Until recently, I was a Sims 3 only player. When Sims 4 came out, I missed too many Sims 3 features while playing and quit. A year ago, I tried again and bought all the packs, hoping this would awaken my Sims 4 spirit. But alas, it did not.
A few weeks ago I contracted Covid for the first time, and even though I had been vaccinated, I became very ill and have been recovering ever since. I often had to spend my time indoors (coughing and tired). During summer, all my PC games are removed to take away temptation (no parents involved, I do this every year). Since Sims 4 was no temptation, I had it still installed on my computer.
And maybe because I approached the game in a different way, or maybe Covid altered my brain, but I have been obsessed with this game for weeks!
I haven't been part of this community (forums) for some time and have been catching up in the last days. I noticed a lot of negativity. Apparently I got lucky, since I started playing again after the first update of HSY and had the full high school experience without the problems.
It seems these days my experience is not the popular opinion but the exact opposite, as many return to Sims 3, or claim to do so.
Anyway, I'm glad to be back on this forum and hope that EA keeps making Sims 4 content for many years.
Welcome! (Though you're not a forum newbie I see ) The Simming heart wants want the Simming heart wants I loved Sims 2, I loved Sims 3, and now I love Sims 4, despite its many aggravations (mods help!). So you're not alone!
Welcome @SaskiaLovesSims ! I'm glad you're feeling better and I hope you continue to love Sims 4. I love it too, and hope it keeps going a long time.
I was a devoted Sims 1 player, and didn't move to Sims 2 till well into its run. I also played Sims Castaway and Medieval. I never got into Sims 3, but instead continued playing Sims 2 till my computer just got too old and tired. Waiting 15 minutes for the game to come on and another 15+ minutes every time I changed houses or neighborhoods got way too annoying. I bought Sims 4 in 2016 but there was too many hectic things going on to devote any time to it. In 2020 I rediscovered it (I had actually forgotten I had it! ). Now I am totally hooked again and loving the game. I don't have all the packs yet, but I do have quite a few. I have found the forums to be full of information and many players are very friendly and helpful. I just ignore the negativity and concentrate on the good things.
Welcome, and thanks for the positivity. Lately things have gotten pretty negative and cynical around here. I’m also still enjoying my Sims 4 game. I never really took to TS2, but played a lot of TS3. I remember how frustrating that game became toward the end with lag and routing issues, and even though TS4 has it’s bugs, I still don’t find it as frustrating to play.
Hi. Welcome to the Sims 4. Always good to see some positivity. The S4 forum discussions have been overrun with game related issues lately, and rightly so for those experiencing them, so I've only been popping in every now and then. For whatever reason I'm not seeing a lot of issues in my game so I'll be glad when they're addressed and things can get back to somewhat normal.

Indeed, I'm not new to the forum, but it has been years since I visited. Thank you for the welcome :-) And yes, I have been discovering mods and CC the last few days, such a wonderful community. Thanks again and happy simming!
For many years? It's been 8 of them! Too much for so little and there's no open world or color wheels to explain why this game is so laggy. The Sims 3 with all it's problems is so superior. As time passes my tolerance for this game vanishes! I started being positive despite the turbulence at the beginning but now I can't stand this game. It's stuff over gameplay. Features that feel incomplete, poorly made dlc's and kits that add just stuff that does nothing but change looks. The Sims 4 prioritized looks over gameplay. It's shallow! Lacks lore. It get's boring so fast. A disappointment!
Last week I installed the Sims 3, didn't play in years. I think my eyes are permanently damaged ! Couldn't deal with the way the game look. It ran great on my computer but the big open world felt empty. I uninstalled it by the end of the day. I remember by the time Sims 3 was coming to an end, people on the forum were mad at the game. It was laggy, buggy and crashed. The 64 bits I played recently seemed stable though, if anyone is interested. But you will need A LOT of CC imo .
I really like sims 4 Being a console player it’s the first one I got to properly play.
I do understand people miss older features and there are bugs and things to complain about. But taken on its own merits it’s a very fun addictive game with a lot of things to do. I think a lot of people do take some of the good things of sims 4 for granted a bit too - the look of the sims and the build and buy and some of the pack content seems along the best in the series. I have played for hours and hours.
Heya everyone, There are soo many things, that I’d love to see in the sims 4!! I used to play the sims 2 but now I just love playing the sims 4, although some things that were in the sims 2 and don’t see in the sims 4 I find essential to a sims everyday life is essential!! And miss those items being in the game too!!
So here is just me jotting down what I miss: - change tables of different types - cars - useable garage doors, not just one type of door that doesn’t work
For the rest, I’m quite happy with the game!! So sims 4 peeps if you're seeing this, would you be able to consider taking these items into the game??
