How about grabbing this opportunity to finally bring us that Game Pack with the Grim Reaper career, functional graveyards, funerals, and upgraded, playable Ghosts? A goth CAS would fit nicely into a "wallow in death" theme. And you could throw in an 80s retro goth music station. B)

Pretty please? I want these things so much!

Me too! Fits to Medievel Kit too, btw. Most of all the better playable ghosts (in castles and old mansions) <3

Sorry, it’s me again but you’re speaking my language! 😅

I’d also love a Dark Wave music station and a secret customizable Underworld - world, accessible via a ROM-like portal.
This made me think of The Door of Life and Death which was sold as a premium gameplay object on the Sims 3 store as part of an ancient library “kit”. I often used the door to
“…challenge the Grim Reaper to a guitar duel, if the Sim is Level 4 or higher in that skill. Doing so will cause the Grim Reaper to appear with a skeletal guitar in hand, and a musical battle between him and the Sim will proceed. Sim winning the guitar duel yields him/her a "Don't Fear the Grim Reaper" moodlet and a death flower, however if they lose, they will be attacked and possibly killed by the Pit Monster living under the Reaper's doormat.”

This door also lets you revive deceased sims and more.
    Link here.

There is so much gameplay potential for a Grim Reaper inspired Gamepack: from philosopher’s stone / reincarnation quests to reaping souls for fame to over-confident reaper apprentices causing zombie apocalypses due to having subpar reaping skills.
Gameplay wise it could be a mix between ROM, Jungle Adventures and Strangerville but much more challenging and most importantly, DEADLIER. It’d be such a killer pack. 💀

I liked the Grim Reaper in all Sims inlcuding the last. But sorry, I never saw the point of the ghost characters, and playing with them is sounds even more ridiculous. Just because of that one kit, the whole game would turns into a halloween sytle. This will be a problem for those who want to buy the complete game later, and not into this topic.

Throwing my voice in as someone who'd totally play such a pack, especially with CAS-build-able ghosts with tattered/spooky clothing and historical costumes to dress them up in.

I mean upgrading them requires the cheat Sims.Give_satisfaction_points 9000000, as well as both Spooky Stuff and the Paranormal Packs, A different type of undead occult would be better suited for Grim Reaper pack, like for example a Shinigami Occult, which could work like a cross between Vampires, Ghosts and Zombies, Shinigami translates into God of Death.

Loving all the ideas here. I'm really want to see an eerie and gloomy world called Llament Hill, maybe a ghost town with a portal to a paralell world where people are trapped and cursed with the undead plague, maybe caused by Grim or by someone who's using the occult secrets of life and death. I'd also think it would be interesting to have a ghost as protagonist since zombies can't physically contaminate them, what would be a perfect opportunity to give them upgrades.

I dunno because I would love a goth kit but I really don't want death to be involved in any way. Please no. :'(
All my daily trances, and all my nightly dreams, are where thy grey eye glances, and where thy footstep gleams.
I dance to the beat of my own drum, no matter how measured or far away.
I do love a road. You can always be wondering what is at the end of it.

To be honest, I play a lot of Sims and I use aging off. I don't like to see my Sims die. (Townies on the other hand.... *ahem*.) But I think about what else could be in a pack like this for those who are not inclined to celebrate death in a video game, and maybe it would be a way to honor the past, and play ancestors who lived long ago, but in the form of Ghosts, watching over their lineage.

There are nice ways to play these kinds of concepts, too. :)

I can never have enough tattered clothing and historical costumes. I think that with a pack like this, they should also release a CAS unlock cheat code so we can access all of the great costumes in Get Famous. (The actual main reason I bought that pack, lol.)

I guess I could get on board with that. Honestly what is funny is, like I said somewhere else, I really enjoy horror movies and being scared and I think practical effect gore and etc is really cool, like especially watching documentaries or behind-the-scenes on how they make that stuff and then watching it in action is crazy, and I think that the crazy over-the-top deaths in things like that - it's pretty entertaining. And in our house - every day is Halloween. We even use a werewolf for our Christmas tree. But there's just something about my games that is different, I like my games to be perfect fantasy worlds where there is no stress or suffering or anything like that. I do like bullet hell games but I like the anime-style cutesy bullet hell games, and dungeon crawlers but the same sort of thing, anything like that that I play is cutesy and colorful and not realistic at all. So...yeh. I can't explain why my brain works the way it does, but that's the way it works. For some reason.

I hate being the only exception in a discussion but you know that right, you can still prevent the death of a sim if you command another sim to talk with the Grim Reaper. I liked this part because it was fun, but if we increased this even further, the game would no longer have much to do with reality. And I have no desire playing in a ghost town with full of undead.

Talking with the Grim Reaper has never worked for me, any of the times I have tried it. I have tried everything that the internet has said to try, no luck. That's why I modded out emotional deaths and just exit without saving if someone dies some other way.

