I’m hoping they will refresh dine out and fix it. Also if they do refresh it, maybe they will make it where the cook can be the owner of the restaurant.
Carl's dine out mod demonstrated that it -can- be done. Fingers crossed.
Really curious I also think it is funny how many people are excited for the stuff pack because of the type of pack it is. People used to get so sensitive cause we had them then the kits and they are tops, sounds like marketing worked hehe.
People are excited for stuff packs returning cause the very last one they made (Paranormal) was REALLY high quality, showing the full potential stuff packs can have, and then they just disappeared. So people are hoping for a similar quality stuff pack I'm sure.
The speculation on XTwitter is that the the EP world is based on Thailand.
Elephant teapot. Elephants are the national animal of Thailand.
Thai tea. Is usually known as a Thai drink made from Ceylon black tea, milk, and sugar. Thai tea as it is consumed in Thailand is not typically brewed with spices, though many English language recipes inspired by Thai tea include ingredients such as star anise or cardamom to enhance the flavor. It is served either hot or cold. Thai tea is popular in Southeast Asia and is served in many restaurants that serve Thai food.

Ooh yes, and Bangkok is one of the most popular cities in the world, so it would be a hustlin’ and bustlin’ city! Well, if it was the inspiration of course.

I thought Paranormal was a game pack?
Exactly. It has so much content for a stuff pack that it kinda feels like one.

It feels like a well rounded pack. Just compare it to the first game pack released after paranormal : dream home decorator. Both come with a career that sends you to other sims' houses. But on top of that paranormal also has a lot type, NPC's and a skill. DHD only has pretty build buy to add. Paranormal has more gameplay than dream home decorator.
... I'm staying optimistic that the new features will eliminate a need for some of the cooking mods and also give console players a chance to join in the fun. ...
This pretty much, I don’t want to rely on mods. One less mod to have to check on every update is good.
I no longer use mods for Sims 4 and I got a new PS5 yesterday. A cooking pack benefits me personally, but I am curious to watch the impact of this pack on the larger community. Maybe I don't understand how mods work as well as I think that I do. I will buy it. I will use it. I personally will have more.
I've never been, but I have some deep roots in South East Asia. Unlike most little baby potatoes on Leprechaun Rock, I was a bit like a wee peanut, raised on everything hot'n spicy which -ofcourse-turned me into a rather hot 'n spicy indiv...
...wait, all I'm trying to say is that the idea of Thailand is making me hungry.
And one more thing! Thai inspired hustle and bustle canNOT exist without the floating markets! Floating Markets ought to be part of this EP. If they're not, I shall have to break down in lemon grass & coconut scented tears.
How great would this be??? I want an old fashioned -off the grid floating market. Not a modern one on a square with 3 foodtrucks. No. I want giant melons, bird's eye chillis and dragon fruits on wonderfully functional boats!
No, but... I'm intrigued by the new expansion pack. Very happy to see a third pack this year, but just not sure what the theme could possibly be. But if it is a Thailand-inspired world, I'm sure I'll get it no matter what the theme is.
Now I just have to get serious about Starfield for the next couple of months so I can return to TS4.
I'm actually still trying to figure out the multitude of Grim Reaper hints we got this year. There was another one in the Behind the Sims Stream shortly before the EP reveal. Don't think I'd consider Grimmy especially neighborly, though.

Hmmm, I don't know what to think. Cars are in the first spot from my wishlist, and I would save to get that pack, but no, those keys look like house keys, and the "Neighborhood EP"... nah, it won't feature cars or something. I think the Real State theme or another underwhelming neighborhood would be probable. And the Cooking SP... not very interested on it either.
Not very interested on this stuff. I would love for the devs proving me wrong, though.

