Judith Ward also needs an elderly horse, her dear companion ever since they starred together in her first blockbuster film, the one that made her a star.

I don't have any definite plans. I am looking forward to the nectar making, I have a few lots that would benefit from adding it. Also, might add the little goats and sheep to some households. I love the new build items, and the world looks pretty. I think I will send my sims on some camping vacations there.

I have no plans yet. Mainly because I had a baby 6 months ago and haven't had time to play and prior to baby I was to miserable to play lol. I have like 7 saves and they ALL have multiple famillies that I rotate between within each save so I can't even remember everyone and who I was playing so I've been planning to find some time to go through all my saves and either start some over or if I need to create a new family.

I do know that I love pre-made families so once we get a run down of the pre-mades coming I'll make a decision. I also have an idea swirling around with the Sam Elliot look alike in the trailer.....Also the classic ranch hand falling in love with the Ranch owners daughter who is back from college haha

Also, I've never quite known what to do with Vlad, but perhaps now he will create a small artisanal plasma nectary.

    I love this idea!

I'll be starting a new family in Chestnut Ridge in the save where I play all new packs to get used to the gameplay. Then when it comes to my Main Story saves, Chestnut Ridge will just be made a vacation world while I add the horses and other needed features to the worlds I'm already playing in.

I plan to recreate a horse (well pony) that I used to own in RL and bring him to the Sims 4 to join my household. After that, I plan to move the household to Chestnut Ridge; I will make my female sim quit her job as an author to ride her horse, and raise mini goats and sheep. I also plan to get Cottage Living down the line as well so I can get chickens. If there is a way to train horses and sell them like in the Sims 3, I will make my sim become a horse trainer.

If I choose to buy the pack, I think I'd like to have a goat farm ... would be cool if your Sim could craft soap and lotions with the milk.

Typically, I select from one of my households that I've created relatives and friends for. It is more enjoyable gameplay for me to have family (including in-laws) and friends for my main household to interact with.

Horse Ranch will add more gameplay and things for my Sims to do. Having horses and the incredibly adorable mini goats and sheep is something I'm looking forward to experiencing.

It is between one of these two households that I most likely will play for the new Horse Ranch expansion pack. And yes, they will be moving to Chestnut Ridge.

If I select the household with toddler Noah, Daniel and Daniel's wife Emily, I'll have to add Emily's parents to the world and age up Noah to a child. Of course, Noah wants to experience the joys of having his own horse.

These are my main families which includes grandparents and their in-laws.

I created a new story idea. I’m hoping this one sticks. I already have restartitis and I haven’t even started 😂

I made a single female sim that’s gotten her heart broken…again. Longing for the comfort of her mothers, she quits her job and moves to their ranch, hoping to find solace in the desert…or at least inspiration for her newest romance novel. Her mothers welcome her with open arms as this is her first time visiting them since they moved to Chestnut Ridge at the start of the year after a fire destroyed their home and everything they owned in Brindleton Bay. And of course she develops a love/hate relationship with the neighbor…

There will be nectar making, horse training, cute baby goats and hopefully a happily ever after 🥰

@UniqueKhaos that sounds promising. If it's just her and her mother they may need some help. Like a hired hand. Who is also attracted to her.

Wonder if the hired hands lives in, like the butler? 🤔

@simgirl1010 I thought about having some hired help, but wasn’t sure if they live with the family or not. That would change things up a bit. She actually has 2 moms so that makes 3 of them to handle ranch duties. I’m going to try not to go too crazy with the goats, chickens, horses and sheep…on second thought, they may need more help.

Even if I do get this as soon as I can. I'm gonna wait to see how things go before even adding it to my game once I have it. I want to see what the bugs are gonna be. I think if they up household size and separate pets from other sims, I'll feel really reassured.

But then I might still wait a bit. I really have this idea of like a fae queen sim riding her house across a field. Like we don't have open world, but if I make a community lot/park just to ride in. I can make it happen.

It's like what happened with infants. I was super excited. But I ended up unable to play for literally months bc of illness. And once I started to be a bit better, it wasn't as exciting. The family I made was hard to get back into, even after I literally set up everything for a generational save. And that's with infants and GwT actually adding a lot more depth to the game.

And while horses are nice. They aren't like the biggest thing to me. The thing that would keep me wanting to play with them, beyond the initial freshness, would be if something I really wanted was able to be used with it.

So other than trying to get the pack in time to get the rewards for buying early, I likely won't be playing with them very much, if at all, until I've got like fairies and magical steeds everywhere.

