Anyone else find vampires (at least the ones that choose to eat food) not going to the toilet weird?
What about those with sickness mods (like Private Practice...) Are your vamps permanently healthy?
Are your vampires based on any TV, book or outside of the Sims archetypes? What powers and weaknesses do you choose to make them fit?
Related: Any Lyndsay Sands fans here??
and in general, just tell me about what makes your vampires tick.

I tend to think of it as transfusion when my vampires take a sip so none of it really goes through the whole digestive system
which is also why they throw up if they eat
I think this also makes sense for the plasma packs that way
but true food is little strange now that i think of it where do the nonplasma ingredients go hmm my vampires do often own toilets for their visitors though so technically they could use them if they felt so
for health I don't use mods so my vamps are about as healthy as game will let them be
i don't think they are particularily immune to sickness
inspirations I just get them all over the place really
and sprinkle in sim lore too
it makes me sad when people get too stuck with one type of vampire for there is many many ways to exist as vampire
I'm just trying to explore as many ways to be vampire as I can

Mixing lore is good too.
I'm still decidedly low skill level when it comes to vampire lore and playing Sims vamps... I haven't had many before this...
I have an immortal matriarch of my Legacy Save, and even as all her descendants grow old and generations pass, she's always there to lead the family. She's also married to Caleb Vatore and they have a lil' Vampire Clan club with Lilith and some other vamps I made.
I do have a vamp (made in October 2022) that’s based on Underworld, her name is Selene Underworld.🧛🏻♀️
My most recent vamp are a Gothic Western Couple.🧛🏻🧛🏻♀️🤠
All my vamps are saved in the Gallery under my username SEREFRAS.
I recommend selecting popular or favourites cause it limits the duplication problems in the Gallery.🧐😉
I always struggle with their careers. To me vampires have lived centuries. Surely in that time they have amassed plenty of wealth (and lost it a few times over) so why do they need careers?
As for human needs, I would be more inclined to use the needs reward traits (i.e. never hungry, steel bladder (or is that TS3?), etc.) for them.
When it comes to inspiration, the vampires I do have in my save (that I haven't played yet), I don't think their stories have come from anywhere specific that I remember.
I have one who was cursed with vampirism from a spellcaster due to unrequited love. She wanted to ensure he'd never have an everlasting love and would only watch his lovers die. She's even given herself immortality to watch his misery. That story is based off of an episode of "Highlander: The Series," my all time favorite TV show. Of course in the show, Duncan wasn't a vampire just immortal but I drew inspiration from a flashback he had in one of the episodes.
... Or have they?
what if it was dark and foggy night
and you were a poor coffin maker
on your way home from the village pub
what if on your way home you ran into a mysterious figure?
what if the mysterious figure chomped on your neck, drained you of plasma and left you for Grim Reaper
only the Grim Reaper never arrived?
What if you woke up, stumbled home having completely forgotten about it and proceeded to test one of the coffins you made
what if you fell into deep slumber and woke up hundreds of years later in completely different world?