Hmmm... The cooking stuff pack is a bit interesting to me. Might have to get it.
I take the keys to be apartment keys. I'm not into the city life, so the hustle and bustle of a big city does not appeal to me. It will depend on what else is in the expansion pack.
Hm, this is intriguing. I do hope I get my gaming rig sooner rather than later, as it is supposed to happen this month. Time will tell. I'm afraid to even buy the latest two kits, as this laptop is increasingly slow. Windows gave me a popup when I powered up and gave me the choice to restart or say okay to an afterhours update. I'm being updated to death. I can't run Windows 11 on this thing, so if this is Windows way of giving me a nudge, all I can say is good luck with that. Oi!
But I do look forward to what's in the works and thank you so much @simgirl1010 for posting this.
I'd really like it if the EP was about designing your neighborhood and the game finally added world editing tools. But that's probably a stretch and most likely would be something that would need to be patched in. But oh! it would be glorious to finally be able to bulldoze public areas and customize them. Goodbye playgrounds and picnics, hello graveyards and ancient ruins.
I can only dream that one day...one day it will come true...

A neighbourhood editor would be lovely. I just hope there won't be any more of the NAPs variety additions.

I couldn’t agree more.
The world object catalogue in debug will continue to grow with each introduction of a new world. It’s pretty vast already. I’d say almost half of this catalogue contains beautiful landscape decor including - but not limited to - ginormous rock formations, waterfalls, small forests and the floating assets from realm of magic. It’s beyond frustrating not to be able to use these assets -some of them animated- properly outside of the designated lots. A 60x60 is way way too small an area to make it work and look decent.
I HAVE seen folks create the most fascinating builds with these massive world assets, although in my opinion those lots often feel rather cramped and look odd and out of place within the general landscape. We should be able to do so much more with what we’re being offered in terms of build material. We should be able to place our own lots and/ or build our own complete, immersive worlds.
The TOOL mod is not the answer for me. I don’t have it installed because it almost gives me what I want, but not quite and due to these limitations I’d rather not have it at all. It’s too frustrating. For me, it’s all or nothing, I don’t care. Ha!
I had the same with custom ceilings. There was a variety of mods available that sort of half offered what I wanted re painting ceilings. But it wasn’t exactly how I needed it to work so I decided not to have them installed. I couldn’t be happier with the patched-in custom ceiling tool. Best thing that happened to me since werebeasts (in Sims 4 that is, not in life of course….I think….or…wait…. )
I’d love a fully functional world sculptor and world / neighborhood editor, preferably built into the game itself, but I’d have zero problem with it being a separate application with a system that allows creators to upload worlds or districts directly to their personal library. If done this way, folks that still happen to play their game on a bowl of mashed potatoes, can just ignore it. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got nothing against mashed potatoes. As long as it gives the rest of us all the tools necessary to create, modify and import worlds.
I understand that the development of such a complex tool requires many resources, however, at this point in time it would make sense to offer the community a world creator, since Sims 4 isn’t exactly going anywhere in the foreseeable future (or so we’ve been told). Due to this fact, the delicious world asset catalogue isn’t going anywhere either. It will only grow fatter over time and let’s be honest, my Plumbob will grow redder. No one wants that.
The debug catalogue needs a new friend. *sigh* The debug catalogue needs to become best buddies with a world creation tool friend so that they can live happily together forever. 💚

@CAPTAIN_NXR7 have you checked out Twisted Mexi's Create A World mod they have in progress?
@Starfree yes, I’ve looked into the development of this mod and it’s interesting, although I would have to become a paying alpha tester in order to play around with it, and it’s not something I can afford at the moment. I’ve already exceeded my entertainment budget by about 300% (I admit, I sort of pulled that number out of my pretty peach but I’d say it’s pretty spot on…) and extra mods are at the bottom of my priority list right now.
I don’t really want more mods than I already have…It just takes so much time to download & install updates with every new patch and I don’t feel like spending valuable time doing all this. I already have 10 mods and that’s 10 mods too many! I’m a busy man, I just want to play the darn game when the mood strikes me and I finally get a chance to actually play. My goodness I sound like a grumpy old bear.
This doesn’t mean I’m not willing to try out the mod further down the line…but to be honest I’d rather wait for team Maxis to add an official Sims 4 world editor. C’mon it can’t be that hard!! 😆
