When placing a lot from the Gallery, the lot name is changed to the same name as the lot being placed. In earlier versions of The Sims 4, this did not happen. I may not like the new name for the lot, but unfortunately, an option to keep the current lot name is not happening any time soon.
As a builder, I would advise you to pick a creative lot name. Naming a lot is not rocket science. Sims.fandom.com has a list of lots and houses from every game in The Sims series. Here is a handful of some of the houses from The Sims 2 and 3 for inspiration.

I am sorry but you can’t just take the house. You can save separate rooms though. Also, you can place the large home on a smaller lot but as you go to place the build, there will be a green line that shows where the house will fit the lot, and the rest of the build will be “ cut off”.

Hello I have been gone for a few years. I was able to start playing again this past January, so just a few months. I am having a huge build problem (I think). I don't even know if I am posting this in the correct place. I hope someone can help me. I will attempt to attach the pictures of the problem. I do not use mods, cc, or anything other than the bb.moveobjects on, bb.ignoregameplayunlocksentitlement stuff.

Here's the problem:
I built a house for my sim. I love this house, I'm not the best builder, and I DO NOT like to the roof. All of the rooms that I built automatically came with the default ceiling, except one. The bedroom. I built a bedroom and installed a closet. then I noticed that the side of the closet was next to the fireplace. So I built a wall around the outside of the fireplace. When it came time to build the roof I noticed that the bedroom did not have the default ceiling and I do not know how to fix this.