My average is about 10/10 success.. Yea, I remember those idiot sims had to do yoga outside in the cold winter all the time. They had no reaction at all to freezing to death within minutes.

Yep, I do know that. Doesn't always work, though. It also doesn't stop me from wanting a job as a Reaper, or for wanting optional, playable ghosts that I can create in CAS. And Ghosts are technically already playable if you add them to your household, so it's not beyond the scope of the game anyway.

I don't like to play games of reality, I like a life simulation game to simulate a life (or death) that I can't have. I want anything to be possible. Too much realism without the spice of Occults, superstition, and unique lore that pushes the boundaries is just not interesting to me, I wouldn't play it. Plus, The Sims has always had bizarre supernatural, sci-fi and fantasy elements worked into it. But the beauty of Sims 4 is, people who don't want those elements can just skip those types of packs, just like I skipped Parenthood, Dream Designer and Weddings. That's the great thing about niche themes being in their own pack because they don't invade the base game and force it on everyone. :)

That's what I like in games too - I don't want things that are too close to reality. I almost said that but I didn't want to push my luck. I love the fantasy / occult packs, and I love when things are NOT too real. I cannot wait for fairies and elves and whatever else. The vampire pack is the very first one that I got, and I love the drinking of "plasma" ahem and the changing sims and all that. I like using the vampire traits to put other sims under my spell. And mermaids are my ultimate fave of the fantasy creatures we have so far. I get that we all want different things from the game, that is becoming super clear from a lot of threads over the past couple of days lol. Hopefully everyone will ultimately be satisfied with things that can maybe be optional in the settings of the game.

That said Ghosts would still exist in a hyper realistic Sims game, like in a game heavly based off of our reality, you'd still have Ghosts, they're one of the few Occults that do exist, Supernatural Haunting do happen IRL, IRL Ghosts are a bit different than the ones in the Sims and there's different classifications like Apparitions (the type Sims ghosts are based off, they look like how they did when they were alive or how they looked when they died, the most human looking of the bunch), Orbs (Looks like specks of dusts, fairly common), Poltergeists (the only type that can interact with solid physical objects, Completely Invisible, likes to open cupboards and throw tantrums by throwing stuff at people, also enjoys pushing people down stairs, Highly Dangerous) and Shadow People (Ghosts that resemble sentient shadows, so far the creepest type.)

Yes please to all of it!

I'd love to see it all set in a an eerie foggy swampy bajou world. Complete with voodoo curses, a celebration of the dead parade/festival with traditional trumpets and saxophones, and a mausoleum with a secret entry into some kind of hidden underworld. It could give us great cross-pack compatibility with the paranormal stuff pack, werewolves, vampires, and spellcasters.... all congregating in the same world, all trying to keep the peace.... but can they succeed?

Anne Rice meets Bram Stoker meets Stephen King.... what could possibly go wrong? :D

You might be interested in "The Witch of Lime Street: Seance, Seduction, and Houdini in the Spirit World" - it's an audiobook. My partner is super interested in the occult, has been since he was a kid, and he loved it. I did too.

I absolutely love the guitar duel and special Door! Imagine if we also got a proper bands/instruments pack? They could even challenge Grim to a drumming duel or lovely, somber cello! I really love when cello is used in modern bands. It's the best sound. <3

Yes! A music / band pack is also one of those things I really want in this game! If we had a Grimreaper career pack AND bands our sims could form a proper Death Metal band with Grim as the lead vocalist and Bonehilda on drums. Or bone maracas…whatever she prefers. I’ll let her choose this time. Musical battles with an option to duel to the death would be priceless! I truly hope that a music pack has been in development for a while since it would take a huge amount of resources to do it right. Finger crossed!
And with vampires installed, wouldn’t it be great to finally have a sim play the organ at a funeral?

Simmer that love weddings got “My Wedding Stories” (weddings my 🍑, I bought it for The Tartosa, some CAS -especially the open shirt with the loose tie, I don’t know why- and ofcourse the church items) it would only be fair if the darker souls among us got their graveyard pack!

Oh, don’t get me started on cellos, I love the deep, haunting sound of cellos, cellos are playing in my head as I write this, I absolutely love orchestral music, I love cinematic music, I love all of it combined with modern genres and instruments, it’s near impossible for me to express how much I love music, except through music, I love it in every auditory shape and form, as long as it’s honest and epic, even when it’s minimalist and somber, loud or quiet. Honestly, I’d be but a sad shadow of myself if it wasn’t for music!!😭❤️

I’d love an eerie swamp world, I can imagine this being like Sulani, bayou style, in which we can build swamp houses and have swimmable swamps. Just dirt roads and lots of swamps. I’m reminded once again about the voodoo inspired concept art the sims team shared/ leaked a long time ago. I must find it and post it here for inspo. It’s awesome!

I would love a bayou world! It would go well with Willow Creek and the New Orleans vibe. New Orleans has bayous and plenty of voodoo history.
