cute and their characteristics are adorable ^^
It's a tie between toddlers and young adults for me. I didn't want to play sims 4 before toddlers were patched in so they get my vote. I like how cute they are. Infants are cute too but they require much more care, very realistic but time consuming.
I often play young adults mainly because they have most to do. Sims 4 is mainly designed as a young adult simulator, after all. Just look at the redisigned Sims 4 cover, updated around 2018. Only young adults are shown, all other age groups were removed from the cover. Adults, elders and to some extent teens are so similar to young adults that they are practically the same to me.
I am loving the infant stage Achieving all the milestones and the gameplay is just so much fun. I especially enjoy it more since realizing that a parent is not needed as much through the infant stage as I thought
Young adults.
All the younger years are spent shaping them into the young adult I want them to be.
And then their life is spent shaping the next generation of young adults.
I preferred elder and teen Sims when they had radically different motive decay speeds in TS2 and had unique voices entirely, made for fun times having teens staying up for 30+ hours, and Elders needing to sit down every other hour.
In general aging was always off in my saves though, so I have no real desire to tend to new generations, and instead focus on the adult's working on their jobs or life.
The result of this survey is deeply surprising. Years and years of complaining about object babies, missing toddlers, preteens, elders, families, families, families and then this. I guess Maxis was just right with their concept in 2014. The game could be much better today had they just focused on things to do for young adults & everyone else instead of wasting so much resources on child-related familiy dynamic which only results in Sims with 30 traits and a collection of icons.
Of all of them it’s toddler I get the most gameplay from them mixed in with their parents and other household dynamics. After playing 4 infants and nearly killing off their father in the process (I’m playing a teenage mutant ninja turtle save) I’ve learned to love the ease of the toddler gameplay and appreciate it so much more.

I can't speak for others but my young adult sims are all family oriented. There is very little dating and partying in my game. My young adults are career oriented and responsible, enthusiastic parents.
I love the newborn, infant, toddler, child, and teen stages but choosing one of them would have implied I don't care as much for the others.
Seems like choosing young adult has the same implication. 🙂

I concur with this.
And now, I will checkout the preteen mod! I had no idea there was one... Looks like I've been missing out on gameplay.
I made my choice between young adult and adult. There's not that much difference really gameplay wise, they can do the same things. Adults have the midlife crisis now and I could say that makes them a little bit more interesting. However to me all life stages are important and I want to play my sims from newborn to elder, that's what makes them full characters to me. So saying people only want to play young adults based on this poll is very misleading when it's the whole lifespan that shapes up the sim and who they are (when aging on).
I stopped playing the child stage when I stopped using mods. This thread made me remember how much fun I had playing as a home-alone child with the father winter trait and the erratic trait on Mt Komorebi. I only like the erratic trait in children. It becomes more extreme as a sim ages. The mildest form used for children is perfect.
The teens are just too tall and the constant crushing on EVERYONE around them does not allow teens to act as the characters that I create. If EA had made the teens shorter, they would have been able to do less. I would be dissatisfied with that even more.
Children do not do the things I hate most in the later stages. I guess I like them so much for what they do NOT do.
@alanmichael1 I don't think that by asking us to choose our favorite lifestage, we are being asked if we would like to play with *only* that lifestage. Family play presupposes that someone likes to play with more than one lifestage at once.
I think the little ones are cute and I do enjoy creating stories for my elders, but I have to say I focus on the teens the most. I just love helping them grow up and turn into their future selves. (Any psychologically astute readers may remember that I have a real-life teen daughter.)
I don’t know which life stage is my favourite. I do spend longest with my sims as young adults as there’s so much more for them to do at that stage. But I absolutely love the infant and toddler stages, even though they’re shorter, and teens have been made more interesting with HSY. My least favourite stage is definitely elder as I find it hard to make their lives very different from adults.
Also wanted to add that I play with aging off and my toddlers, children, and teens remain in their stages for a long time. Anywhere from six months (real time) to a year or more. My Juliette was a teen for three years. 😄
Hmm, it’s pretty difficult to choose one life stage over the rest, but I really like the infant stage.
There’s a few reasons for this: 1) it’s a brand new life stage this year so the gameplay isn’t stale yet, 2) all of the infant animations are super cute to watch, and 3) I’ve found the infant stage pretty challenging for my play style.
Honestly, all life stages are fun to play imo, maybe the exception would be elders purely because I do not like sim deaths.

After that it goes teens, children, infants, adults, newborns, elders.

I just like a good mix of different lifestages in my game
and what is fun lifestage for one sim might not be fun lifestage for different sim
I have to say I recently have too many nooboo households though
so its making me yearn for single sims YA and above to play for a change