I'd probably use the nectar tho.

I don't have a strong interest in the Wild West, and I don't feel one way or the other about horses, but after watching a few reactions to the trailer for the pack, my mind, as often happens, came up with a storyline:
Jesse, a teen who's been hanging with the wrong crowd, getting into trouble, potentially crossed the line with his frustrated mother when he got expelled from school. As a form of punishment and a way to try and bring him down to earth, she sent him to her friend's ranch where he can be introduced to hard work and learn responsibility. Said friend lives a wealthy life on her ranch, with her father-in-law, daughter, and teen son Lee. Jesse is set up to work with Lee on tending to the animals and the ranch, which Jesse has zero experience or interest in, being he's so far removed from such a lifestyle. But overtime he comes to understand it and even takes some pleasure in it, especially when Lee helps him overcome his discomfort with horses and learn to ride. They grow close in their time together, and eventually Jesse finds he might have feelings for Lee, but fears the good natured teen won't take kindly to his more bad boy past/reputation. Also there may or maynot be a rumor going around about this ranch family having some secret.
Through Jesse's character, I'd learn how to play the expansion pack, that is if I consider getting it.

I'm still waiting to see gameplay reports from others before I commit to buying the pack, but if I do end up buying it I will most certainly be creating the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, and giving Grim a horse to ride, because of the whole pale rider thing.
Occult Simmer (All Occult All The Time)

    Female Simmer from Australia (she/her)

I had one of my Sims marry the Grim Reaper & now they have a lot of kids.

My favourite sim family is going to be perfect for this xp. They currently live on a 64 x 64 in Brindleton Bay in a New England style farmhouse and make their money from selling flowers.
I will have to move somebody out though as its 2 adults, 3 kids, a granddaughter, dog and cat (not to mention the chickens, cow, goldfish and butler!!LOL). But its about time the eldest started university and moved in with his sweetheart Olive Tinker anyways.
Ive just rearranged their barn to make room for a horse and some mini's and Im thinking they will try their hand at nectar making too.

Its not western in the slightest TBH but I did also turn all of Oasis Springs into an old west town in that save too so looking forward to getting some horses on the Landgraab Ranch...and a ranch hand to look after the livestock!

i have a new sim i started few wks ago. i am earning her money to buy a ranch with, im guessing will need between 200 and 300 k

@UniqueKhaos, Maybe you can make a significant other for her as live-in ranch hand (household member) and have a small bunkhouse or apartment in the barn? I have a maid/nanny that I did that with, so I can control her as well. Then you can decide what your story will be with a ranch hand as potential love interest.

I just realized that my traveller in moonwood might like to own horse although I also realize that my wagon will probably look ridiculously big next to a horse which will look silly

that calls for magical explanations such as " the wagon was designed to be pulled by dragons but the dragons went extinct"

well, at least she is spellcaster so its not like thats out of question

and I most definitely should have some horses on my medieval island in Windenburg

Bjergsens might like some sheep too for their fake viking life there

I also might add horses for Sable Square in Brindleton Bay somewhere...

I just really need to upgrade my computer its already crashing as it is and adding about billion animals in my save probably is not the best idea before i do something about it

I feel like Chestnut Ridge also needs a vet clinic, which makes me wonder whether there will be any cross-pack functionality there. Horses will pretty obviously be too big to hop up on the vet table, but it would be great if sims with vet skills could at least have interactions to examine and/or treat horses if they have illnesses or injuries. I also wonder whether horses will be able to use the various vet treats from the vending machine.

My plans are to make a purple horse based off EZ the horse of many colors in The Wizard of Oz.

I totally forgot about that horse-of-a- different-Color in the Wizard of Oz.
I’m so going to give both my Oz households that.😉

I'm planning on starting a royal family story at some point (hopefully sooner rather than later!) so horses are perfect for them! Perhaps some could go the Princess Anne/Zara Tindall route and ride horses competitively, whilst others are more casual.

Meet Plum! Plum was the first foal I raised in Sims 3 ...

I decided Daniel would buy Plum and take her back to Newcrest with him after the vacation. Unfortunately at the moment Sims 4 Plum is just a modded bike:

I can't wait to make her real (again)!
@EnkiSchmidt I love this! LOL at Plum being a modded bike right now. 😄

After watching lilsimsie playing TS3 horses yesterday, I decided to go back into Sims 3 and also check out horses again. It'll keep me occupied until TS4 Horse Ranch comes out. Good practice. 😉 To begin, I had my sims adopt two foals, female Bancy and male Kizmer.
