FYI, I've had a really rough week. I'm sure I remember when a trip to the eye doctor for my annual check-up did not require three days of rest to recover from. Anyway, I haven't managed to get as much Sims playing in as I would like... I'm hoping to have enough to make an update this week but I'm not sure yet. I'll have to see how I feel over the next few days.
@Metior_Ice, I definitely appreciate your thoughts and insights.
I agree, the best villains aren't just villains. Everyone is the hero of their own story.
Mariah is in an odd place right now. She, like her father, believes in the code of honor the Families claim to follow. I think on some level, she remembers her father's sense of honor, which she witnessed as a child, and it is part of who she is... both as part of her strength and her conflicted nature. (I need to see how I can fit that into the story.) How much of that code is real and how much is an excuse... well, thereby hangs a tale.
I know you’ll figure it out, but that code of honor is the difference between a mob being a force of good or bad. Naturally, criminals have their nature in the context of a story, and there are certainly more situations where what they do is bad rather than good. However, that Code of Honor could define the line between their actions ultimately harming others or resulting in positive change.
If you think about it, comic books often painted vigilantes as something bad because they were braking a law, but despite braking the law and technically being criminals themselves, they create positive change as superheroes.
So, that’s a way to subvert expectations and the plot.
Again, Damion is evil, but he’s never broken a law or did something he didn’t say he would do. He’s honest about everything he says. The heroes don’t really benefit from his “help,” but he never deceived anyone. He never made someone do something against their own free will.
Edit: That’s the only insight I can think of giving. I wish I had an idea of some other stories that might give you a spark of inspiration. Because sometimes reading is the best way to figure out what you want to do.
If I may jump in here, the thing to remember about Villains (or any bad guy type) is that they don't see themselves as being bad. They truly believe in what they're doing, that they are right and the others are wrong. That makes them a well-rounded character and believable. And I think I missed a chapter during my hiatus.

Yikes. Now had it been a dental check-up, I could relate. An eye exam? Wow. Hope you feel better, soon.
That was properly foreboding.🫣 Of course Ms H is involved so it was bound to get nasty. I'm curious how involved Cassie and Gwen will be this time around. I feel like Miranda is going to have to do most of the hard work herself. I'm really worried about Genie. That vision seemed especially bad.
I've been wanting to explore, and explain, Miranda and Gwen's visions. This was a good opportunity. Mariah is moving deeper into the wyrd world... and Genie and Aadi has their own roles to play.
Things are getting very grown up and very real. I did get a laugh out of Mariah’s comment about vampires and gangsters being a normal thing for Miranda. She has the toughness to protect everyone but that won’t be enough in this fight. This is properly spellbinding.
Well..that was certainly unexpected! I think Aadi's expression in your teaser picture says it all. I can't wait to see how tangled this gets before it gets untangled. I love Mariah's new look! The half and half looked good but this is better. One of the sure things in this world is when everybody says 'I got this', nobody has this.🫣
Yeah... well, I never felt Genie and Carlos were in it for the long haul. He really did ask her to move in. I guess it's one of the features of the new game pack I picked up... and one that got toned down in the current patch. Still, it seemed a good crisis point for them to break up over.
Alto putting the moves on Genie when she on the rebound (and a little juiced) just goes to show that good ol' Uncle Nick is actually not a nice guy. I mean, she's only a little older than his grandkid.
Mariah's hair is really interesting to me. For me, it came to really symbolize her inner conflict... abandoned or loved, insecure or confident, monster or hero. It's time for a change. Mariah's picked a side.
... but yeah, has she really "got this?"
Well, it wouldn't be much of a story if it was easy.
Aadi has it right. If Carlos is going to get pushy like that, almost domineering, that is a huge red flag. And then try to put the blame on Genie is another red flag. As they got deeper and deeper into their relationship things would have only gotten worse. Now was the time to make a break.