That's a really good point. Imagine how thirsty one would be if they slept for centuries. Imagine the culture shock.
The three premade vampires have been edited, moved in together, and are now the leaders of the vampire community:
- Vlad is still the founder of Forgotten Hollow, but a little nicer, and rumour has it he's the oldest and most powerful vampire in the world.
- Caleb has been renamed to Vasmer Balke, the author of the Encyclopedias Vampiricas who focuses more on knowledge about vampire lore than raw power. "He" is also gender-fluid, male in his human form and female in his dark form, and I'm still waiting for the pronoun update to come to my (German) game so I can actually give him the pronoun "they".
- Lilith is now Valeria Janekowski, no longer Caleb's sister, but an expert on vampire diets who, in my headcanon, came up with the vegetarian lifestyle and runs the online shop for plasma bags. The popular drink "Plasma Jane" was named after her.
The three of them no longer live in Forgotten Hollow, but in Granite Falls, which has been the capital of magic in my game ever since I turned it residential. Every lot is home to one or more leading figures of their respective occult communities. For example, the alphas of the two werewolf packs also live in Granite Falls rather than Moonwood Mill.
Another VIP in the vampire community, albeit not their leader, is Mercury, the owner of a shop that sells all kinds of rare occult items. His name is not a coincidence, he's my version of the Greek god of commerce and messages, and therefore technically older than Vlad even though the latter's bio claims otherwise. Mercury, his asari girlfriend Zeraphine Nocturn and their cat familiar Sir Wednesday are currently (un-)living in Bridgeview, Newcrest, which I have turned into an eternal winter world using a home-made mod.
The vampires' lack of needs does hold me back from playing with them more, though. Managing my sims' needs is an integral part of my game, yet vampires barely ever need anything. (I know, the only things they don't actually need are beds and toilets, but that gives them all the more time to take care of other needs, making it seem like they're perfectly happy most of the time.) Ideal when you have a very active and/or adventurous vampire who wants to explore the world without being held back by things like sleep, not so much when you're just trying to live a normal life. Also, kitchen appliances and bathrooms with toilets are a must-have in every house and it's weird when none of the residents actually use them. That's why I often have vampires living together with non-vampires.
Something wicked this way comes!
I don't use MCCC.
Salim Benali became a vampire because he wanted to test what it's like. he is a journalist who also writes books. It was supposed to be an inavaluable short term experience, but he got hooked in it and it cost him his family. Recently Salim moved from San Myshuno to Windenburg and is the founder of a vampire lair there.
Salim's story: All My Favourite Things Are Blue
Janni & Janna, grandchildren of my first sim. They live in Willow Creek and pretend to be normal old grannies... except they never die and Janni also likes to hunt sims for a snack. Janna is more gentle and prefers to order vampire drink from a computer.
Jannis & Janna's story: Weird Old Ladies
Saya is evil and wants to torture other sims. She lived for a while with Janni and Janna and kidnapped a child to give them as a gift so they would turn her. Now she has moved into Salim's vampire lair.
Saya's story: I’ll Be Watching You
Harry wants to believe that vampires can be good. He lives in Glimmerbrook country side and loves his chicken. He is hoping to find a wife and start a family, he has all the time in the world to wait.
Amy Lee is a character who I brought over from TS2. Now Amy Lee fell in love with a sim who she met by making a wish at the wishing well (who then became powerful spellcaster). Amy Lee has died from sun once, but was brought back by his husband. They got twin kids and the son Ace is a vampire.
Constantine is Amy Lee's twin brother. In TS2 Constantine used to be a werewolf. He lives in a big castle in Windenburg, he is sort of the vampire king there as Windenburg is my major vampire neighbourhood.
Also Caleb lives in Windenburg and tries to improve the reputation of vampires through social media. Lilith again is the manager of an alderly home and specialized in blood samples. I think that's all my vampires.

Unfortunately, it looks like the female vampire I made, needs more attention. With more than a hundred played sims, it's hard to treat everone right.
In this picture, a sim called Anne Fyres is doing homework in botanic seems to get some help from a visitor who is a known vampire.
Vladimir 'the Impaler' Tepesz aka Vlad. Inspired by the 'real' Count Dracula.
He already 'lived' in my Sims 3 game so I know him for far over ten years.
Currently he is a teenager and lives off of Plasmafruit and -packs and never drank blood from a Sim before until he had to to save Ji Ho... It's a long story 📜 😉
He is a loner and loves to write and paint and he is only really close to Saiwa and Jack.
Vlad started as an adult in Sims 4 but I aged him, Sai, Jack and Ji Ho down to check the Highschool pack, that's one year ago and now they check all the other packs too... ^^'
Usually he is calm and controlled but he has quite a temper when someone acts against his loved ones. He adds them diligently to his to-kill list 💀
And what very few people know is that he can be quite funny and he's so cute when he laughs.
His theme song is My Immortal from Evanescence.
Since he bonded with Ji Ho his eyes turn red when Ji Ho is in danger and after he got blinded by hellfire, he has visions. During the visions his eyes turn white.

