Guess I'm critical because I knew right away when they didn't show them off that unicorns aren't included. I think players forget S4 packs are much smaller content wise. Whatever there is to show, it will be advertised to help sell the pack. There's no holding back for surprises.
Precisely, long gone are the days where packs came out with enough content that you have like 1/3 of the pack to discover by yourself.
This is what I expected them to be. And tbh unicorns don't fit well in a western styled world. For me, unicorns live in a fairytale forest and not in a desert. Imagine a cowboy riding a unicorn.
But I believe it was a bad decision. Unicorns would have been a selling point for many player.
The world's theme is not an excuse. The Sims 3 Pets' world had a similar theme, but it had unicorns.
They just seemingly arbitrarily decided not to add them. It becomes even more inexcusable when you consider how small this "Expansion" Pack already is.
They chose to do this with the *one* occult I actually wanted and here we are. Now we'll never get them in the game. SMH. Oh well, I'm an adult, I'll be okay.
Now now now, don't worry, if there is enough demand, I am sure they will make a unicorn GP with reused animations from the HR pack, 3 new unicorn-themed outfits, a world with 5 lots, and some random unicorn paraphernalia for a small 20 additional bucks.
LOL this thread is making me laugh
I don't know if they would be bold enough to pull another My First Pet fiasco. Maybe a $5 Unicorn Kit with a few new horse swatches, 1 new horn, and 2 new sparkly animations *must own Horse Ranch in order to actually ride the horses*
Is anyone else only looking forward to watching the Let's Plays for this pack? I could care less about actually buying the pack, but I am excited to watch all of the fun videos people post about it
I'm guessing they won't even bother with updating the stupid 8 Sims per household limit, and even though I didn't really expect that, I wish they did it anyway. Horses require a slot too, and we cannot even play as them, so what was really the point of making them a part of the household? I wish Simmers would dare and be brave to demand Maxis to update household sizes, fix the genealogy/family trees, make cats and dogs and horses playable too while we are at it. They really love cutting corners on purpose it seems.

It would be great if they expanded the 8 Sims per limit in the patch that is coming out today, but I doubt it. They should expand it to 10 at least.
I wouldn't say they cut corners on purpose, but I think they are not given the budget and time to make finished products, and EA knows that they can charge money for less content.
This pack is the first pack in the entire game to make me realize my days of playing without mods are over. I'm going to have to figure out the one for expanding the household limit otherwise I'll be unable to play and if anyone makes a unicorn mod, I'll need that as well. Last night I was thinking how no one is talking about this pack, I keep waiting for all my favorite youtubers to drop videos, I keep waiting for the Q&A the gurus do or the fun little teasers and I'm realizing that the reason no one is talking about it is because there is nothing to talk about. I'm normally pretty easy going with the sims but for the first time I'm incredibly disappointed and generally angry about this "expansion" pack.

I’d love to see some vids, but I hear the embargo doesn’t lift until tomorrow. One day before the pack comes out.
I’m sure this is a great sign and not at all an indication that they’re afraid of people having too much time to see bad reviews before impulsively buying it on release day.

One of the settings in MC Command Center lets you modify the household limit, up to 20 I think.
I really wish they would give us a week between prepatch and pack releases. EPs are almost guaranteed to introduce game breaking bugs worthy of a hot fix. 2 days isn't enough time for some hot fixes.
I have a strong aversion to western style country music and to western style line dancing. Why O why are horses being associated with this culture? There are sooooo many traditions and the ones that I like are ignored. It's not just that I don't like this kind of music and dancing, it's that it actually upsets me. I want the horses, sheep, and goats.....can I avoid the rest of it?

Good news: Stuff packs are back!
Bad news: it's My First Unicorn Stuff.
-sigh-
LMAO the worst part is that even tho we’re laughing, it’s 10000% something they’d do
I'm frustrated today. I was hoping that the embargo had ended and that Sims influencers could post their videos. But apparently that's tomorrow? If I was going to purchase Thursday it wouldn't give me much time to decide. I guess it's a good thing I plan to wait at least two weeks? I feel like the info for this pack and the hype could have been managed so much better. The lack of it makes me really concerned we're getting a half-baked pack with minimal features.
Honestly, in my opinion nectar making belongs in My Wedding Stories, so I'm not counting it. That leaves way less content in the actual pack 😅
Baby animals are cute but why do we have baby 'mini' goats and sheep, but not actual sheeps or goats for our farms? A sheep with the size of a chihuahua doesn't quite make it for me... We have llamas, but not goats for our farms, mini goats toddler size, and lambs but not sheeps, that's a weird selection imo and the weirdest farm I've seen but well.
The worst EP we got for Sims 4 so far! Shame on Maxis for making this pack, no unicorns what the!! I am too upset right now
I disagree, I think university was the worst pack. All small lots, not the same fun university that was in the sims 2. But I thought the same thing about get famous too…..

I would say that you can. Just delete all the western looking premades and builds. Don't use the western music station. As for line dancing I am not sure yet how that would work and if they will now line dance in every world or what?
@SheriSim57 I agree with you. I was very disappointed in University as I enjoyed the gameplay so much in Sims2. It was more challenging and the ability to play a household in the dorm was so much fun! I enjoyed Sims 3 university as well, but Sims 2 was the best college gameplay imo. I rarely use my university in my gameplay. Will have to try it again as really want to live in dorm but control a household, so will probably settle for living outside the dorm so can have the control. It would be more important to me to have them graduate together than have them all get grad pic, which you can't get with more than one sim graduating same time.
It's almost 9:00 a.m. EST one day before release day; where are the HR gameplay videos?! Lilsimsie has a new video about the patch in which she offhandedly remarks that she's had access to HR for a week already... why is she STILL not able to show it to us??
Kinda makes you feel like there's something to hide, eh?

I would not buy this pack on release. I would wait for the gameplay videos and reactions. I have regretted buying many packs too early.

With older packs it used to be a few days before release. I liked that better.

It may have been just one day with GT, though I thought it was two. It definitely used to be longer. With CoL, it was more like a couple of weeks.
I miss those days. I loved to watch all the gamechanger content while I was waiting for the new pack to come out.