Mine is Chloe Samuel. She was sixteen when she was attacked one night while out late. Since then she has been avoiding most food, but instead sneaking out on her bike to feed on unsuspecting strangers at the pier, snacking on her Uncle (who came over for a brief stay) and ambushing her classmates during "lunch".
Just recently Chloe got busted feeding on the janitor when she didn't hear Sydney come up to the lockers...
Mine are mostly based on the vampires from my favorite vampire movie - Underworld-Rise of the Lycans. I'll have none of that Twilight nonsense. (sparkly vampires)... pfffff lol
Dina, Alex and Max were murdered during the Great Werewolf/Vampire war, after Max killed Jacob.
The ones who are still around are Morgan Fryers (she lives somewhere else) and her son (who loves partying and people - but the bloodsucking thing is turning people off. He's young and will figure it out). He lives in Forgotten Hollow. He's living with vampire Luna Villareal, who just got dumped by vampire Caleb.
Wolfgang hated being a vampire, ran away, and lived with the love of his life, Cassandra Goth. After Cassandra cured him, she decided to infiltrate the vampires and take them down. She lives with her now-boyfriend Caleb. And enjoys being a vampire.
Alexander's mom, Bella, brought Alexander back from the dead. But apparently he was brought back without a soul. He lives with his girlfriend, Lilith Pleasant, and is all sorts of trouble. They often kidnap people to feed on them. And Morgan Fyres comes in and cleans up their messes.
1.) You pose an overly interesting question to start with… Still working on trying to think up a creative reason for an answer. (As it’s a vampire is fictional concept and so, fictional explanations work lol)
2.) Well, I just want to say this as far as selecting the perks & weaknesses go… That ‘weakness’ where they vamp is made nauseous and regurgitates normal sim food— I avoid and ignore like the plague.
Here’s why: I had a vampire with it once… Then down the road ended up wanting and choosing to cure said vampire…
Even though the sim isn’t a vampire anymore that ONE vampire ‘weakness’ seems to still stick!
Never again.
But aside from not touching that thing. I don’t have a particular selection I like to go with… It always varies…
On my sims gallery though, SimOpresser I have a vampire named Mazel Tov Vic, that I made and am very proud of…
Had this Wedding Singer idea for him, a back story I was proud of. Explains in it, why he is with a dark form look as his regular look and a human look for his “dark form”… Was and am very proud of the idea.
Only creative idea I have really had and in the end felt it really came together and made me proud!
I had a female Vampire that married Caleb, and I edited them a teen daughter. Their teen daughter was blonde like her mom in normal form, and had brown hair in her Vampire form. At night she likes to visit the neighbors and hang out. She and her mom drink plasma from Sims, while Caleb doesn't.
In-game children for my couple included two kids. One child was a daughter with brown hair. Caleb is teaching her about drinking Plasma fruit instead of Plasma from another Sim. Their other child is a son, he is blonde, and so far I haven't decided what path he will take.
I plan to create a Vampire Sim and a Werewolf Sim that are married with a kid.
Also, I will either let Vlad bite one of my Sims, or create a Vampire to compete with Vlad with how many Sims are turned into Vampires.
TBH vampires are a little bit difficult for me to play, but not for the reasons mentioned but the immortality... I like my sims' lives to have a start and an ending, with vampires I have to view their existence very differently.

In the universe my vampires live in, the reason for them never going to the toilet is due to the fact that when they drink plasma, they absorb every bit of the plasma and so there is no waste product. Some, like my vampire chef Kio, can do the same with regular food and drink too but have to be careful as to how much they consume as it makes them gain weight rapidly.
Kio is the vampire I play the most:
He is from a deep underground realm of demons, vampires and evil spirits known as the Under Realm. As an Under Realm vampire, he is more undead than your average vampire; he does not need to breathe, does not possess lungs, a heart or a lower digestive system (though has a different sort of stomach organ to contain and absorb plasma, which sustains his life force). He is also essentially unkillable and will automatically heal/regrow body parts if he has an accident or is attacked. Neither does he feel physical pain (it feels more like a tickling sensation). The only things that can cause him physical damage are sunlight and anything fire-based.
Though closely related to demons (on his mother's side), Kio has a positively angelic (if sometimes eccentric) personality and has a great affection and appreciation for all living creatures. He is on a mission to show humanity that vampires can be good members of the community, through the medium of baked goods.
It is very hard to anger him due to his gentle nature but he does find it annoying when people mispronounce his surname as 'Nightmare' (it's actually Nightmear). He also refuses to read/watch a lot of vampire related popular culture because of the negative stereotyping (for starters, that incident in Transylvania was greatly overexaggerated).
Powers: Hypnosis, ability to unlock doors, super speed, heightened strength, can give energy back to people as well as zap it from them.
Weaknesses: sunlight, powers are weaker in daytime, can only sleep in coffins, guilty drinker (though not usually a problem as he only eats plasma fruit) and has uncontrollable hissing - which comes out more prominently when he's nervous, threatened or angry.
Most of the vampires I have created tend to just be peaceful occults trying to fit in among humans and other occults. They live regular lives and do regular careers. I had one who was the first vampire to join the local army (Strangerville) and her husband, also a vampire, was a fashion designer.
Magicomedies:https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/1006334/magicomedies#latest
Her vampiric powers all revolve altering ones perception and having high resistance to the sun. She has no vampire weaknesses aside the thirst. A line to her throughout life is that no matter what the thirst always wins.
She is the oldest vampire, having been born before the time of Vladislaus' father and even centuries before that.
She is loosely based on Blood Rayne with big differences. They have similar style of humor, they are both brave, and the color red is their dominant color.
It's a pretty fun game to play, but certainly a challenge. The young lovers really hated each other at first. Whenever one of them said something nice to the other , it only made them hate each other more! So we did get them to eventually become friends and lovers, but it was a LOT of work !
It would have made better sense for roleplay if they eloped, but we decided to have a wedding, so we could get utter chaos from the rival families. The vampire bride's parents didn't even show up to the wedding. The groom's parents did, but his sisters did not come. Oh, and the vampire bride's grandpa did come, but he stayed too long and died from sunlight exposure in the morning. (So my daughter engraved his urn to say "Our marriage really did kill him.")
The werewolf's grandma died too. Her tombstome disappeared, but I was able to find her ghost through a cheat. The couple invited her ghost to live with them, and then invited the vampire grandpa ghost to live with them. So now the forbidden lovers have rival grandparents living with them (and their apartment is in the same building as the vampire and werewolf families, so lots of nasty sentiments go on in the hallway, and in their apartment.)
They have two children so far. (First a boy, and later a girl.) Both babies turned out as werewolves, but we keep saying that the vampire mom is in denial and insists they're really vampire babies. Vampire mom actually had a negative reaction to both babies, but turned green soon (after she convinced herself they were really babies).
Things got a little out of control during the last full moon. Between the werewolves and the ghosts, vampire bride was in a near constant state of terror, and developed a huge grudge against her werewolf husband. Then we had to go back to work fixing that relationship! We can't let them get divorced yet. They don't have a vampire baby yet! And besides, this family is so fun to play. We're always making crazy jokes about what they're really thinking.
SOME LORE
- Everyone gets a unique bat form; this bat form will influence their ear shape. Because I like bats, and I like pointy ears. Gotta have pointy ears.
- Besides that, powers and weaknesses get quite varied!
- - For example, some are sun resistant, most are not.
- - Any powers and weaknesses on the vampire power tree are basically up for grabs this way.
- - Some also have powers that are just not available in TS4. Walking on walls, for example.
- Eye color implies cause of undeath. Similar to Sims 3 ghosts.
- - Eyes always glow, unless they're disguised.
- They are kept immortal by dark magic.
- The dark form is their true form; human form is simply their disguise to allow them to blend into society better by looking human. Some vampires have not bothered practicing maintenance of a human form, and thus only has a dark form.
- Generally, they all look tired as heck. Often they'll also have rather dead and cold-looking skintones, depending on how little effort they make to blend in. With age, their skin may even take on a more unnatural shade. For example, my thousand year old vampire is about as pale as snow, with a cold blue tint. It has slowly turned this shade over time. (note: not every vampire gets this pale - it depends on what the starting point was)
- Cannot eat normal food, more often than not.
- Normally cannot create children, unless they can.
- Dark Ley Line-born vampires are ones whose parents have been cursed by vampires in some way or another.
- To turn, one must die soon after being bit. While the bite is fresh. Yeah, accidents can happen this way.
- Can stay in bat form indefinitely; another thing I cannot do in-game.
- Hibernation is a thing and it can be truly indefinite if uninterrupted
- Cannot cure them. Once they're undead, they're dead. Removing the vampirism from their body would simply kill them for real.
Honestly I would share some of my vampire sims too, but I see this message is already rather long. Hah, oops.
I guess I'll just hide them under this spoiler.
Morten:
- 20 years old; youngest of the bunch, fledgling
- kind of an accidental vampire?? certainly didn't mean to be one anyway
- thought their bat friend was a wizard's familiar. but, well... he was wrong.
- totally wanted to be a spellcaster instead but hahaha no
- still got major issues with drinking blood from living creatures
- overall a bit too sweet and wholesome hahaha. sorry buddy there's no vampire cures here
- made in CAS. started this all
Bat:
- 290+ years old - raised as a pirate
- yeah this was the bat Morten mistook for a familiar and befriended too hard
- small chaos friend. he was like 14 upon turning
- probably caught feelings but he will deny it
- likes blood, actually.
- will hide in bat form quite often.
- definitely snacked on Mort's family for like a year before deciding to turn Morten.
- concepted as morten's sire; used CAS to figure out his look a bit more
Rune:
- 48 years old.
- slept through 23 of those years whoops
- born in-game to human parents. dark ley line lot trait.
- kind of been pressured by family to appear as normal as possible
- fairly skilled at the guitar
- was supposed to be a legacy sim, but clearly i got carried away playing these guys instead!
Einarr:
- 1035 years old
- yep that's right he was raised around the end of the viking age
- turned by some nasty old vampire in a castle his group of vikings attempted to raid
- still remembers most of the stuff he's been through over the centuries
- incapable of sleeping without being surrounded by complete darkness. straight up cannot hibernate. basically a vampire insomniac
- likes fish blood and lives in a houseboat. it looks like a viking ship because of course it does
- Bat's ancient sire. didn't really mean to turn him this young, but this kid died early and had been begging to turn, so. hm
Yeah it's those guys in my signature. I just like them a lot.

And in a strange turn of events, the vampire bride has developed a bad relationship with her own vampire grandpa. I don't know how that happened, but surely it must be due to some resentment over him killing himself at her wedding.
